About Aaron Wilburn or Vincent Beasley

Just a couple of families that enjoy getting outside or taking a relaxing boat ride up the river to enjoy a meal at a downtown restaurant. The Beasley's and the Wilburn's have a passion for having fun outdoors and teaching their children the same.

When they are not providing healthcare services, putting people under anesthesia, preparing tax returns or engineering electrical stuff, they are spending time with family and friends or trying to fit in the next mountain bike ride between soccer practice and swim lessons.

Aaron Wilburn or Vincent Beasley purchased this house in 2015

Why Aaron Wilburn or Vincent Beasley chose Chattanooga

Everything about this place screams fun for our families whether kayaking suck creek, fishing on the Tennessee River or watching the waterfront concerts of River Bend or Riverfront Nights after a day of wakeboarding...we just couldn't resist, after all we get to enjoy it just as much as our guests!

The Beasley's and the Wilburn's purchased this property in hopes of providing a hub for others to enjoy all of the activities that they love about Chattanooga.

What makes this house unique

River Access: Private Dock out the back door and Public Boat Ramp within 200 yards.

Proximity to Activities: Hiking, Kayaking, Fishing, Swimming, Boating, Climbing...and just about anything you can think of.

You just don'f find places this close to downtown and on the water!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Wow, just wow! The Tennessee River House is amazing! We came out for our son's wedding, and it couldn't have been more perfect! We hosted the rehearsal dinner, and we had plenty of space and everything we needed to pull it off. The weather was perfect (even for January), so people enjoyed the fire pit and hanging out on the decks. It was very comfortable, and the view was absolutely gorgeous! We had plenty of sleeping space for everyone and plenty of space in the driveway for the cars. We are already talking about planning a family summer trip back out, and we will be staying here!! Thank you, Aaron, for opening your beautiful home to us ~ it's a weekend we will never forget!

Fantastic family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 16 (10 adults, 6 children) vacationed in Chattanooga over New Years weekend and had the good fortune of booking this location that was the perfect size to accommodate us! The listing description is very accurate and the owners are well organized and excellent communicators. The location is a short 10 minute drive North of downtown near the base of Signal Mountain. Check-in was scheduled for 4pm and we contacted the owners in advance to see if the house would be ready by noon as we were arriving early. Aaron was quick to respond and told us the place would already be cleaned and ready. This was a great way to start our trip!

The property is very well maintained and clean. It has three floors with the main floor having a bedroom with two queen beds, a large kitchen, two dining areas, and a living room with a Smart TV and Blueray/DVD player. We were able to log into our Netflix account using the Smart TV. The upstairs has two bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, and the downstairs has three beds (perfect for a kids room), and a separate room with a fold out couch and a Foosball table. The weather was overcast and rainy for a lot of our stay so we purchased lots of firewood and watched movies and cooked meals. There is a large dock in the back as well as an outdoor fire pit, which we also used quite often when it wasn't raining.

I would recommend this location to any large family (10-16 people) who is looking for a way to experience Chattanooga and have a quiet place to retire to at the end of the day. It is peaceful and private but is still very close to everything you need. Grocery, Wal-Mart, restaurants, etc... all within a 5 minute drive (don't miss Shuford's Smokehouse!). The owners operate www.stayandplaychattanooga.com, which includes this property and another one a few miles up the road.

The only issue we encountered during our stay was the DVD player wasn't working and I only mention it because the owner (Aaron) was extremely responsive and personally delivered a replacement DVD player the same day. I have been partially responsible for a vacation rental in Florida over the years and I can tell you there is no greater feeling than the owners going out of their way to ensure you have the best possible experience.

Great location but home needs a thorough cleaning

  • 1 of 5

So this is my second time renting this house. The location is great for an annual girl's trip that I coordinate. The rooms give us ample space to spread out. And though the driveway is tricky, it can hold all of our cars. But this is my last time renting this place. The house is filthy. It should be scrubbed and/or inspected from top to bottom. Previous visitors left a bag of trash in the receptacle near the fridge. And I'm pretty sure the floor wasn't mopped prior to our arrival. Cobwebs in corners...bugs in interior lights. Plus, we had to fight off swarms of fruit flies from the minute we opened the door. One guest was completely disgusted when she went to dry off with a folded towel (the dark purple one) that was covered in hair. But the last straw was the rat turds (I suspect the pullout sofa may have a few surprises within it.) The place is just dirty. If the owners are paying for a cleaning crew then those folks should be fired.

