Savannah is part Dickens and part Downton Abby.
I have worked to make Miss Rose into what I believe reflects her history. Miss Rose has had 14 owners, 11 of which have been women. She is a real vine covered cottage.
The Master Suite is comparable to a small hotel suite, with its own bathroom, a private suite entrance, and private parking space. It is part sleeping area and part sitting area. The sleeping area has a grand double bed and Armoire, and the sitting area with a sofa bed couch, chairs, a TV, and Cable. Miss Rose has wireless access. And Oh Yes! You have your own private Low Country Porch.
We enjoyed staying at Miss Rose. Coffee was served in the mornings. Joyce was friendly and informative. The room was clean and comfortable.
Firstly, Savannah GA is one of the nicest cities I have ever visited. Second, the Miss Rose made the trip better than expected. Miss Joyce is so nice I ran out of words to describe her. There wasn't any more she could have to done to make my stay better. I will always be in debt to Miss Joyce for providing everything needed to make trip the best I have ever been on. If you are considering a trip to the Miss Rose, do yourself a favor and book the trip! You will not be sorry.
My husband and I had a wonderful time in Savannah! We woke up each morning to coffee and tea, outside on the quaint patio. Joyce, was very resourceful and we were able to take in local events and restaurants off the beaten path. If you want to be away from the touristy hotels and restaurants, then this is an excellent choice. If you enjoy walking all around, then stay at Miss Rose and take in all Savannah has to offer.
I am nostalgic to say the least. We arrived to this quaint little retreat and upon entering heard Mozart playing and were given a very pleasant greeting by Joyce (the property owner). She was so excited to tell us about her town and what things we just had to see and do. This rental is very close to Forsythe Park on the south end of town. The Savannah River marks the end of town on the North side and this is only about 1.5 miles away so it is very walkable to everything. She had fresh coffee for us every morning at 0730 and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. The only potential issue (which it was not for us) was there is no fridge or means of preparing food. But as Savannah is a foodie's paradise, eating in the room would be a great and terrible sin. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone.
Very small bed. No heating or air conditioning control. Rougher part of town. People living in the room right beside you ( no privacy).if you find a place a couple blocks closer to the river they are much nicer and probably a little more expensive but would be well worth it.Joyce seems like a very nice women but the place was not what we expected.
Upon our arrival, Joyce gave us the information of this beautiful room with a brief history of Savannah (short and sweet because we got there later than expected....and needed to scoot out for our scheduled tour). There were grapes, cookies and water at the bedside. Coffee promptly awaited us at 8:00 every morning and there was ice cold water waiting for us every afternoon when we came back from sightseeing all day. There was a bottle of Rainwater Madera to sample. I was intrigued by the history behind that too! We will definitely be back. This hostess had that southern hospitality that one thinks of when in the south. Thank you Joyce for a wonderful trip! Dinner on us the next time around :)
