Description

Photos and Description of this 4 bedroom holiday chalet in Rock Stream - Hunter's Grace

3 bedroom house plus 1 bedroom guest cottage and great lakefront rec room

UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP - Newly painted and decorated, this spacious A-frame chalet sits on a landscaped and tree-filled acre + and features an oversized great room, plus a large eat-in kitchen and master suite on the main level, all with great lake views and each with its own access to a separate deck or patio. The kitchen deck has plenty of room for dining, sunning, etc., while the master bedroom deck has a roomy jetted hot tub. Step from the great room’s french doors onto a flagstone patio perfect for reading and lake-gazing. Upstairs are two cozy bedrooms plus a new full bath.

-Charming separate guest cottage, freshly painted and decorated has a combination livingroom/efficiency kitchen, with a separate bedroom and full bath. This cottage also has a huge deck with an amazing lake view. It can be rented for an additional $500/week (only with main house rental).

-Private lakefront has a huge rec room with shuffleboard and air hockey games, a bar area with refrigerator, and plenty of seating. 2 large docks for sunning and diving into the lake, complete with 2 electric boat lifts.

-Fish right off the docks. Traditionally, lake trout, smallmouth bass and yellow perch have been the mainstay of Seneca Lake's fishery. In the decades since the first survey of the lake in 1927, other species have also contributed prominently, including rainbow trout, brown trout, landlocked atlantic salmon, northern pike and largemouth bass.

About Scott & Phyllis Seamon

We live on Long Island and just recently purchased this wonderful property after looking for several years for the perfect lakefront vacation retreat. Hunter's Grace is named after our beloved 14 year old Weimaraner Hunter, who recently passed. He never got to see the house, but we know he would have loved it. We also have Gracie, a 10 year old female Weimaraner who is presently battling brain cancer, and a 15 year old cat Harley.

Presently, and until we move there permanently, we are happy to share our home with you.

Scott & Phyllis Seamon purchased this chalet in 2016

Why Scott & Phyllis Seamon chose New York

The property had so much to offer and "something" led us there...many signs pointed to this wonderful family home. We felt a connection immediately the first time we went there and knew it was the right home for us. The owners were broken-hearted that they were leaving, and we understood why.

What makes this chalet unique

"THE HANGAR" makes this property truly unique. A 1200' re-purposed seaplane hangar provides a great gathering place for all ages to enjoy the lake together. Regulation size shuffleboard table with electronic scoring, air hockey table, bar area with refrigeration and the most incredible view you can imagine.

A very nice plcae to recommend

  • 4 of 5

A nice and quite property with a hot tub (jsut make sure is working). We had good time over canadian thanksgiving weekend. If weather is hot, you can enjoy the water activities. Beautiful fall colors, lots of wineyard open for tours. A day trip to watkins glen state park, corning glass museum or Ithaca.

Thanks Tim and Bonnie.

Great Place to Relax & Enjoy Casual Summer Fun

  • 5 of 5

This was a great place to enjoy the scenic beauty of Seneca Lake! Me and three of my college buddies (we're now in our 40's) go away each year for a week to fish and catch up. This was a terrific location that offered a comfortable home, guest cottage and a great set up lakeside - a converted airplane hanger that serves as one amazing rec room complete with a regulation shuffleboard table, and enough entertainment to keep the average teenager happy for a week. The owner, Tim, was terrific - returning calls promptly and offering great advice on things of interest in the area. Watkins Glen is close by and the area wineries offer a great chance to sample the local products. If I have one minor detraction - completely unrelated to the accommodations - it's that there's really one game in town for a market - the big box store from Bentonville. I would gladly make the decision to stay here again!

Owner's Response: Thanks, Sean, for a great review and for being such great guests! Hope you can visit us again sometime. Sorry we forgot to mention that there is a grocery store (Tops) at the south end of town. It's also great to stop on your way at a Wegman's (Ithaca, Corning, Elmira, Binghamton, Geneva), which provide a wonderful shopping experience. Also we love to take advantage of the roadside stands where many of the local farmers offer great local produce.

Great Week at the Lake

  • 5 of 5

My family enjoyed a great week on Lake Seneca. From "million dollar" views watching the sunrise over the lake to relaxing in the hot tub and roasting marshmallows over the fire pit. The owner, Tim, couldn't have been more accommodating!

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

Very Pleasant!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

The 7 of us, (my wife & I, 3 kids, and in-laws) rented the house for a week. In-laws stayed in the cottage, kids upstairs in the main house, and my wife & I used the master bedroom. The property is well maintained and it has everything you need. The house location 3 miles close to Watkins Glen is great. The lake view is unbelievable. We enjoyed drinking coffee in the morning in the kitchen patio enjoying the view, sitting on the swing around the fire pit roasting marsh mellow and eating water melon at night, soaking in the large hot tub off the master bedroom, hanging around the huge recreation room on the lake playing air hockey & shuffleboard while fishing of the dock or swimming/canoeing in the lake. We visited the State Park in W-Glenn & took a lake cruise, visited Cornell University & the falls in Ithaca, in-laws home town of Cortland, and the Glass Museum in Corning.

The owner is wonderful. He made sure the house was ready and was available by phone to answer our questions & texts. We highly recommend this property for future renters.
