|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
What could be better than sitting in a comfortable chair with a good book & a glass of wine...or a cup of coffee/tea...or a pint from the local brewery...and listening to the waves roll in?? This suite sits just feet from the edge of Lake Superior and immerses you into the culture of Grand Marais. A mini fridge, a coffee maker and a microwave are in place for your morning pick-me up, too. Walk next door for one of the most amazing breakfasts you'll ever have at Sydney's & dine on their rooftop deck. Voted "2015's Coolest Small Town in America", Grand Marais boasts a large artist's community, fine dining, live music, theater, outdoor adventure, interesting shopping choices, grocery stores and a fabulous co-op. Take a class at the infamous North House Folk School, rock hunt the hours away, drive to the nearest trailhead just a couple of miles away and hit the Superior Hiking Trail, charter a fishing boat or put your name on the list to sail the Hjordis, sign up for a scenic airplane ride. OR...stay in and do nothing except listen to the water and feel the breeze!
It rained almost the entire time we were here but it didn't dampen our spirits for this beautiful place or for Grand Marais! The studio cottage has all you need for a cozy and comfortable stay. The bed was comfortable, the view was amazing and the location could not have been better, close to everything but with a private beach that makes you feel you are away from it all. We would love to return someday!
This is the third time we have stayed at this vrbo. It has been wonderful being there each and every time. We absolutely love the location, amenities, ambience (we love unique 1900 homes) and solitude offered here. You can step out the front door and walk to any type of eating place you would choose or stay in and just enjoy the view.
This is an amazing space to stay and one of the best views of Lake Superior in town. It's basically a hotel room setup but in a private building and only two rooms available. I had originally been searching different VRBO's on the North Shore between Duluth and Grand Marais. When I clicked into this space I immediately knew it was probably a top three VRBO choice on the North Shore for two people. I may be a little bias but I now believe it's number one. Private parking area, an amazing private beach - definitely utilize the fire pit if you're a fan of campfires, and the best view of a Lake Superior sunrise without having to leave the comfort of your bed, just open your eyes in time. Easy walking access to everywhere in town and there is an abundance of maps, coupons, North Shore, books, ect. provided by the owners and/or past guests stacked in one of the corners. I booked this to have a North Shore getaway and propose to my girlfriend (now fiance') and the space was perfect. After a long day of hiking up and down different areas on 61, we ended at Temperance State Park where she said yes! We then headed back to town and caught dinner at the Angry Trout before having a campfire on the beach - it was perfect. This place a gem for any northshore couple looking for a place to stay while celebrating their honeymoon, anniversary or any other special occasion. We'll definitely try to stay here again. Enjoy!
We stayed here on our first trip to Grand Marais for our honeymoon in the middle of August. We were immediately impressed with the view from the window inside the vacation home. The large window facing the private beach had an INCREDIBLE view! We were able to watch the sunrise every morning without even getting out of bed. The location of the home was also great. We were right between Artist's Point and downtown Grand Marais. We could walk anywhere we needed to go! The room itself was cozy and toiletries were provided. We enjoyed seeing people's suggestions as to where we should visit or eat on the chalk board as well :) There was no full kitchen, which we were a bit concerned about before our trip, but the mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee pot were all we needed (especially because there are SO many great restaurants in Grand Marais). The private beach wasn't completely private as people (and geese) would often walk through it. This didn't seem to bother us though. We had a great trip and can't imagine staying anywhere else!
All arrangements were easy. Appreciated the mini fridge, coffee pot, and wine glasses. Nice to be able to breakfast and snack in the room. Makes it possible to get by on one meal out a day. Lots of great choices in Grand Marais for that! The only thing we missed were a few utensils, especially spoons to eat yogurt or stir coffee, and a decent knife to cut cheese. Bring those with and you're good to go!
Cute cabin, clean and comfortable. Not as private as we would have liked. Right in town. Walking to all restaurants, stores and points of interest was a plus. A TV would have been nice. Coffee in bed was great as the sun came up.
You'll fall in love with this waterfront condo. East Beach Hideaway sits directly on the shore of the amazing Lake Superior. It's located right in the heart of downtown Grand Marias....voted 2015's "Coolest Small Town in America"! Just a short walk to the popular Artist's Point where you can journey out onto the pier and see the lighthouse and the waves in their glory. Everything Grand Marais has to offer is within walking distance which makes it very easy to dine, shop & sight-see and not have to fuss with parking. Some of the most beautiful spots on the North Shore are merely a few miles away and the hiking trails are very nearby as well. Whether you want to hike, ski, snowshoe, fish, shop, relax, read....it'd be tough to find a better spot to call base camp!
