Overview

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cottage in Winterton-on-Sea - Beachside Cottage

2 bed, sleeps 4 - access directly onto dunes. Pets welcome & free WIFI

Situated in the quiet and picturesque village of Winterton on Sea, Beachside Cottage has been newly refurbished to a very high standard including a fitted kitchen (ceramic hoc), with double and twin bedrooms. Only 200m to sandy beach through private gate onto sand dunes from garden. Shop, post office, fish and chips and local pub nearby (families & dogs welcome). Close to broadland villages offering boat hire or Hemsby and Great Yarmouth for more lively entertainment for all the family.

Beachside Cottage & its sister cottages, Compass Cottage and Admiral Cottage are all in the heart of Winterton on Sea old village and are within a short walk of the beach, pub & shop. See them all at www.WintertonHolidayCottages.com

Set in the heart of the Norfolk Broads, Winterton on Sea offers a base to explore wildlife, is ideal for cyclists and walkers, and is well situated for visits to many historical sites including National Trust and privately owned estates. There is also a wealth of family entertainment in the surrounding areas including theme parks, outdoor activity centres, steam trains and country parks as well as many things to see and do inside as well as out.

Overlooking the sand dunes this cottage comprises hallway, living room, kitchen, conservatory, bathroom with electric shower over bath (New bathroom Jan 2009). Upstairs are two bedrooms – master with king size bed and twin bedded room both with digital colour TV's. The dining table is in the conservatory which is not suitable for use in the winter months as it is not heated, the table can however be moved into the lounge if you prefer.

Services include electric central heating, double glazing, bedding, bed linen, duvets and towels provided. Parking for two cars. Electric cooker with hob and extractor fan. Dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave. Televisions (living room 40' flat screen digital TV and digital TV in both bedrooms), video machine, DVD player (with selection of DVD's),radio, WIFI, hairdryer. Winterton on Sea is ideally placed to explore the Norfolk coastline with its quiet sandy beaches, picturesque villages, bird sanctuaries and nature reserve

Nature lovers will find the Norfolk Broads a great attraction, as will walkers and cyclists. Above all, Winterton provides an opportunity to get away from it all as its beaches and tranquillity are what make it so special.

Beachside Cottage lies in the heart of the village and is nearby the local pub, The Fisherman’s Return, a 300 year old establishment offering local ales, good food and facilities for families, including a large safe garden & welcomes dogs.

Historic Norwich lies 20 miles to the West with its fine cathedral, ancient cobbled streets and great shops. Only 25 miles north is the North Norfolk Coast and the well known towns of Cromer, Sheringham and Wells next the Sea and ten miles south lies Great Yarmouth

for family entertainment, amusements and all that is traditional for a lively English seaside resort

Beautiful place!

  • 5 of 5

This was our 4th visit to Beachside - we feel it is a real home from home. We love the position, a short walk from the beach over the dunes. The beach is dog friendly and great for walking or just sitting. The fish and chips sold in the village are to die for! Great place to relax and unwind. We have already booked for next year!

Location perfection

  • 5 of 5

Our first time in this cottage having stayed in others in Winterton but found this cottage to be the best positioned if on holiday with dogs. We have two dogs and found the back garden gate straight onto the dunes was perfect. A long walk along the beach every day of our holiday meant the dogs are now exhausted, and so are we! We went to the Fishermans Return most evenings to eat, drink and relax and found the short walk was just enough. The cottage itself was clean, tidy and had a lovely welcome pack waiting for us on arrival. We never used the second bedroom but did have a peep in there and found that to be prepared to the same high standard. Overall I can honestly recommend Beachside Cottage for a holiday or even a long stay and my next time in Winterton will be here too, if I can get booked in this popular property.

Splendid

  • 5 of 5

Our first visit to Beachside but hopefully not the last.

My wife myself and our English Springer Spaniel *Bertie*.

The location is just right and cottage is first class and the amenities are everything you could possibly require .

The garden leads straight onto the sand dunes and to the sea and to a just over one year old full of life Springer its paradise.

Reading other reviews some mention the local fish and chip shop and comment on how wonderful it is Mmmmmmm maybe we caught it on a bad day as what we had was close to being uneatable. And extremely poor quality .But of course this is not any reflection on Beachside.

Can only recommend this cottage especially if you wish to take your dog on holiday with you.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your great review, it's always nice to know guests have enjoyed their time at our properties, shame about the chip shop perhaps as you say a bad day, but hopefully made up for by the fun Bertie the Springer had on the dunes and beach. Hope to see you again soon.

Another great stay!

  • 5 of 5

This was our third stay at Beachside and it did not disappoint. The cottage is a real home from home, and is close to the fab sandy beach. The weather was good, the food was great and we enjoyed a boat trip on the Broads. Thank you for the welcome pack, we love the little treats, and it's great to have milk in the fridge when you arrive. We are looking forward to our next stay in July!

Perfect !

  • 5 of 5

I actually live in the area, and rented Beachside Cottage as a treat for my parents, who had been under the weather.

Couldn't fault the cottage, immaculate inside and out. Perfect garden for their Jack Russell Patch, who likes to jump! as garden very secure. It was a real treat being able to walk straight out onto the dunes each morning.

Fish and chips amazing as always from Winterton Fish Bar, Had a really lovely lunch at the Nelsons Head in Horsey.. fantastic rural pub.. very rustic.

My parents cant wait to book again and stay a little longer this time.

Many Thanks

Nina Brown.

Great seaside getaway

  • 5 of 5

Beachside cottage is a perfectly located property backing directly onto the dunes, which is great for people with dogs. The cottage itself is very well presented, tidy and cosy. The beach walks are great and the seals were a surprise bonus. Winterton itself is a quite place with a nice local pub serving great food !
