Originally 2 rural houses Cortijo Los Pelaes has been sympathetically rebuilt to the highest of specifications using a blend of old and new Andalusia styles. With 378 sq/m of internal space & 4 private terraces it offers luxury holiday accommodation for 2 families in complete comfort.

The house has been furnished and equipped to the highest of standards and provides a true 'home away from home' experience, a 9m private pool with stunning mountains as the backdrop and an expansive paved pool surround and garden terracing. The Cortijo is approached up a short track which sees minimal traffic other than the occasional farmer on his tractor. Olive groves and mountains make up the scenery with the village of Rosario in the distance. Rosario has all the necessary amenities including petrol, bank, supermarkets, butchers, bakers, tapas bars, and restaurants.

We are one of the few properties in the area officially certified by Ministry of Tourism in 2016 as a 'Rural tourism house' of the highest standard.

Coast Beach: We are 30 mins north of Malaga and the busy tourist destinations of Costa de Del Sol. Waterparks, beaches, Scuba diving, international boutiques and nightlife abound.

Skiing: Only 1 hours drive and you reach the skiing worlds best kept secret - Sierra Nevada. As Europe's most southerly ski resort with extensive snow making machines you will enjoy sun drenched skiing with views of the Atlas mountains in Africa. The season runs through until early April and ski schools in Sierra Nevada speak English and are very friendly. The owners can recommend suitable establishments.

Outdoor activities: The local countryside affords the traveler great opportunities to discover Spain's wildlife, bird life and fauna. The landscape is ideal for walking, cycling, fishing and horse riding.

In summer you can climb the second highest mountain in Spain; El Veleta @ 3335m in the Sierra Nevada range.

Flamingos and storks breed in the surrounding lakes. Trout fishing and caviar can be found in nearby Riofrio or you can simply climb the mountains in front of the property or just wander the endless olive groves.

'Home from home' unlike so many rental properties Los Pelaez is equipped to high standard with everything you would find at home. The kitchen boosts a dishwasher , microwave and Siemens double oven. The picturesque location with mountain views are breathtaking and at night you can experience a wonderful clear nights sky to star gaze. A rural property, but yet easily accessible to all that Andalusia has to offer historical cities, food, wines, beaches etc.

A wonderful holiday in a wonderful villa-paradise! Arrival date 27/6/2015.

We were a party of 10 who enjoyed the most amazing 11 nights in this beautiful villa. The villa was a short drive from Malaga and we arrived to the most spectacular views.

The property was spotless and well equipped for a party as large as ours, and there was ample room for us all.

The pool was fantastic and the children and adults enjoyed this immensely in the warm Malaga sun.

Rob, the manager, answered our queries very promptly and he and his wife were welcoming and friendly.

We would thoroughly recommend this beautiful property and I'm sure we will be back again in the future.

  • Bedroom 4 has a sleeping area on a mezzanine level which is accessed via a steep wooden staircase (with banister and gate at the top). The restricted height mezzanine sleeping area has 1 double futon designed to sleep 1 teenager or 2 smaller children but we don’t consider it is suitable for children under 6 yrs old due to the steep stairs. The downstairs areas has 2 single beds. The mezzanine level also gets hot during July and August as it is at the top of the house with heat rising during the day. The A/C just does not seem to cool it down very effectively during August. Three of the bedrooms all enjoy large private first floor terraces which are safe for children and have lovely views. Travel cot and high chair available on request. All bedrooms have independent AC/heating units. All windows have blinds, double glazed and built in mosquito nets.

We have WiFI. There is a wood burning fireplace in the sitting room which makes the house ideal for winter months. We offer 80+ international channel including BBC and ITV channels, DVD player, PS2 with some games, CD and stereo system as well as a beautiful 7ft pool table. Lots of books, CD's, games and DVDs to keep everyone entertained. A high chair, booster chair, stair gates and travel cot are all available on request. Children are very welcome. The house has 4 large terraces, 2 on the ground floor and 2 off the upstairs bedrooms. The pool and garden area include 450m of non slip tiled terracing around the pool, indigenous garden areas with Cactus and bright flowers and a large fixed BBQ. Additionally there is a secluded rear 'Sevilla' patio, a outside laundry room with washing machine and dryer and a outside cloakroom and shower for use when swimming. Underground garage with remote control gates provides secure parking for 2 cars & keeps them cool in summer month

Beautiful mansion home for lush vacation away

Brilliant mansion with pool and huge dinner tables and cosy sofas to snuggle up on. Something for everyone with fantastic mountain views! Travelled to lots of cities from here on day exscursions to Nerja, Granada, Seville and Cordoba. Highly recommended to family and friends alike.

