Generals Charge rests in the middle of where the Battle of Franklin took place and is walking distance to the Carter House, the Lotz House, and Historic Downtown Franklin with its award-winning shopping and dining.
This 2,200 square-foot, 3 bedroom/2 bath home was originally built in 1903 but recently renovated - offering 300-year-old reclaimed wood, a brand-new master bath w/ jacuzzi tub, rain showers/body sprayers, tankless hot water, ethernet connections, modern appliances, and a front porch + outdoor patio and fire pit.
There may be a Class A motorhome parked in the backyard between the storage shed and property bush-line where the owner works and stays sometimes.
I'm Matthew Rogers, and I am a designer/brand strategist exploring a nomadic creative lifestyle. After 10+ years of building partnership-based design businesses and working in creative agencies and startups, I began to notice a sense of stagnancy. So, I decided to invest some of the fruits of my hard work into fully renovating and renting out my historic home. I now live and travel full time in a 31-foot RV with my dog (Doris-Akin), and daughter (Ryely). Sometimes, you'll find me parked in the backyard if you need anything!
My home is a labor of love and I'm honored to share it with you. I am a 7th Generation Franklinite and co-owner of Rogers Homeport with my parents. I come from a military family (GO NAVY! BEAT ARMY!) and my father served over 30 years as a disquished Naval Officer. Together, we own and operate 3 beautiful and unique properties all located in the heart of Downtown Franklin, a short walk from everything. You won't find friendly folks to welcome you to our little city and show you the best spots to go. We are true locals with hospitable Southern charm.
Damon Rogers purchased this house in 2009
I am an artist and a designer passionate about aesthetic, but I am equally passionate about being eco-conscious - so I took great care in repurposing almost all the original materials into something new and installing green fixtures and appliances where possible.
The house was 105 years old when I purchased it in 2009 and the red oak wood that supports it was 200 years old when the trees were cut down. It is truly a one-of-a-kind home decorated with art from local artists as well as some of my own work. The halls are filled with found objects, pictures of my family and loved ones, and a variety of interesting antiques, fossils and trinkets. I was a picker by the age of 12 and it shows.
The home is located central to all that Downtown Franklin has to offer: The public library, the Carter House, a new park near a historic civil war attraction, a great sushi spot, and a lively local bar with the best burgers. Mere blocks away are antique stores and the Harpeth River canoe launch.
I have absolutely loved living on this quiet, quaint little street full of friendly neighbors and beautiful scenery - and I know you'll love it too.
Whether you need a 3 bedroom, 2 bedroom, or a studio apartment, we've got you covered!
This is an amazing home with vintage photos, unique art, and perfect location to walk around Franklin. The beds were so comfortable and the shower was a dream come true! Loved this home!
Our visit was a quick girls night. This house did not disappoint. The bathrooms really topped the cake! I would definitely stay here again.
There were 5 women and we had plenty of space. The one thing we really enjoyed was how close it was to Franklin. The weather was really nice and the walk was easy. We do this trip once a year and would definitely staff here again.
The home was decorated in unique ways with attention to detail. Since it is an older home, we had one person who could not stay in the hope because of his asthma, he had to find a hotel for the during of the conference. As stated in the information we received, parking was limited so I would not recommended it for a group. Also the price is based on two people staying, even though it sleeps 6. If you have more than two persons you will be charged and "extra person fee."
It was in a great location and was a fairly quite neighborhood.
Great home and location. I would recommend to friends and relatives.
This was an amazing historical property right in the middle of town. We were so comfortable on our "kid-free" getaway. Loved the master suite and bathroom....AMAZING! Artwork is beautiful and we felt right at home.
We are located across the street from the Franklin Public Library and next to a Civil War era park that was part of the Battle of Franklin. Walking distance to Historic Downtown Franklin.
