About the property

Detached villa with fenced/private pool, Ping pong, table football near Todi

Beautiful restored farmhouse, part of an ancient and substantial landed property, abt. 20 km south of the lovely Umbrian town of Todi. The speedway E45 Terni-Perugia is 12 Km far away. The villa is ideal for families with young children, it has a completeley fenced garden (for private use of the tenant) and it is possible to close the access to the swimming pool. The pool lies between the garden of Villa Vigna and the owner's villa, the owner doesn't use the pool when the holiday villa is rented for the privacy of the guests (i.e the tenant has a pool for their private use at disposition). From the pool you have a panoramic view over the countryside and hills, the pool area is equipped with beach chairs/umbrellas and there is also a gazebo with chairs and table. Villa Vigna lies 30 meters away from the pool, there is no sight between Villa Vigna and the pool/owner's villa seen the presence of trees and bushes. If you stay in the garden around Villa Vigna no other persons can see you, so the guests have a lot of privacy. There is a gazebo equipped with large table and chairs to eat outdoor, next a barbecue & stone oven are at disposition to cook. Outdoor children games: ping pong, table football, swing & slide. Restaurant/Pizzeria and supermarket 300 meters far away. It's possible to purchase directly from the owner olive oil and wine. 3 km away it is possible to visit an extremely rare example of fossil forest.

Gr. fl.: living room with fireplace and access to the garden (barbecue, wood-burning oven), dining room with fireplace divided by 3 steps from the living room, kitchen, 1 twin bedded room with bathroom with shower, WC. 1st fl.: 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. Laundry room (washing machine).

We've found the shirt. The husband of the family who left last picked it up

thinking it was the shirt one of the others had left behind. Please apologise to Paolo for us and thank him for a

wonderful holiday, it was the best we've had.

A spacious & generally well appointed villa in a good location

  • 3 of 5

The villa is attractive, well appointed, set in spacious gardens and in a good location for touring the region. I have one negative comment and one suggestion: Firstly, access to the pool is not precisely as described. The pool is adjacent to the owner's house and some distance from the villa with a gated fence between the two properties. There were two occasions when we would have liked to use the pool but found it already in use by the owner's family. The owner and his wife were extremely hospitable and I am sure they would have moved if we had asked them to. However, we should not have been placed in this situation given the published statement that the pool is for the "private use of the tenant" and "the owner doesn't use the pool when the holiday villa is rented for the privacy of the guests."

The suggestion is that the file of useful information is reviewed & updated to include doctors, hospital, banks, shops etc. instead of just a series of local maps, phone numbers of the odd restaurant and a pile of largely out-of-date brochures. This suggestion was conveyed to the owner prior to our departure.

Despite these comments, however, our stay was an extremely enjoyable one..

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review. About the access to the pool not precisely as described: in the text it's written there is a gated fence between the Holiday villa and the pool area. One of the photographs (number 15/31) is a satellite view of the property where is CLEARLY SHOWN all (the rented villa, the swimming pool on location of it on the property, the fence, ecc). About the pool used by the owner's family we remember one occasion when the 8yo child was using the pool while the client was having lunch. One of the people came into the pool and we immediately asked the child to go out the pool and we apologized to the client. For the future we will bear in mind that for some people this may also be considered offensive.

What a great place!!

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful holiday with our family.

The house is very complete and the pool with the view is stunning.

One night we had the private chef that cooked for us, really great!

The red wine of Paolo was very nice.

Everthing we needed was there, also the outside pizza oven, WOW!!

Thanx for the great stay and service!

Maybe we'll see each other again.

Excellent and homely experience

  • 5 of 5

House was excellent. We have stayed in Umbria/Tuscany multiple times and this was the best equipped. Pool area is also great and pool is large. Only 300 metres to excellent friendly pizzeria with ridicoulous low prices. Only 10 minute drive to motorway. Best thing about it was Paolo - our host - that made us feel at home and provided us with his own wine, oil, honey, jam etc

A great week in Umbria

  • 5 of 5

A very spacious house, perfectly located in Umbria. A short driving distance from Umbria's main attractions, such as Spoleto, Orvieto, Terni, etc. The house has 5 bedrooms (3 with double beds and 2 with 2 singles), each with its own bathroom - very convenient for trips with friends or extended family. It is equipped with everything needed for cooking, and has a nice large dining table in the patio outside. We were worried about the lack of air condition, but even though the outside temperature was 35-37 clesius, the thick walls kept the house cool inside.

Farnetta itself is a very small village - not many amenities except for a bar and an excellent pizzeria where we dined for 3 evenings. Groceries can be bought about 3 kms from there, in the village of Montecastrilli.

The owner, Paolo, was extremely nice! We initially had some problems with the date of arrival, and he was very accommodating. A problem with the internet was fixed within an hour of reporting it to him.

All in all, we highly recommend this property and host, and we plan to be back.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were made to feel welcome and at home.

The villa is amazing and full of charm, the facilities are fantastic especially the games room and swimming pool which with children is a must.

Cannot recommend enough and will definitely be booking again for next year.

Nice house in a quite place

  • 4 of 5

Nice large house, beautiful furniture, bathrooms need some restyling. Comfortable kitchen but dishwasher too small. Beautiful, large pool but we had to ask too many time to keep it clean. No wifi at all and we had to take over our decoder to watch tv. Ask for signora Orietta she will provide everything you need. We will be back again

In Umbria, a region that has gained a name for being the green heart of Italy, tourism is growing because of the unfamiliar harmony between nature, antiquities, historic centres and culture. The quiet of the countryside, good provisions and an inimitable cuisine are the great draw. This region is less touristy than Tuscany and this is especially appreciated by many tourists. It forms an ideal starting point for enjoying the peace of the surrounding hilly and mountainous landscape and on the other hand making trips to beautifull towns like Todi, Orvieto, Narni, Spoleto, Perugia, Gubbio, Assisi. You can also easily visit – in day trips - famous towns and charming villages in the southern part of Tuscany such as Siena, Arezzo, San Giminiano, Pienza, Cortona, Sinalunga, etc. Many tourists visit also Rome from here, without staying in the city which is very hot in summer. It is possible to go by car (journey of 1h-1h30) or by train from the stations of Terni, Narni-Amelia, Orte & Orvieto.

Golf: Closest golf courses: Terni - golf club La Romita (9 holes), Sutri - golf club Le Querce (18 holes), Perugia - golf club Antognolla (18 holes), Valdichiana - golf club Valdichiana (9 holes)
