Cabin has one bedroomand a roll away twin bed, and more sleeping arrangements in the living room too. Full bathroom with shower. Full kitchen and table area. Cabin is located on Maple Lake, with a spectacular view. Boat is available for a small fee. We have two boats available for rent. One is a fishing boat with a 8hp-4 stroke motor. The other boat for rent is a Boston Whaler with a 25hp motor. Cabin is cozy and pleasant. The town of Maple Lake is 4 miles and if you want a bigger town Buffalo and Monticello are both 10 miles from cabin. The outlet mall is located in Albertville which is about 15 miles form the cabin.
We live next door to this cabin. We have lived in our home for over 18 years. Maple Lake has been a wonderful place to raise our family, which has now grown to an even bigger family with new grandchildren.
Brad Karja purchased this cabin in 2003
This property is located next door to our home. We have used the cabin for our family and others, but decided to rent it out now since our family has moved on to their own homes.
Best benefits are the lake. The cabin is on a hill which makes for spectacular views.
Not a place I could recommend. We booked this cabin for the 4th of July weekend thinking it would be a perfect place for me and my dad and my husband to go, but upon arrival that was not the case. The cabin advertised full kitchen and yes it did have stove and fridge and sink and some pots and pans, but when we opened the cabinet one of the pans had old food and grease in it, there were no drinking glasses in the house and we had not brought any with so had to ask for those (she did bring us some) the pictures are very misleading you walk out the back and there is a porch hanging on by a thread and about 5 feet from the porch door was a cliff that could be very dangerous at night and it was full of trees and the view was covered there was no way to get down to the lake without walking through the owners yard and using there stairway, the boat they advertised to rent was not working, there was an old toilet sitting outside next to the porch which was a site for sore eyes, packages of shingles sitting in the porch, no chairs for the porch, the grill was big enough for just a few hotdogs at best, the private beach had old boats and rubbage on it and the dock was not cleared, the fire pit was shared between you and the owners and their family, when you pulled in the driveway it was covered in ladders and snow mobiles and just was not a place we could get comfortable in at all, the windows had no screens on it so you were not able to open those for a lake breeze. I hate to leave a review like this but our weekend was jeopardized due to not knowing this before arrival. Some people might love it but it was not a place for us. The place should not be rented, it has potential but definitely needs some TLC. I will say the owners were very nice and they did refund our money as we did not end up staying.
Our family of four stayed in this cozy cabin and had a wonderful time! The view overlooking the lake was beautiful especially at night as the sun was setting. There is a nice beach area and my kids (ages 16 & 18) had a blast taking the boat out and tubing. Brad and Shelley were so nice and accommodating with anything we needed. The best part of the trip was when Brad took us out in his big boat and taught our kids how to wakeboard. He also gave us a thrill ride doing his "James Bond" moves with his boat. So much fun! We definitely want to go back!
The cabin was perfect for the 4 of us to stay in and relax. Has a screened in porch to sit and look out over the lake. With little ones you have to watch them closely with the edge being close to go down the side of the cliff. The beach is private and you have access to toys and boat if you want to rent. The owners were very nice and accommodating.
The cabin could use some fixing up and does not have air conditioning. With the breeze off the lake it was not a big deal. If more windows had screens in them it would be better as well.
Overall we had a great stay. We could go down to the lake whenever we wanted to swim, fish, and relax. Our 3 year old did not want to go home he was having so much fun. If you want a relaxing and private get away this is perfect for you and your family.
Maple Lake is a quaint town with fun specialty shops, restaurants, and golfing nearby. Buffalo is located 10 miles and has many more specialty shops, restaurants, health club, bowling, movie theater, and a rodeo in June. Maria State Park is located in Monticello, 10 miles.
