We followed the instructions provided and found the house easily and parked up. We entered the property after 4pm (following the strongly worded instructions!) and had a walk round the house discussing who was going to stay where. Having discussions with my ladies on the morning of our departure we all agreed that the beds very comfortable, linen of good quality, settees in the lounge comfortable and a lovely bright airy room. There was a bathroom on all 3 floors so all bedrooms were covered and the kitchen was fully equipped and had a lovely large table where we sat and chatted as only a group of ladies can!!!!!! There was plenty of hot water for all of us to shower and the house was really warm and cosy. The location of the house is brilliant with absolutely everything within walking distance! We had a very enjoyable visit to York, thank you.
Just one little negative criticism that was mentioned was that, in our opinion, it would be better to provide large bath sheets rather than the small bath towels that were available, although there were a lot of towels provided.
Eight of us enjoyed a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. We weren't in the house much, but when we were it was cosy and comfortable and easily big enough for us all. We enjoyed a meal sitting around the big table in the dining room. Location was perfect, a walk along the river to the races, central for the town and very near to lovely cafes and pubs at Bishopthorpe.
We had a delightful stay at Baille Hill House. It was clean, comfortable, and so convenient to everything we wanted to see in York. We especially enjoyed our walks on the wall and many visits to the local pubs. (I really miss the pubs now that we are back in the U.S.).
We.enjoyed a fabulous week in York. The house was extraordinarily comfortable. It was very clean and well equipped. We especially enjoyed walks on the wall and trips to Whitby and Holmfirth.
We had an excellent stay, accommodation location is perfect for visiting everything york has to offer, so close to all the attractions. Really enjoyed it, we'll be back!
Second time here. Superb location for enjoying York. Loads of space and facilities.
Just a note, those using the single beds commented they could feel the springs in the mattress.
York has many attractions and all of these are within a 10 - 15 minute walk of the house:-
The Jorvik Museum
The Yorkshire Musuem
Places to eat include the famous Bettys Tea Rooms. There is a Jamie Oliver Restaurant in York as well as usual favourites such as Pizza Express. There is a large Marks and Spencer Food store about 10 minutes walk from the house.
The North Yorkshire Moors are a short drive away.
