We're intrepid travelers from Northern New Jersey with a passion for the outdoors and a love of exploring. Even after traveling the world, we kept coming back to the Adirondacks to get our minds centered and souls re-energized. We love this area year round - from the challenging ski runs of Gore Mountain to taking all-day summer hikes with our dog Puck.
Kim Schwartz purchased this house in 2014
After taking vacations in the area for the past 10 years, we've finally decided to create our dream home in the Adirondacks. We most of all wanted a place that would allow a large group of people to come together and be comfortable under one roof, without giving up any of the comforts of home. That's why we've updated the place with a modern design, the latest technology, and tons of conveniences. We've fallen in love with the Gore Mountain region - we hope our home will help you fall for it too.
We think this place has exactly the right balance between "getting away from it all" and "being a part of the town." We're only 3 miles from Gore Mountain, but still tucked enough away that you truly feel like you're in the outdoors. We worked hard to put luxury features throughout without losing the allure of the Adirondacks. Casper beds, modern furniture, DirecTV, a 12 foot movie screen, and High Speed Internet are balanced by a huge firepit, wraparound deck, and the Straightbrook River just 50 feet from the front door. It's the modern equivalent of an Adirondack Camp.
Plenty of space for 2 families and 5 minutes to the mountain. The media room is amazing and everything feels brand new. we had a great time !!!
Wonderful time. Wouldn't change a thing. Thanks so much.
We loved staying at this beautiful home. Even with the temperatures dropping down to -20 the house was very comfortable and provided a perfect home base for our weekend getaway with the family. The owners are excellent and were a tremendous help!!!
We stayed during the Labor Day weekend and had a very nice stay in Kim's beautiful and comfortable home. Kim was great about contacting me and making sure everything was ok. She had detailed instructions regarding her home that was helpful. The house is very private and the area is beautiful with much to do and explore. We experienced a very comfortable stay with all the amenities we needed. I would highly recommend staying in Kim's home!
Positives - The house is very nice and for the most part clean. It is close to Gore Mountain and in the winter I could see this house being the perfect location. The house offers a lot of space and the layout is really nice.
Negatives:
1. There is no water pressure (so more than one person cannot take a shower).
2. There is an expectation of cleaning up but no cleaning supplies are provided and at 500.00 a night I would believe this would be included (such as dish sponge, supplies to clean the grill, paper towels).
3. The basement is very cold - so we could not have the children sleep down there.
4. Far from Lake George (about 40 minutes)
Very nice! Loved fire pit and media room. Enjoyed it all!
The Gore Mountain Area is home to year-round fun and excitement. If you love the outdoors, opportunities for skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, hiking, kayaking, SUPing, mountain biking and whitewater rafting surround the area. And during your downtime, there are incredible restaurants and shopping in downtown North Creek less than 5 minutes away.
