The 'Verdie May House' is an adorable 1930's house located in the heart of Lewisburg's Historical District - only a short 5 minute stroll to restaurants, cafes and shopping. Enjoy exploring the historical sites or relaxing on the spacious porch with a cool drink. This newly renovated house is the perfect place to enjoy Lewisburg!
We've just finished a major renovation of this cosy 1930's house - previously home to several local identities (including Eileen Kramer, an Australian National Treasure dancer and acclaimed furniture maker Ozzi May and his wife, Verdie).
The house is small (perfect for 1-4 people) and has a spacious, well equipped kitchen, cosy living area, study area with desk, two comfortable bedrooms, separate laundry, cute upstairs bathroom (with a bathtub) and wonderful new bathroom downstairs (featuring a shower with Bluetooth speaker for connection for music and plush towels from local estate of international socialite, Mary Summers).
Original artwork by local artists, including Ronald Refsland, is found throughout the house. The large covered porch is perfect for relaxing, people watching or for outdoor dining. You will enjoy view of the Old Stone Church (across the street), Carnegie Hall and other historical sites. As the porch is part of the new addition to the house, it is unpainted while we allow it to 'season' for 6 months.
The large yard is still undergoing some renovation (we are working to create an equally lovely outdoor space), but there is ample lawn for a rambunctious game of croquet!
