This top story unit at the Shores of Maui offers a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean and is located on the sunniest part of the Island. It’s about 50 yards from the sand, directly across from Cove Park, a fun surfing and paddle boarding beach. It’s a one block walk to Charlie Young Beach (as a reference, it's the north end of Kama'ole Beach I), one of the finest swimming beaches on Maui!

The complex is minutes away from the resorts and shops of Wailea as well as championship golf and world class restaurants. It’s also walking distance from charming local Kihei cafes, restaurants, shops and galleries.

The condo is on the second floor of the two story complex, accessible by stairs but not elevator. The unit was recently remodeled including the kitchen with new stainless appliances, hardwood bamboo floors in the living room/dining area and bathrooms, Samsung "Smart" 32” flat screens in each bedroom, all with DVD/BluRay players attached and free Netflix; and in July, 2016 a brand new 60" Smart Samsung flat screen in the living room.

In July, 2016 I stayed at the condo and added these new items:

In the kitchen--new KEURIG 2.0 PLUS SERIES single serve coffee maker (includes 4 K-cups per party)--guests can purchase additional K-cups of their preferred brand at the local CostCo or grocery outlet. There is also a standard electric coffee maker in the kitchen.

New electric FLIP BELGIAN WAFFLE MAKER--makes excellent waffles!

New -- THE ORIGINAL GREEN PAN--healthy, ceramic, non-stick skillets.

TWO NEW MOREY BOOGIE BOARDS and FOUR NEW BEACH CHAIRS.

The bedrooms are spacious and tastefully decorated--one has a king bed, the other has two queens. There is a queen sleeper sofa in the living room.

There are TWO FULL BATHS in the unit.

The unit includes a spacious lanai (balcony) with spectacular OCEAN VIEWS, wonderful for sunsets and whale-watching. There is a table and chairs to sit and relax on the lanai.

The unit has 3 NEW AIR CONDITIONING UNITS, a fully equipped kitchen with a brand new full size Kenmore refrigerator and includes a dishwasher, microwave, toaster and rice cooker. In June, 2017 I added the THIRD COOLING/VENTING A/C unit to bedroom #2, the room with the 2 queen size beds. All areas of the unit can now be well-cooled.

FREE High Speed WIFI Internet is included (private for guests in unit only)

400+ digital channels of FULL HIGH DEFINITION TELEVISION in living room and bedrooms.

Free NETFLIX enabled on TV's in all rooms. (code distributed prior to check-in)

Includes TELEPHONE with unlimited local calls as well as free calling to all of the United States, Canada, China, Hong Kong and India.

Brand new full size LG WASHER AND DRYER in the unit.

On-site amenities include a heated spa, swimming pool, tennis court, outdoor gas grills and covered outdoor eating area.

Note that there is a mandated state of Hawaii room tax of 13.41% added to the daily rate. The state of Hawaii raised this rate to 14.41% effective 1/1/18.

About Sam Powers

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and attended the University of California at Berkeley. I loved San Francisco but moved to Los Angeles to attend graduate school at UCLA. I then began my career directing and producing educational television series for broadcast on PBS as well as projects for the South Korean Ministry of Education and the government of Singapore. I currently work in public education in Los Angeles and also develop multi-media interactive learning games and apps. Why Sam Powers chose Maui

Since I was a child, my parents took me on vacations to Maui as well as the other Hawaiian islands. I loved the ocean and the beaches and the diving, surfing, whales, dolphins, sea turtles, sunsets and amazing hikes. None of that has changed. As an adult, I particularly enjoy Kihei and the Shores of Maui because I can sit on my lanai and enjoy a beautiful sunset every night, a glass of wine in hand--walk to excellent coffee and breakfasts in the morning--walk 60 yards to the ocean and take a swim--sit by the private pool on property or on the beach--then head over to one of the excellent local happy hours. Or we grill steaks and seafood on the gas bbq's on site and sip our home-made mai-tais and relax in the jacuzzi. Or if its a family and kids trip, we all swim and boogie board every day at the beach, walk to the park, or take a hike.

Loved the location of the property & all the pool toys that were available.

Amazing Location!

The host, Sam, very quick to respond with any questions about the area. He even sends a detailed email explaining the area, directions, codes, etc- anything I possibly needed to know about his place or the area I could refer to his email. The condo/apt was awesome, we could see the ocean and pool from the balcony. The place was fully stocked with kitchen appliances, beach gear, etc. (Boogie boards were a hit- although not to many waves-- used them to sunbathe in the ocean). There was a back gate (very convenient) that led directly out the street (saved a few steps). There were many shops and restaurants and bars all within walking distance. Great location! Thanks again for everything Sam. P.S. Thanks for having AC! One group of friends rented an Air bnb without AC and were sweating the whole trip lol. When you come from Phoenix, AC is always a must, even if the night cools down to high 70s that breeze will not fill the whole apt.

It was 100% as advertised, (perhaps even better)

We were very happy. The condo we rented was perfect in every way. Pool was very nice, used the grills almost every night. Beaches were close. TV and DVR worked fine with very easy to understand instructions left by the property owner. I truly can't say anything bad about the experience.

Relax in Kihei!!!

Our stay was very comfortable with a great location and relaxing views. The overall color and family style condo was a welcoming find. The condo was just as advertised only better with a fully stocked kitchen, games and toys for the beach. The view of the pool and the beach from the lani was beautiful. The location of the condo was within walking distance of many shops and eateries. My family looks forward to returning again. Thank you Sam for allowing us the pleasure of your Hawaiian home.

The $200.00 initial rental payment is refundable up until sixty (60) days before check-in, less $100. The entire balance must be paid sixty days before your check-in date. A $200.00 damage/reservation deposit is required within ten (10) days of booking your reservation. This deposit automatically converts to the required damage deposit upon arrival and is fully refundable within fourteen (14) days of departure if the contractual provisions regarding damage are met. It is NOT applied toward rent. CANCELLATIONS: A Cancellation that is made more than sixty (60) days prior to arrival date incurs the specified $100.00 penalty. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made within sixty (60) days of the arrival date, forfeit the full advance payment ($200.00) and damage/reservation deposit ($200.00). Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent or deposit. MONTHLY RENTALS: Available at discounted rates, contact owner for details. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: 6 guests.
