This top story unit at the Shores of Maui offers a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean and is located on the sunniest part of the Island. It’s about 50 yards from the sand, directly across from Cove Park, a fun surfing and paddle boarding beach. It’s a one block walk to Charlie Young Beach (as a reference, it's the north end of Kama'ole Beach I), one of the finest swimming beaches on Maui!

The complex is minutes away from the resorts and shops of Wailea as well as championship golf and world class restaurants. It’s also walking distance from charming local Kihei cafes, restaurants, shops and galleries.

The condo is on the second floor of the two story complex, accessible by stairs but not elevator. The unit was recently remodeled including the kitchen with new stainless appliances, hardwood bamboo floors in the living room/dining area and bathrooms, Samsung "Smart" 32” flat screens in each bedroom, all with DVD/BluRay players attached and free Netflix; and in July, 2016 a brand new 60" Smart Samsung flat screen in the living room.

In July, 2016 I stayed at the condo and added these new items:

In the kitchen--new KEURIG 2.0 PLUS SERIES single serve coffee maker (includes 4 K-cups per party)--guests can purchase additional K-cups of their preferred brand at the local CostCo or grocery outlet. There is also a standard electric coffee maker in the kitchen.

New electric FLIP BELGIAN WAFFLE MAKER--makes excellent waffles!

New -- THE ORIGINAL GREEN PAN--healthy, ceramic, non-stick skillets.

FOUR NEW MOREY BOOGIE BOARDS and FOUR NEW BEACH CHAIRS.

The bedrooms are spacious and tastefully decorated--one has a king bed, the other has two queens. There is a queen sleeper sofa in the living room.

There are TWO FULL BATHS in the unit.

The unit includes a spacious lanai (balcony) with spectacular OCEAN VIEWS, wonderful for sunsets and whale-watching. There is a table and chairs to sit and relax on the lanai.

The unit has 2 NEW AIR CONDITIONING UNITS, a fully equipped kitchen with a brand new full size Kenmore refrigerator and includes a dishwasher, microwave, toaster and rice cooker.

FREE High Speed WIFI Internet is included (private for guests in unit only)

400+ digital channels of FULL HIGH DEFINITION TELEVISION in living room.

Cable television in both bedrooms.

Free NETFLIX. (code distributed prior to check-in)

Includes TELEPHONE with unlimited local calls as well as free calling to all of the United States, Canada, China, Hong Kong and India.

Brand new full size LG WASHER AND DRYER in the unit.

On-site amenities include a heated spa, swimming pool, tennis court, outdoor gas grills and covered outdoor eating area.

Note that there is a mandated state of Hawaii room tax of 13.41% added to the daily rate. Contact owner if you have a question or would like to discuss the minimum number of nights stay.

Also note that VRBO charges a small percentage "service fee" at the time of booking. VRBO does not refund this "service fee" if the reservation is cancelled.

About Sam Powers

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and attended the University of California at Berkeley. I loved San Francisco but moved to Los Angeles to attend graduate school at UCLA. I then began my career directing and producing educational television series for broadcast on PBS as well as projects for the South Korean Ministry of Education and the government of Singapore. I currently work in public education in Los Angeles and also develop multi-media interactive learning games and apps. Some of the work I do can be seen on our company website at www.inglesya.us/educators. I have been blessed with a wonderful 9-year old son who also loves the ocean and the beaches of Maui.

Why Sam Powers chose Maui

Since I was a child, my parents took me on vacations to Maui as well as the other Hawaiian islands. I loved the ocean and the beaches and the diving, surfing, whales, dolphins, sea turtles, sunsets and amazing hikes. None of that has changed. As an adult, I particularly enjoy Kihei and the Shores of Maui because I can sit on my lanai and enjoy a beautiful sunset every night, a glass of wine in hand--walk to excellent coffee and breakfasts in the morning--walk 60 yards to the ocean and take a swim--sit by the private pool on property or on the beach--then head over to one of the excellent local happy hours. Or we grill steaks and seafood on the gas bbq's on site and sip our home-made mai-tais and relax in the jacuzzi. Or if its a family and kids trip, we all swim and boogie board every day at the beach, walk to the park, or take a hike.

Fabulous

We enjoyed our stay very much. We had a fabulous time here. The apartment is great, clean and has got everything you need and even more. All the contacts with the owner were nice, he is friendly , answers your questions very quickly and gives you a lot of informations about what to do, where to go, etc. We went to "coffee o'lei" a few times and loved it. We went whale watching, snorkelling, we toured the island,..... Anyway, we would recommend this place to our friends and family. Great place to stay, great place to visit.

Excellent location!!

Had a great time with our family staying at the shores of Maui! It was the perfect condo for our family. Very spacious and clean. It was an excellent location. Close to restaurants and grocery stores. Our children took surfing lessons right across the street. It was extremely easy to access the condo. The only thing that we could not find was beach towels, but maybe we didn't look in the right places?? We would definitely stay here again!! Would recommend this place for vacationing families!

Nice clean place in good location; we had great time

Clean, nice condo in very convenient location just as described. Easy walking distance from the beach (Charlie Young beach, great for kids) and places to get food. We especially enjoyed the taco truck and Vietnamese food counter nearby (~2 blocks north from the condo). Also can really recommend Cafe Ole'i few minutes drive south on S. Kihei Rd. The farmers market some blocks up the road (1784 S Kihei Rd) was our favorite place to get fresh fruit.

The kitchen is well lit and had all the gadgets and tools we needed. I especially liked the very nice and sharp knife set. It may be a small thing but it mattered a lot when cutting up the papayas, starfruit, passion fruit and other goodies from the market.

Loved the ocean view, enjoyed the pool and the hot tub there. The owner was very accommodating and we appreciated to get a late checkout for our red eye flight back.

I would definitely recommend this condo to others.

Hard to beat The Shores of Maui 204

This was our 10th trip to Maui and our 7th stay at The Shores of Maui. We quit looking for other complexes when we found this place. We stay here because location and price . We feel it is a good value and enjoy the quiet atmosphere and central location in Kihei. This is not a fancy complex. It is older and smaller than most on the island but has been updated and is kept beautifully. For a quiet vacation, this is the place! This was our first stay in #204. We will definitely rent this condo again. It sits back from the road so it is very quiet yet the patio gives you a very nice view of Cove Park and the pool area and is a great spot for meals and happy hour. We take full advantage of the great barbeques and group seating area by the pool. We have always found this complex to have very friendly residents and visitors and feels like spending time with old friends when we stay here. The condo itself is clean and comfortable and was perfect for our group of four adults. It looks nice as it has been recently updated and we enjoyed extras like Netflix and Wifi as well as TVs in both bedrooms. The extra air conditioner in the back bedroom helped keep temperatures very comfortable. Sam was great to work with and we appreciated his recommendations for various places on the island. I have no problem recommending this property. We will definitely be back!

The $200.00 initial rental payment is refundable up until sixty (60) days before check-in, less $100. The entire balance must be paid sixty days before your check-in date. A $200.00 damage/reservation deposit is required within ten (10) days of booking your reservation. This deposit automatically converts to the required damage deposit upon arrival and is fully refundable within fourteen (14) days of departure if the contractual provisions regarding damage are met. It is NOT applied toward rent. CANCELLATIONS: A Cancellation that is made more than sixty (60) days prior to arrival date incurs the specified $100.00 penalty. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made within sixty (60) days of the arrival date, forfeit the full advance payment ($200.00) and damage/reservation deposit ($200.00).
