We're intrepid travelers from Northern New Jersey with a passion for the outdoors and a love of exploring. Even after traveling the world, we kept coming back to the Adirondacks to get our minds centered and souls re-energized. We love this area year round - from the challenging ski runs of Gore Mountain to taking all-day summer hikes with our dog Puck.
Kim Schwartz purchased this house in 2014
After taking vacations in the area for the past 10 years, we've finally decided to create our dream home in the Adirondacks. We most of all wanted a place that would allow a large group of people to come together and be comfortable under one roof, without giving up any of the comforts of home. That's why we've updated the place with a modern design, the latest technology, and tons of conveniences. We've fallen in love with the Gore Mountain region - we hope our home will help you fall for it too.
We think this place has exactly the right balance between "getting away from it all" and "being a part of the town." We're only 3 miles from Gore Mountain, but still tucked enough away that you truly feel like you're in the outdoors. We worked hard to put luxury features throughout without losing the allure of the Adirondacks. Casper beds, modern furniture, DirecTV, a 12 foot movie screen, and High Speed Internet are balanced by a huge firepit, wraparound deck, and the Straightbrook River just 50 feet from the front door. It's the modern equivalent of an Adirondack Camp.
Thank you Kim for allowing us to host our wedding at your beautiful home. It rained the night before the wedding but the sun shone down on us for our special day and allowed us to take some lovely intimate pictures in the garden and from the balcony. The house was exactly as described and there was lots of space and privacy for our family of four. Thanks again.
Just got home today from a week long stay at Kim's home in the Adirondacks. We were a group of 12--4 adults and 8 teenagers--and this home was PERFECT for us! The house is beautiful and Kim's attention to detail was great! We were provided in depth information about the house and the area and we truly only needed to bring our personal items & food--everything else was there waiting for us! The property was very clean and well stocked and the pictures accurately show this terrific property! The downstairs bunk room and media room was perfect for the kids and they spent much time down there watching movies and playing video games. It was nice to have a separate space for the kids so the adults could relax in peace! :) There was plenty of seating for our group of 12 to enjoy meals together. We enjoyed having a glass of wine on the outside deck and spending evenings around the fire pit.
The house served as a great home base for us as we visited Lake George (about 40 min away), Bolton Landing, Lake Placid (about an hour and a half drive) and Whiteface Mountain (about 10 min further than Lake Placid). We enjoyed a dinner cruise on the Mohican on Lake George (Tuesday Night taco cruise), visited the Olympic venues in Lake Placid, took a gondola ride up Little Whiteface, and drove to the top of Whiteface Mountain. There was also shopping, mini golfing and time at the beach (Million Dollar Beach in Lake George). We even tried white water rafting--a first for almost all of us--which was great! I would definitely suggest trying it if you are in the area!
I would definitely recommend this property to anyone with a large group visiting the area. The house is clean, well stocked and furnished with high quality appliances, furniture, linens, etc. Kim was great to work with too! We would definitely stay here again! Thanks Kim for helping us to have a fun vacation and create many memories! :)
This place was a perfect fit for my family of 10! It was clean and beautiful with plenty of space for us to all hang out. A lot of thought had gone into the details of our stay by the owner and it was easy to relax and enjoy our vacation. The location was great and we especially loved that there was a small waterfall about a five minutes walk down the road. We highly recommend this Adirondack Retreat!
Great clean place to stay! Firepit was great. Homeowners made you feel comfortable, directions were great and communication with the stay was so helpful! Thanks for all your help and letting us stay!
We had a great time. The house was perfect for our get together (3 families with 5 small children). The house was very clean, safe and provided lots of space for the children to stretch their legs. Each family pretty much had a floor to their own. There was lots to do in the area, we especially liked walking by the creek on the road nearby the house. Thanks again, we'll definitely come back!
The Gore Mountain Area is home to year-round fun and excitement. If you love the outdoors, opportunities for skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, hiking, kayaking, SUPing, mountain biking and whitewater rafting surround the area. And during your downtime, there are incredible restaurants and shopping in downtown North Creek less than 5 minutes away.
