About Brenda Glasgow

We are Tim & Brenda Glasgow. We have a 10 year old son Timmy. We have lived in the area for most of our lives. We own and operate the local Heating & Air Company , Mountain Air Inc.,we have been in business since 1995. We have several rental properties and have just opened this property to be a part of the vacation rentals here in Beautiful Johnson County, Tennessee. Tim is originally from Deland Florida and Brenda's parents are originally from the Johnson County. We live just 5 minutes away from this property and will be available to help in any way possible. Why Brenda Glasgow chose Butler

This property is one unit of a 3 unit building. Each unit is unique in its floor plan. Two of the 3 units are designed to make the most of the beautiful view of Doe Creek so that each of these units literally hang over the creek. We took over this property in 2003 where Tim's mother had previously operated it as a restaurant. We completely redesigned its layout and turned it into 3 apartments. We have often thought that this property's beautiful veiws of the creek should be shared with people who may not normally live in such nature and beauty.

What makes this apartment unique

I think the thing that makes this property stand out from others is that it is a few feet from Doe Creek and Literally 2 minutes from Watauga Lake you could bring your boat and put it in at the local boat ramp just 2 miles from the property. Doe Creek is definitely one of the most beautiful creeks you could imagine. This property is literally Central to so many wonderful things to see and do. You can walk out the door and stroll across the street for a cold draft beer or go down a few steps and start fishing or playing in Doe Creeks beautiful waters. You can sit in the porch swing on the enormous out door deck that hangs over Doe Creek and just enjoy or even go to sleep listening to the beautifuly peaceful water of Doe Creek. You can bring your boat or jet ski's and put them in Watauga Lake at a beautiful public boat ramp just 2 miles away. Appalachian Trail is just fifteen minutes away if hiking is your pleasure. Bring your ATV's and spend the day at Doe Mountain ATV Park just 10 minutes away. Just 5 minutes away is the always beautiful Watauga Lake winery where you can enjoy the tasting room and even bring some wine back to the Creek with you. Just 15 minutes away is a little treasure that Mountain City has to offer in the form of SUBA'S restaraunt. This little gem is locally owned and operated by Rich & Luanne Suba. Luanne is a Pastry Chef and Rich is a master chef in his own right. Subas is easily the best restaraunt in the area if not the state of Tennessee. You can choose to stay at Creekside Haven and just enjoy what is literally at arms length or choose from the many things Johnson County Tennessee has to offer.

Very clean

Comfortable and clean. We rented a pontoon boat and spent a gorgeous day on the lake. We might have used up the views.

Wonderful Time!

Adorable apartment. Very clean and perfectly stocked with all you need for a great stay. The beds were so comfortable! Our favorite part of the stay, by far, however, was the nice deck overlooking one of the prettiest creeks I've ever seen. We just couldn't get enough of the relaxing sound of the water rushing by. Lake Watauga is beautiful and we had a fabulous dinner in Mountain City at Subas. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to be back very soon. Thanks for your attention to detail!

Pleasant stay, bad after taste.

My stay stay was lovely. The area is quite beautiful. Unfortunately the way Brenda handled matters after we left was quite rude. First she accused me of having a lot more people in the cottage than I originally told her. I told her 4 would be staying for 4 nights. As it turned out, one member of our party did not come, but I was joined by my Aunt, cousin and cousins daughter, who I hadn't seen in six years. They were with us for 2 nights only. Since the place slept 9 I didn't think this would be a problem. Well it was. I agreed to pay for the extra people, no problem.

Also, I admit I washed one of my towels with hers and it left a purple fuz on her white towels. I was hoping the fuz would come off after a second wash, but it didn't. Once again, instead of pleasantly discussing this with me, she rudely announced that she was keeping my deposit and that was the first time she had ever done that.

I have used Home Away many times and have never had my deposit withheld or been treated so rudely. Had she been civil, I would have told her I was sorry and to keep the deposit. I would also have given the property a very good review.

So rent, but beware.

Owner's Response: I keep my rates low based on 2 person occupation. I charge an extra fee for each person over two to cover the added costs of linen towels etc. This guest booked and paid for a 2 person occupation. In the contract I allowed for four. She had quite frankly an unknown number but enough to occupy every bed in the house including one twin sofa sleeper and one queen sofa sleeper and to produce enough trash to copletely fill 3 large outdoor garbage bins. So many people were there that it took my cleaning lady 2 days to put the place back in order. This guest destroyed 6 very nice towels 6 washcloths, 3 hand towels and two bath mats. If she had paid for her additional guests I would have provided enough towels. In addition to all of that the hot tub was a mess because she or one of her many guests poured soap bubbles or something like it into it. It had to be drained and scrubbed and the lines cleaned. Was I rude? I guess that is a matter of opinion. I was very frank and did not sugar coat my distress. I was taken advantage of and I did not appreciate it one bit. I have never had such a "bad taste in my mouth" after a guest left. I have never before kept even a dollar of anyone's deposit but yes I did keep every penny and believe me I wish I would have gotten a bigger deposit and I would have had she been truthful upfront. I was out a large amount of money with this guest as I do only provide high quality towels and linen for my guests and they are not cheap to replace. I also had to pay to have the hot tub repaired and set right. I guess we both learned some things. I love the fact that owners are allowed to "rate" guests now. I did just that.

The owners are very in tune with every aspect needed for families to be comfortable and happy. From the spotless living, everyday items readily available and perfect location, this place was wonderful! This is the type of place/setting that we always hope for but rarely find. WE WILL BE STAYING AGAIN SOON!

We are within one half mile of the Gorgeous Watauga Lake, the 3rd cleanest lake in the nation. Sink Valley Public Boat Ramp is a mere 2.5 miles away so bringing your boat or Jet Ski's will be no problem . We are just five minutes from Watauga Lake Winery.
