I am a university professor and a Trader. Having experienced the joys of both travel and staying in other people's homes, I have the right perspective to put my guests at their ease. I am a Canadian. I grew up in a hamlet north of my university city, Edmonton. When I picked up and moved to Australia, a new world opened up for me. Since then, I have enjoyed experiencing various cultures and cuisines.
Geri Girardin purchased this house in 2015
I loved this property from the moment I became aware of it. I like the Santa Fe style of architecture. I think it fits in well into the desert landscape. Additionally, the home is furnished in a modern, clean unobstructed way which delights me and I'm sure it will delight you, too.
I got a big kick out of the cowboy spa and then, when evening fell and the stars appeared above the twinkling lights of Joshua Tree in the distance, it took my breath away. As a city girl now for many years, I had forgotten how vast and deep the sky is. I mean, I know this intellectually but to experience it viscerally - wow!
We had a wonderful stay here over Thanksgiving break. Our family traveled from Colorado for a week of climbing in Joshua Tree, but we also wanted a home base with a kitchen and more room for everyone. The house is wonderful and the property is spacious with a great deck. I stayed home one day while my family climbed and it actually took me about a half hour to get used to the silence. It was so amazing and such an incredible experience to have such quiet and peaceful surroundings. The only noise were the quail that came across the property all day and other birds.
The house has a great set up with three bedrooms and three baths and a great open floor plan. It worked very well for our family. Geri is an amazing host and upon arrival we were welcomed with a gift basket with wine and sparkling water and individual baskets in each room full of little thoughtful things that we might need or may have forgotten. When I mentioned that I loved the quail, she had a container of feed delivered so that we could attract them to stay on the property. It was so much fun. She was amazing at all texting back and answering my questions. I texted her to ask where the toaster was and she replied that they did not have one and that we could use the oven. I replied with "Ok, thanks" and we did that for that morning. When we came out of the park that evening, there was a brand new toaster on the porch! She told me that she wants to be sure her guests have everything they need. It was amazing.
We definitely recommend this home. Remember it is in a quiet environment and there are neighbors spread out over the surrounding area and noise travels, so you do need to be quiet during quiet hours. It was great to come back to a house every day after climbing in the park. The peacefulness and quiet were such a pleasure for us.
Me and my two sisters stayed at the house so we all had our own bedrooms and bathrooms which was very convenient and the layout and décor was beautiful. Very comfortable and peaceful setting. Enjoyed the hammock and the backyard and we used the bbq to entertain more family members that came. We would recommend the house very much. Because of its remote location no Wifi or cable was available which we would of preferred. The owner was very accommodating and helpful during our stay.
The property owner: Geri
Geri created an amazing home. If you are planning a trip to Joshua tree, I definitely recommend staying here . The house was immaculate and stocked with everything you need... she even left us a welcoming bag with a lovely bottle of wine.. Geri takes pride in her property and it sure shows!
The Property: Quail Crossing
This unique property offers its guests the experience you are looking for when visiting Joshua Tree. The open layout of the home is extremely inviting and also serves as a great place to turn on some music and dance the night away.
The property itself, is the most magical part. You walk out to the backyard to and there is an amazing fire-pit to enjoy with the rest of your guests. There is also a reflection area, a hammock and my favorite... THE COWBOY TUB. After hiking all day through the National Park the first thing I looked forward to was hopping in the tub. The piece and quiet of the surrounding mountains allows you to think and just relax... it was truly amazing.
When calling it a night, the beds in the home are extremely comfortable! Geri sets you up with a lovely guest basket filled with water, toothbrush, towels and and many other things that you may need.
I look forward to my next visit to Joshua Tree and I will definitely be staying at this home again. Thanks again Geri!
This home is ideal for those seeking peace and tranquility in the desert. From the moment you walk in you find the home welcoming with its cleanliness and vast modern living space. This house is well kept and well appointed with furnishings and all the extras you would find in a five star hotel. After hiking at Joshua Tree National Park (about ten miles away), you look forward to coming back to this house to relax in the cowboy tub or strike up the fire pit and enjoy the star filled sky. In the morning, start your day with a cup of coffee on the back porch and watch the desert come alive with wildlife -- road runners, quail, humming birds, jack rabbits, coyote. You even have acres of your own mountains in the back yard to hike. I would suggest coming to the house first to check out everything in the kitchen before going to the store to stock up, because there is a lot provided. This owner has thought of everything to make your stay most enjoyable.
Such a beautiful home nestled in the hills outside of Joshua Tree. We were close enough to get to things as needed, but far away to enjoy some real peace and quiet. The house was clean, and bright and the hostess Geri ensured that every need of ours was met. She even had a gift bag waiting for us. A definite must see!
Quail Crossing was exactly what we were hoping for. We wanted some solitude without being too far away from Joshua Tree national park. The house was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need and Geri has everything so well organized. It was such an easy and enjoyable experience for my wife and I. I would thoroughly recommend this VRBO
Joshua Tree National Park is just down the road a spell.
