Why Kim Wood chose North Georgia Mountains

RiverBend of North Georgia sits so close to the water you can almost touch the fish & cool waters of Fightingtown - one of North Georgia's premier trout streams. This cabin is bordered on one side by the wide Fightingtown creek and a small creek on the other; just perfect for younger kids, easy access in and out off water - 2 kayaks and floating tubes are included with this cabin (no charge). This 2 bedroom/2 bath cabin has a sleeping loft which hosts a king sized bed. RiverBend has a fully equipped kitchen with a small island attached to a cozy eating area and great room with a wood burning stove and large flat screened tv. Lots of windows allow you a constant view from almost anywhere in the main living area. However the outside of RiverBend will beckon you to spend the majority of your time outdoors. The large porch with covered sections on each side is home to a unique 6 man hot tub and a large deck area. The firepit area is one of the nicest in the area and will be where you and your family spend most of your hours. You cannot hide from the sights & sounds of North Georgia's nature & fun during your visit to RiverBend. This cabin is perfect for smaller groups and families who want to be right on the water.

What makes this cabin unique

Surrounded by nature yet close to town.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We really enjoyed our trip. My husband and I brought our boys (7 & 4), and our parents as a Christmas gift to them. We loved the cabin and it provided the perfect atmosphere for us to enjoy nature and each other while creating beautiful memories. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. Kim was amazing! She went above and beyond to meet and anticipate our needs! She was very responsive and extremely pleasant. We had a wonderful experience!

This cabin sits in an area of exceptional beauty with a small creek on one side which empties into Fightingtown Creek. Champion trout stream. If River Bend is booked during your timeframe, please ask Kim about our cabins up stream!! ******************************************************************************************************** We also have a neighboring cabin that is almost identical that would be great to consider for combined larger parties (ie: Mom & Dad), great for reunions, wedding parties, etc! We'll find you a cabin in our little community!

Comfortable, secluded, beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time at this cabin! Our boys really enjoyed playing in the small creek that runs into Fightingtown creek, and we all enjoyed tubing and kayaking in Fightingtown creek - both creeks are right next to the cabin. The cabin itself is spacious and comfy, clean and practical. We'll definitely be back!

Wonderful cabin and setting. Fun for everybody!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I spent my 52nd birthday at Riverbend cabin. Everything was wonderful. I'm not particularly a "fishing" person, but there was not a day there I did not cast a line and catch something. As a matter of fact, I have the record at 6 fish in four days! The only things I would change about the cabin is the bedding (it could use to be a little updated) and the driveway. It is quite steep but we had a lot of fun and laughs making our way up and down it. I think low profile vehicles in the winter might hae a more difficult time. I can imagine that the property is quite stunning during the cooler months. Even though it was 90 outside, you could easily and comfortably spend the day out door on the porch or by the river and not even notice it. I would certainly plan another stay and recommend it to others.

Owner's Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. Catching that many fish is a record! We stock this section of Fightingtown Creek with trout every year. I'm sorry that you were unhappy with the bedding. All of the mattresses and linens have been replaced this year. Which bed in particular didn't you like? Not much I can do about the driveway. We are in the mountains after all! I suggest that people put their car in low and get a good start. It usually works! Thanks so much for your review.

Beautiful place to stay!

  • 4 of 5

This was a much needed vacation for us! The cabin was great! Kim was very helpful whenever we needed her! It's close enough to activities but far enough away to feel secluded! They provided everything needed and then some to make the stay enjoyable. The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars would be the barking dogs we listened to way more often than we would like. One across the river seemed to bark most the day a couple of the days. Also no one stayed in the cabin next door while we were there so it was not an issue for us but the cabin is really close and had people been there it most likely would have not been as great. I would suggest renting both cabins. That is what we will do to solve that issue. Overall we really had a great time and would certainly recommend this cabin!

Nice cabin, beautiful setting

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay. If you enjoy peaceful scenery, this is a great location. Use the driving directions provided. Don't depend on a GPS, as we tried it once during our stay and it led us to a wrong entry gate and we had to backtrack. The gravel roads that lead to the cabin are not in great shape, and are rough and annoying. However, once you arrive the scenery really makes the ride worthwhile. There is a small creek on one side of the cabin with a little walking trail, and behind the cabin is a large rushing stream that you can even hear inside the cabin. There were several spots to try our hand at fishing. There is a nice fire pit, as well as a huge wrap around porch. The master bedroom is on the main floor with a queen bed and full bath. The upstairs loft has a king bed, next to a bedroom with a bunk bed. The full bath upstairs is accessed by going through the bedroom. The bedroom has no door; however since the entrance faces a wall of the small access hall, there is a bit of privacy between it and the loft. The cabin was pretty well supplied, although some of the cookware was in rough shape. (metal cooking utensils do a lot of damage to nonstick pans). We purchased night lights for the bathrooms since it was pitch dark at night, and left them there. It would help to have one in the loft, too. We also bought pump soap for the bathroom and kitchen since what was there was almost empty and had been watered down. The cabin location was convenient. The little town of Blue Ridge is about 15 minutes away. There is also a Walmart in that area. We enjoyed hikes to waterfalls and shopping in Blue Ridge. A great info binder is provided in the cabin that has brochures and info on the area. We recommend visiting the Fannin County Chamber of Commerce near Blue Ridge on Orvin Lance Dr. for lots of maps and info on trails, scenic drives, and other things the area offers.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for giving us such a detailed review. I'll make sure the pots and pans are in good shape. We try hard to keep the road in good condition but with the amount of rain we've had its difficult. Thanks Kim
