About Katie Patterson

I'm a 4th Generation owner of Glenn Acres Horse Farm and I'm proud to be a member of such a wonderful family and legacy.

Katie Patterson purchased this farmhouse in 1947

Why Katie Patterson chose Missouri

There are vacations you can take all over the world and spend thousands of dollars trying to make everyone happy; but at the heart of a vacation all you really want is un-interrupted time with the people you love. The farm is a place away from the hustle, away from your normal routine, where you can barbecue, fish, hike, watch your kids laugh and try to all cram into a hammock. Its a place to make memories without having to break the bank or get on a plane.

Absolutely Wonderful Place to Stay!

  • 5 of 5

The owners have thought of everything and we had more than everything we needed. The farm is beautiful, serene and I can not wait to return for another visit. The owners were extremely accommodating and even made sure we had fire wood for our fire in the evenings. The kitchen has helpful cooking stuff, like flour, spices and items to share that people have left behind. My daughters enjoyed all the kid's toys in the back yard, seeing the horses and playing on the hay bales. The bedrooms are amazing, they are large and extremely well decorated! If I could, I would give this property TEN STARS! Thank you again for a lovely stay for our family!

Absolutely the best lodging experience!

  • 5 of 5

This is the second year that my family and friends have spent the weekend at this amazing home. This year was even better than last year which itself was stellar! Huge new addition to the house and improvements. Great new outdoor improvements too! This is such a peaceful place to relax with friends and family! Fishing, hiking, bird watching, hanging at the campfire, etc. etc. An awesome option for family reunions, business retreats etc. Katie and her family are absolutely the best!

This house is beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

I was with a group of six parents visiting Mizzou for parents weekend and we all were very impressed by the house. It was decorated like a home on HGTV. You don't have to bring a thing besides food and drinks. Everything else was provided. The home is very clean and had plenty of towels and supplies. The grounds were beautiful, you even see people riding their horses on the grounds. The owner, Katie is very nice and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.

Large, comfortable, relaxing home

  • 5 of 5

The house was large and had so many great details, such as plenty of chairs inside and out, large comfortable beds, plenty of kitchen supplies, etc. Our group of 12 (3 couples with kids) had plenty of room. Everything felt clean and comfortable. The check-out clean up list was a little longer than I am used to in these types of places (wanting us to wash and fold towels for example), but nothing outrageous. Katie was very professional in her dealings with us.

WOW! Kapow! What a place to Vacation and Relax!

  • 5 of 5

When I opened the door and stepped in to be engulfed by the Super large Family Room/Kitchen I was Impressed! Glenn Acres Farm is a treat for anyone wanting to get away to the country. A tour of the house is impressive featuring a hand-carved bannister going up the staircase to the upstairs bedrooms. The house has been fully updated with accommodations and amenities for relaxing, cooking and just doing nothing!

The pond is great fishing! The Fire-Pit is a wonderful time to visit and set everyone straight according to your own opinion!

If you need to go to town it's 10 minutes away!

Thanks Katie,

Our Visit Was Awesome!

Bruce

Relax and rejuvenate 😊

  • 4 of 5

Perfect get away from the hustle and bustle. Spacious and comfy home. All the amenities you need. It is close enough to Columbia if you want to dine out or find a good hiking/ biking trail. Nice size fishing pond... No lie about the huge catfish..we caught a 25lb one. Tranquil outside surroundings with horses to admire. Even though it was 100 degrees outside, we enjoyed the porch in the evening and the house was very cool throughout the day. My teenagers even enjoyed the tranquility. It is a great place to relax and read a good book, too .

2 Miles

Nearest Motorway

Car: necessary

If you are going to leave the farm I would suggest going downtown to Broadway to check out the shops. Stop for lunch and have 2 Booches burgers (trust me you will want two) Booches is located on 9th street downtown. Then proceed to the Katy trail do a little biking and when your all tuckered out end your day with a Flat Branch micro brew.

I would check the calendar for the roots and blues festival, art in the park, true false film festival, and free concerts downtown hosted by the blue note.
