Why Kristen Salvatore chose Arden
The Sweet Mount Royal House was the first I saw when I decided to set my roots in Asheville. Due to it's unique location near the top of the mountain, it took 2 days to locate! When I finally pulled up the driveway and saw the magnificent long mountain views, I told my real estate broker, "I want it." before I even stepped foot inside. I'm so happy she's mine!
What makes this House unique
The Sweet Mount Royal House seems remote and quiet, but is actually very near many wonderful attractions – the airport, the Biltmore Estate, Biltmore Village, Biltmore Park, 2 movie theaters, Blue Ridge Parkway, a children's park, trampoline parks, gyms, and a multitude of wonderful restaurants and shopping. It's on a large wooded lot in a beautiful quiet walking neighborhood flanked by 2 private parks with hiking trails. At the bottom of the mountain is a wonderful children's park. There's a comfortable screened porch for enjoying your coffee while the mountain awakens. Grab a book and a glass of wine and head to the nearby covered sitting area. It's the best place to watch a summer shower. Or step from the screened porch onto the gravel pathway to the other fire pit with amazing views.

CHRISTMAS 2019 GETAWAY
We absolutely enjoyed our Christmas visit to the Sweet Mount Royal House! Kris had put out some decorations for our family to enjoy and that was so sweet. The house was decorated so nicely, you could tell that she put a lot of thought into every piece. It was so nice and clean and Kris was so great to work with!It was perfect for relaxation but still close enough to go places. Beautiful views of the mountains even in the winter, wish we could have had a little snow but still beautiful. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!
Ah! What a wonderful review, Christina!! I'm sure you know it was a real pleasure to have you stay at my Sweet Mount Royal House!! I loved decorating for your family ~ so much fun to hear that you loved it! The views are amazing this time of year and I'm happy you enjoyed them and visiting our beautiful Asheville mountains. Please come back soon!
Perfect place to stay!
Number of family members needed to share a place for a wedding! It was perfect. Location 10min to downtown Asheville. There were 2 firepits to enjoy the woods. Great mounview from yard. Kris left s'more makings...so kind and thoughtful. Highly recommend!!
Thank you for the wonderful review, Kimlee! It was an absolute honor to host Taylor, the groom, and his family at my Sweet Mount Royal House! I'm so happy they enjoyed the property with it's firepits and views. The wedding photos are beautiful! I hope you stay at the House again someday soon.
mountain home getaway
Nice mountain property with outdoor space to enjoy the cool mountain evenings. Owner provided directions, but Google maps worked fine as well. Check-in and checkout processes were straight forward. House is nice, kitchen had everything we needed. Location is convenient to Asheville, Hendersonville, and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Thank you for your wonderful review, Rick! I'm so happy that you enjoyed your visit to Asheville and your stay at my Sweet Mount Royal House. Loved hearing that you liked not only the House and location, but how I service my guests. So nice to hear! It really is the perfect getaway with a peaceful quiet area but near everything... or as the neighbors like to say, "the illusion of seclusion"!
We stayed at Sweet Mount Royal House, Oct.12-18. The house nice and clean, plenty of towels, lots of books and games. We made the kitchen table smaller so we would have more room in kitchen. In the morning we had a group of 8 turkeys come to visit. The walk to the firepit had some poison ivy so we keep our dog close. We would love to stay there again.
Thank you for the nice review, Rick! It was a pleasure having you, Sue and sweet Molly stay at my Sweet Mount Royal House. The path to the far firepit does go through the woods and we keep the brush cut back, but that pesky poison ivy is quite a challenge in the mountains. I'll keep an eye out for it! Glad we have the other firepit that's comfortably close for those less adventurous than yourself. Fun to hear that the turkeys came for a visit... They're a bit less dramatic than the neighborhood bears! You are VERY welcome to come visit again any time... discounted for a return stay, of course! I'd love to have you!
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was beautiful and very clean. Kris was a fantastic host and very helpful.
Awww! Thank you for your sweet review, Carly! It really was a pleasure to have you stay in my Sweet Mount Royal House. I hope you come visit again soon. I'm opening the lower level to allow for an option of another bedroom and full bath with french doors. Come back and bring more friends!
Beautiful 2 week summer trip to Asheville
We had a wonderful time in Asheville. The house is located on the perfect location. Quick 20 minute drive to downtown Asheville and centrally located to all the other area attractions. The owner really loves the house and it shows. The outdoor areas are pretty and perfect for a night by the fire or the early mornings watching the sun rise. Gorgeous views from the family room. Functional kitchen. Charming bedrooms. Only one full bathroom and one half but the half is sparkles so wasn’t a problem for our family of 4. Might be an issue if it was 6 adults sharing.
We will come again for sure.
Thank you for your wonderful review, Tarryn! It was SO much fun having you and your family stay at my house. So happy you got to use the new covered outdoor seating area and fire pit! Wonderful photos! The sunrises and sunsets are spectacular at that elevation. Once the leaves drop, it's even better with a full 180º view of the sunrise over the distant mountains ~ GORGEOUS! So far the baths have worked out great, but I am working on opening up the lower level to offer the option of another bedroom, another full bathroom, and washer/dryer to my guests. I'll keep you posted!
The Mount Royal House is set on 2 1/2 private wooded acres in the quiet rural Royal Pines walking neighborhood in the popular suburb of Arden just outside Asheville city limits. The House is flanked by 2 wonderful private parks with hiking trails and long views – Rosscraggon Woods and Collier Cove. It even has it's own private on-site trail leading to a fire pit area with long views. Being up on Mount Royal set above the hustle and bustle of the city and South side below, the House will give you the feeling of being very private and remote, however it's actually near many local attractions – the Biltmore Estate, Biltmore Village, and the city of Asheville are all right down the road. Also close by are the famous Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmore Park Town Square, Asheville airport, wonderful local restaurants, a multitude of breweries and bars, 2 movie theaters, many parks including the Bent Creek hiking/mountain biking region, popular grocery stores, and 3 trampoline parks!
