About this property

Located on a private working ranch, deep in rolling hills, lakes and pine forests of East Texas, we offer you your own spacious roomy lodge to enjoy. Make a cup of coffee and sit in the screened covered porch, work on your computer with our wireless WiFi and watch the wildlife and livestock all around you or just gaze at the lake. At night watch Netflix on the flatscreen TV in the living room We are not set up for parties or events but offer a place to unplug from the city, to enjoy the peace and relaxation that comes from a true county place. Lodging price includes bank and dock fishing. If you would like to lease the whole lake with two boats it is $60.00/ day /boat- you can decide when you come!. We are a catch and release anything over 15 inches - under, take it home and fry it!! We have enjoyed guests coming for many years as we were affiliated with a private fishing club. Many of our guests have returned each year! As we are working ranchers' we go to bed early 9:30-10 PM so please get pre-approval earlier or be patient and wait til morning!! We hope to meet you soon! Relaxing, wine and stars

We love Melody’s Acres BnB, away from city lights and noise. This is our 4th stay, hunting for stars, galaxies and nebulae in the dark skies of Crockett, TX Perfect for stargazers in Houston area, the cabin is equipped with all you need but you also have good options for dinner 15 minutes away, Lindo Guanajuato is very close and have best street tacos and enchiladas verdes.

Great Place for bass fishing

The owners are working on upgrading their two boats and this is the only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5. I love the place and will be going back for sure.

Time to relax and stargazing

Perfect site for stargazers and astrophotography, secluded cabin with minimum light pollution from large cities, yet close enough to Houston, TX so travel is rather short. Cabin is clean and cozy, quiet away from road noise. I captured Eagle Nebula and Omega Nebula images with my camera and telescope, amazing! Bring your telescope or binoculars to enjoy a starry night in safe quiet place.

Peaceful Retreat

Very peaceful environment w/ beautiful scenery (just what we were looking for). Our adult daughter is handicapped; however, she was at least able to walk over to see the calves across the drive from the house (she can only walk for short distances) & watch the cows in the field from the screened porch (she loved swinging on the porch while enjoying the view). A goose family kept us company while fishing :) Hosts are very friendly and accommodating!! Beds are very comfortable. The only downside was that livingroom furniture is somewhat worn. Overall- very relaxing! :) Definitely would recommend!

We have been hosting guests with a private fishing club for over 18 years. We really enjoy meeting new people and showing them how a working ranch operates. the children especially love to "meet" the animals and birds!

Why they chose this property

East Texas is gorgeous! Trees, hills, wildlife., fishing.. peace.
We are less than 15 minutes to town with all it's amenities.... yes we have a Walmart and many restaurants. Lots of antique and junking stores as well! There is a drive-in animal park 20 minutes away and the train station in Palestine is 45 minutes. Come and join us and unwind from city life where kids actually go outside and play!!! Check with us first if you want to bring a dog, there is a pet fee of $65/ pet

What makes this property unique

Peace from the " rat race" New experiences and education about where food comes from and the most nutritious way of producing it. Don't want to fish?? How "bout sitting on the covered dock to read and watch the birds.....
The house has a lodge feel inside with lots of wood and a fishing theme. The lodge is a fully furnished, very comfortable home with wireless WiFi- just bring your food! Fresh pasture eggs are provided . USDA inspected beef and pork farm meats are available as well as vegetables from our gardens! We have most everything you will need and if we don't, just ask!!
