I am a university professor and a Trader. Having experienced the joys of both travel and staying in other people's homes, I have the right perspective to put my guests at their ease. I am a Canadian. I grew up in a hamlet north of my university city, Edmonton. When I picked up and moved to Australia, a new world opened up for me. Since then, I have enjoyed experiencing various cultures and cuisines.
Geri Girardin purchased this house in 2015
I loved this property from the moment I became aware of it. I like the Santa Fe style of architecture. I think it fits in well into the desert landscape. Additionally, the home is furnished in a modern, clean unobstructed way which delights me and I'm sure it will delight you, too.
I got a big kick out of the cowboy spa and then, when evening fell and the stars appeared above the twinkling lights of Joshua Tree in the distance, it took my breath away. As a city girl now for many years, I had forgotten how vast and deep the sky is. I mean, I know this intellectually but to experience it viscerally - wow!
Fun, stylish, clean property! Spent two days here with my wife and three young kids. Great short hikes, wildlife everywhere. Geri really cares about your experience. Thanks Geri!
3 generations of family visiting from England to this stunning hideaway.
The reviews certainly don't lie.
Thank you Geri for being the perfect host.
We loved the serene location observing the pottering quails and jack rabbits & of course the stunning sunrises & sunsets.
Extremely clean, beautifully decorated & exceptional personal touches throughout. Perfect location for exploring Joshua Tree and then returning to your own blissful sanctuary.
Would suit couples & families alike.
Will definitely be looking to return in the future.
Our 2 families of 4 had a fun weekend here. Bedding was great; we enjoyed looking at the quail and many other birds and wildlife on the property. There was plenty of room to play games and cook meals. Too cold for us to use the cowboy spa, but the property is gorgeous! Geri made us feel very welcome.
We had a marvelous stay at Quail Crossing. Upon our arrival we were greeted with the sweetest welcome note, a bottle of white wine and Perrier. Everything was sparkling and very organized, labeled and easily accessible. Geri, even put together a great guide to the house and the surrounding regions. We were constantly surprised by lovely notes and sweet touches, like a complementary tea drawer and a very complete toiletry kit.
The location and grounds were beautiful. We loved walking up the hill in the back of the house to watch the amazing sunrise and sunset.
Quail Crossing is a magical place that Geri transformed into a 5-star stay!!!! Will recommend to all our friends!
We had a terrific few days between hiking Joshua Tree and enjoying Geri's home/property. The pictures don't lie and neither do the prior reviews. The house is very clean and extraordinarily well organized. I want to fly Geri to New York to organize my kitchen. The house feels very private and the property lends itself to relaxing, star gazing, sitting at the fire pit, climbing the rocks in the back, etc. The house is especially good for 2 families which we were. There are 3 bathrooms which is amazing. Two main bedrooms and a room in the middle with bunk beds which was great for the 4 kids (even the 2 teens didn't mind). Geri was also a lovely host, available for guidance at any time. I would not hesitate to recommend this property.
We had a wonderful stay here over Thanksgiving break. Our family traveled from Colorado for a week of climbing in Joshua Tree, but we also wanted a home base with a kitchen and more room for everyone. The house is wonderful and the property is spacious with a great deck. I stayed home one day while my family climbed and it actually took me about a half hour to get used to the silence. It was so amazing and such an incredible experience to have such quiet and peaceful surroundings. The only noise were the quail that came across the property all day and other birds.
The house has a great set up with three bedrooms and three baths and a great open floor plan. It worked very well for our family. Geri is an amazing host and upon arrival we were welcomed with a gift basket with wine and sparkling water and individual baskets in each room full of little thoughtful things that we might need or may have forgotten. When I mentioned that I loved the quail, she had a container of feed delivered so that we could attract them to stay on the property. It was so much fun. She was amazing at all texting back and answering my questions. I texted her to ask where the toaster was and she replied that they did not have one and that we could use the oven. I replied with "Ok, thanks" and we did that for that morning. When we came out of the park that evening, there was a brand new toaster on the porch! She told me that she wants to be sure her guests have everything they need. It was amazing.
We definitely recommend this home. Remember it is in a quiet environment and there are neighbors spread out over the surrounding area and noise travels, so you do need to be quiet during quiet hours. It was great to come back to a house every day after climbing in the park. The peacefulness and quiet were such a pleasure for us.
Joshua Tree National Park is just down the road a spell.
