I am Australian. I have lived in the states for the last 10 years - New York City, Tahoe, Los Angeles, and for the last 3 years i've lived here in Park City, UT.
I love the mountains and the active outdoor life of Park City. The restaurants and bars of Main St don't hurt either!
Marissa De Simone purchased this cottage in 2014
Marissa and i care deeply about preserving the historical heritage of Park City. We bought this historic miners cottage and renovated it back to its original charm.
It is such a unique property as it offers a very private secluded feel, nestled in the trees, and yet it is only a few minutes walk to the fun of Main st.
We have added all the comforts of home if you want them (wifi, cable, etc), but you can just as easily switch off and imagine a simpler life here in our little Western town.
My wife and I booked Marissa's cottage so we had a place to stay after a dinner event in Park City. The cottage is situated on a private hillside and is only a few minutes walk to Main St. The view is spectacular, with the cottage's front porch looking out over the ski mountain and the Old Town of Park City.
The interior has been done up very nicely and they have all the kitchen amenities you could want. The heat goes on quickly (which we were grateful for as it was snowing outside), and the cottage is perfectly cozy on a winter's night. The bed was extra comfortable, and we slept great.
Marissa has the bathroom stocked with shampoo, conditioner and even little toothpastes - we thought this was a very nice touch.
We were able to get in touch with Marissa easily and she responded via text immediately to our questions. She was a very gracious host.
The cottage is accessed by a few flights of stairs and a little lane. The location is enchanting, but you need be able to get up and down the stairs. I'd recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a romantic getaway at a unique property that in minutes from restaurants and art galleries - but if you are elderly or unfit, the stairs may be a chllenge.
What an amazing time! Beautiful property. Very easy process! Thank you so much!
The property was very cute. Be prepared to park and walk to get to the property. Could have been a little cleaner / less buggy.
I was so disappointed with this property. The bottom line was that this place was not clean. There was a spot on the sheets--looked like grease--and the living room ottoman was dirty with many spots. Not cool.
I sent the owners pictures and got no response.
There were no reading lights in the living room so hanging out and reading was not possible.
I would not recommend to a friend nor would we stay again.
Pass on this place.
My husband and I visited Park City for a wedding and decided to make a mini vacation out of it. Your retreat allowed us to decide if we wanted to eat out or stay in and provided more comfort options than staying in a hotel does for a better rate. The view is beautiful and everything is within walking distance.
The cottage and view were just fine...The climb to the cottage was a little rugged, but we are in shape, so it didn't really present a problem, except for the logistics of shopping and such. The only problem I had was not with the cottage, but with the VBRO web site itself...Registration and getting the dates right was difficult at the time I chose to register...As it turned out, our departure date was, in fact, wrong, so we ended up cutting our time in the cottage short by one day...The owner, Matt, was very gracious and helpful...