The space also needs some repairs. The living room sectional has a busted cushion/section. One guest practically fell to the floor because the springs have just given completely away. The main floor shower pan is cracked. A patch has been applied but the sealant did not do the trick. One of us pinched her foot stepping into the shower before realizing there was essentially a hole in it. That pan has to be replaced not patched. It cannot bare any amount of weight.

I would not recommend staying here until the owners add a "recently renovated" tag.

Owner's Response: Needless to say we are disappointed that your stay turned out that way. Out of hundreds of guests we have never had anyone describe that type of experience at one of our houses. We always strive to provide a clean comfortable stay and take it very seriously if a guest feels this was not provided. I can assure you that we will be immediately investigating and addressing each one of these complaints. We have never seen signs of any rodents or been told by our cleaners or previous guests of any, but we will certainly be on the lookout and promptly handle anything we might find. We will also continually reevaluate and monitor the cleaning job to make sure it is to a high standard. We do thank you for staying with us and we hope that you give us another chance in the future. We are daily working toward our goal of having the most desirable vacation rental in the Chattanooga area.

Great Place for a Mountains Bachelorette Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

The Chattanooga Tennessee River House was an amazing location for me and my girls to kick back and celebrate an upcoming wedding! There was TONS of space and the home offered everything we needed. It's close to downtown, even though you feel like you're a million miles away. Overall, I would book this place again in a heartbeat. You should too!

Looking for a weekend outdoor activity mecca or a first-rate family vacation spot? Chattanooga has an overwhelming offering of fun and activities for everyone.

Located right on the banks of the Tennessee River in the Tennessee River Gorge, you can wave at the Gorge Explorer cruises from your deck while sipping coffee in the mornings, getting to stay in the very spot that most are paying to tour. Minutes from downtown by car or by boat and even closer to world-class hiking, climbing, fishing, kayaking, biking…you name it…you’re in the middle of it at this river abode!

Downtown Chattanooga is the place to be for entertainment with numerous restaurants and bars and free live music every Friday night all summer at Nightfall, and every Saturday night at Riverfront Nights. In addition, events like Riverbend, 3 sisters Bluegrass Festival, Southern Brewers Festival, movies in Coolidge Park, and several other live music venues like Track 29 and Rhythm and Brews provide something to do year round. This is the best rental property in the city for accessing those events by car or boat.

Chattanooga truly has become a premier vacation spot for those seeking the adrenaline of hang-gliding off of Lookout Mountain or riding the scenic incline up to Ruby Falls with your kids. Just a few of the things to do while here include See Rock City (you’ve seen the barn roofs), Ruby Falls, Tennessee Aquarium (Fresh and Salt Water), The Creative Discovery Museum, Hunter Museum of American Art, Southern Belle Riverboat, Civil War History tours and much more.

Maybe you are here for more of a competitive nature, Chattanooga hosts the 3 State 3 Mountain Challenge cycling event, two Ironman Events, the Chattajack, the Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon, 7 Bridges Marathon and many more events that utilize the mountains and rivers that surround the city.

If you prefer to relax at the house, you can enjoy swimming, boating, kayaking, Stand-up-paddle boarding and fishing right from the dock. Take a 3 minute ride up the road and you have hiking, Four-wheeling, climbing and whitewater kayaking along the Cumberland trail, Prentice Cooper State Park, The Tennessee Wall and Suck Creek.

Chattanooga has become a bass fishing hot spot with 40 plus pound 5-fish tournament hauls, and the state record largemouth caught here in 2015. Incredible bass fishing on this portion of the Tennessee River has placed Lake Chickamauga as the number 5 ranked bass fishing lake in the country. Access this fishing from the back door of this property.

Trails abound here with hiking and mountain biking opportunities at Raccoon Mountain, Five Points, Stringers Ridge, Enterprise South, Prentice Cooper, the Cumberland Trail, and Lookout Mountain just to name a few. Whitewater is year round with the Ocoee River, Hiwassee River, Suck Creek, North Chickamauga Creek, Mullens Creek, Bear Creek and many more. Something for every skill level.

Chattanooga is the best rock climbing city in the eastern United States due to crags like T-Wall, Deep Creek, Sunset Rock, Stone Fort, Rocktown, Suck Creek Canyon, and many more in close proximity to this rental

I don’t think it needs any more convincing, come and see for yourself and book a vacation at this unbelievable location!