Large and nice villa in the countryside north of Malaga, Spain

We spent 10 days of a wonderful vacation in this large villa in September-October 2017. We were four adults and two children. The villa can take another couple. We used only the top floor three bedrooms and bathrooms. The pool, barbecue, pool table, computer games, kitchen, washing machine were used and made our vacation very enjoyable. We only suffered from an ants problem in the kitchen. The location of the villa made it easy for visiting Seville, Ronda, Antequera, Malaga, Cordoba, Granada and Marbella, each in about an hour drive.

Peace and tranquility with great facilities

This villa is very well maintained. It is clean and comfortable with everything you may need for a relaxing break. There is a large well equipped kitchen and plenty of fridge space. The pool is well maintained and does not contain a lot of chemicals. There is a wide variety of games and a pool table. The internet connection was excellent. The satellite tv was not available during our stay. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. There are a few different seating areas outside and plenty of loungers round the pool. The water went off at one point for a few hours but this wasn't that inconvenient. You will definitely need a car, it is a 20-25 minute walk into the village although this is quite strenuous for older people. There are a number of bars and restaurants but most places don't serve food until 8-30/9. We also drove into Trebuco a few times which has a bigger selection of places to eat and is only a five minute drive. We also drove to Antequera a few times and went to the supermarket there and ate at the bull ring and a couple of other very good places. The villa is well placed to visit Granada, Seville and we visited Cordoba which was about 1h 20 minutes away and well worth it. We also visited the flamingoes but there was not much water and they were quite a way away. We were well looked after at the villa and I would definitely recommend it if you want peace and quiet.

Lovely home, well equipped in a peaceful location.

We stayed as a family group with two toddlers. Alyson couldn't be more helpful in making sure we were well accommodated, from cots being up and highchairs out, to helping sort out plans for a special birthday while we were there.

The house, pool and garden are lovely, offering spacious and comfortable accomodation throughout.

The local area was delightful. Just a short drive to a couple of different towns, brimming with choice for fab restaurants. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Nice property. Well maintained. Great views.

A well maintained property. Very clean. We were a party of 8 and had plenty of room. Had a little trouble with washing machine since there are no directions in English. You will have to drive if you want to visit the major cities of Andalusia. Granada is an hour away. Sevilla is a little over 2 hours and Córdoba an hour and a half. That said the roads are good and the property is close to main highway but far enough away for peace and quiet. Owner had a lot of good information about the area. Caretaker met us at the house with the keys. Would recommend this property to a friend.

The property is located in a typical white washed Andalusian rural village of Villanueva del Rosario surround by spectacular mountains and endless sweeping olive groves. Fiestas in August culminate in bulls running the streets. The historic town of Antequera is 20 mins away and has many attractions like its Bullring, Tapas bars, weekly market, the newly opened Antequera golf course, Wolf Park and El Torcal National Park. Archidonas 18th centrury Plaza Ochavada and monastry are 15mins. Malaga airport, shops and beaches are 30 mins away. Granada is 80 kms drive with its famous Alhambra palace. Only 1 hours drive and you reach the skiing worlds best kept secret - Sierra Nevada. As Europe's most southerly ski resort with extensive snow making machines you will enjoy sun drenched skiing with views of the Atlas mountains in Africa. In summer you can camp in the Sierra Nevada national park and walk to the peak 'Veleta' 3394m. Rio Frio, famous caviar and trout farms is 20 mins drive away.

Golf: Andalusia as a whole offers some wonderful Golf courses all within driving distance from Cortijo Los Pelaes. Closest is the newly opened Antequera Golf course which is located 25 mins drive and offers spectacular hilltop golfing with stunning rural mountain views and lush greens.

Ski: The Sierra Nevada mountain range and ski resort is the most southerly in Europe and can be reached within 1 hour drive from the Villa. With views of Africa and the Atlas mountains and the highest percentage of sunny days you will enjoy great skiing.

Refundable Damage Deposit £250

There are no local taxes but we do require a safety deposit of £250 against and damage and breakages, loss of keys or remote controls for garage etc. This is payable at final payment stage four weeks before arrival and refunded by the owner once satisfied that no charges have incurred up to four weeks after departure.
During the cold winter months of December - March we add a £200 levy to cover logs and the additonal cost of heating.

Other services including shopping, babysitting, extra cleaning, logs, taxis.
