Had a great time.

  • 4 of 5

Very nice property on Stone Lake in Middlebury, Indiana. Clean and very well furnished property. Had 8 friends come up to visit for the day and had plenty of room. Very nice beach area and dock for fishing off of or parking your boat. Owner was very helpful with questions we had. Short drive to shopping areas and tourist activities.

Lovely lake house!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a fantastic few days on Stone Lake! House is perfect--well-stocked, comfortable, and steps from the stunning Stone Lake. Perfect for young kids--lake is shallow with sandy bottom at the edges. And great for older kids too--fantastic swimming, great boating. We had a great time at the Middlebury Summer Fun Fest, and highly recommend the nearby Dutch Creek Animal Farm! Wish we had another day--it was a terrific stay. We look forward to being back here some time!

Beautiful peaceful location!

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay and only wished we would have had more time than just two days. David kept in excellent touch with us. He responded very quickly to all our questions. Cottage was very well equipped. Worried a little about just one bath but the curtain closing off the shower area was brilliant. We didn't really cook because we were busy sightseeing. We did get our toes in the lake. Wished we would have brought an air mattress to swim with. Beach sandy and really clear, clean water. Very nice dock, well kept and had a bench for watching my grandson fish! It was almost too hot to swim! Only negative we experienced was the tv in the front bedroom wasn't working. The place was clean and well stocked with games books. Peaceful and very quiet. Hoping we can return some day!

Owner's Response: Part of the joy of owning a lakeside home is sharing it with families that appreciate what we love about the place as well. The Amish community adds a great touch with as much or as little that visitors want to experience. Especially if you like to go out to have country cooking and homemade treats. The lake itself can be a main attraction for some that don't have access to water activities back home. Thank you for taking care of our home during your stay and please visit again. We are sorry about the bedroom tv and will have it replaced soon.

beautiful lake, cozy, cute cottage

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is adorable. Tastefully decorated with good linens and plush bath towels. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking apparatus. Bring your own aluminum foil, plastic bags, etc, The two bedrooms are very nice and the sleeping loft above great as long as you aren't too tall. We were worried about only one bathroom, but for the five of us it worked fine. The lake is beautiful, warm, and sandy bottomed for about 50 feet. You can rent a canoe and kayak from the owner for a nominal fee. The view from the front porch is gorgeous, and would be better with a large umbrella as the setting sun is incredibly hot. Having said that, the sunsets are beautiful. There is a gas grill and plenty of barware for cocktails etc. We had a lovely, relaxing time.

Great lake & stay. Almost everything provided in cottage.

  • 4 of 5

The opportunity to stay here was wonderful! Lake was clean with sandy bottom with a 10 mile max speed limit. Kids spent most of the time in or on the lake.Loved seeing the sunsets from the dock as well as from the house. Also loved seeing the Amish buggies passing by in front of the house. Close to Shipshawana. Enjoyed an Amish buggy ride to an Amish home and home cooked meal during our 10 day stay. Plenty of room with 2 bedrooms and a loft with beds. Home was well furnished with towels and utensil. Our small disappointments were the lack of yard care and boat condition as well as grills being left very dirty. Would we suggest it to a friend? YES! WE HAD A GREAT TIME! Glad we brought a lot of food as we found their nearby stores to be quite higher than our area. The owner kept good contact with us at times we needed to ask any questions. Thank you David for sharing your home and making this family vacation something to remember.
