Bohemian Paradise in Old Bisbee

About the property

Adorable Little Miner's Shack, With an Amazing Yard and Beautiful Views.

This bohemian paradise is just that. A unique historic home built in 1904, located on a quiet residential street, just an easy walk to everything in old Bisbee. The house just begs you to relax and enjoy the cities cool vibe. Offering an eclectic interior with a little mix of modern color and shabby chic. The outside is where the rest of the magic happens. Providing a gorgeous yard for our guests to enjoy Bisbee's perfect climate.

The house includes 2 bedrooms with queen beds and a convertible couch. 1 bathroom with shower & tub. A well stocked kitchen with a gas stove (we even have an herb garden for your use). The living room has a flat screen smart TV that connects to Netflix & Vudu & basic cable. On the exterior you have your pick of sitting areas with a wrap around porch, a grassy area, a reading nook, there is also a stone staircase leading up to a secret patio that has incredible views.

Bisbee is known to be a very friendly community of artists and free thinkers. It's also a dog town! We are dog people too, so we are happy to welcome your well behaved dogs to the Bohemian Paradise. The best way to tour Bisbee is by walking through the streets and exploring all of the staircases...who better to join you than man's best friend?

We just love this little town. It's a mix of history, art, live music, great food, and eccentricity. It's a place to just relax, slow down, and enjoy life. It's slow pace lets you sleep in a little. The location allows you to keep the car parked and just walk to the galleries and restaurants. At night you can sip wine on the porch and be in awe of the amazing star gazing that Bisbee offers. OR you can choose to go out and paint the town red, with a great mix of watering holes that almost always have live music for you to enjoy. It really is a bohemian paradise.

So come on already, be our guest.

About Jamie Stehly

Hello, I'm Jamie and I'm so happy to be apart of your Bisbee experience!

Jamie Stehly purchased this bungalow in 2008

Why Jamie Stehly chose Arizona

I read about Bisbee in an art magazine. It was rated in a list of top 10 most art friendly communities in the US. I thought, I have to check this place out...then the more research I did, the more I knew that I was going to fall in love. Fall in love is an understatement! Every time I pass through the tunnel leading to Bisbee I feel like I'm going back in time. I instantly feel relaxed and at peace. I just can't think of a better place to be in AZ.

What makes this bungalow unique

The Bohemian Paradise is a house that I fell in love with instantly. The yard is just amazing with its mature trees and various sitting areas. The house is such a cute "miner's shack" (as they lovingly refer to them) it has been well taken care of over the years and just has this great feel.

Wonderful, Relaxing and Private

  • 5 of 5

Bohemian Paradise exceeded my expectations in so many ways. I actually had a pit in my stomach getting ready to leave. The location was perfect, just a short walk to town, yet plenty of privacy. The home is clean and spacious, the master bedroom is huge with tons of storage. The furnishings were comfortable And stylish. The kitchen is perfectly appointed. Laundry room was so convenient. The yard.... I cannot say enough great things about the beauty and privacy of the outdoor area. Plenty of nature and beautiful views. Jaimie is a very responsive host, and that is very important, because not all are. Bisbee is not to be appreciated fully unless you stay for at least a long weekend, but I was lucky enough to spend a full month at the Paradise. Thank you so much

Imaculate and Quiet

  • 4 of 5

Here are the positives, of which there were many: Home is very clean, bright and well maintained as were all the bed linens, bathroom, etc. with comfortable bed/pillows and seating. Excellent TV set-up including all the channels one would want plus Netflix and VUDU. Netflix was readily 'Up' and we watched the latest release of The Crown. Very private and quiet setting on a small street well off the main avenue with parking and close to one of the towns best small markets/deli/retaurants. . Owner very responsive to questions via Text (only). Heating system is very good once you learn how to turn it On although it can also keep coming on in the middle of the night unless you turn it Off.

Negatives: there are no instructions whatsoever about anything. A simple one page sheet would have been helpful to cover some of the basics. Of course, with time and experimentation, one finds out how most things work. We found the Check Out time to be a bit severe (10:00 am), which shortens your time to enjoy the property for a leisure breakfast. There are no bathroom items like shower gel or shampoo, so if you are used to even minimal hotel amenities, bring your own. There are two throw rugs which have no under backing-non-slip, which make them very slippery.

In Summary: would rent it again on a return trip to Bisbee.

Great place in a perfect location

  • 4 of 5

If you are heading to the Bisbee area this is a great place to stay. We have experimented with a few B&B's there and the Copper Queen, and by far this was our most comfortable stay. Lots of privacy and quiet spots to hang out. Even a little sitting area up the hill that has privacy and is a great place to drink some wine after a long day on feet. The house is clean on the inside and surrounded by beautiful plants is very appealing.

The kitchen was well appointed and had everything we needed including pots and pans and some pantries items. It was nice being able to make breakfast in the morning and save a little cash with a family of four.

With the windows open at night there was always a nice cool breeze and we all slept like rocks. The beds were comfy and the bathrooms were very clean.

I'd give this a full 5 star but the exterior of the house was not cleaned up prior to our arrival. While I don't expect a lot, there were a lot of webs and debris on many of the windows (outside) and in the outdoor seating areas and patio. I went around the house and cleaned them all off with a broom but would have expected something like that to be done prior to guest arrival. Again the inside was spotless but the outside needed some attention.

Thanks for a great stay and we will be back for sure the next time we head down to Bisbee.

A comfortable stay in Old Bisbee!

  • 5 of 5

My mother and I enjoyed our time in the Bohemian Paradise! Comfortable home, with lovely windowed kitchen (lots of light) that we enjoyed. Beautiful garden outside which attracted birds and butterflies galore. Unit was very comfortable and very clean with all the necessities (would have appreciated a hairdryer-but not that big of a deal.) Great kitchen with plenty of tools for cooking meals. Lovely upper patio that provides stellar views, especially nice with a cocktail in hand. :) Location was great, and access easy (only four stairs) for my mom who has some mobility issues. Highly recommended for your stay in Bisbee, we will definitely return.

First Time to Bisbee

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our visit to the quaint mining town of Bisbee AZ. Think of a bigger version of Jerome.

Lots of shops and restaurants...and stairs!. Recommend the mining tour.

The Bohemian Paradise was perfect for the two of us, there is a 2nd bedroom if needed. Located on

a quiet street maybe 1 mile from the downtown, but an easy walk if you like. There are some restaurants

closer 1/2 mile. Even though the homes are packed close together on the hills (part of the charm), the

property has a private courtyard and big backyard, so there is plenty of space. Everything was clean and

in working order. The owner was very responsive and helpful. We would recommend staying

here and look forward to our next visit!

Wonderful house - lovely light - perfectly situated on a hill above town.

Sweet property with a great little courtyard ... great working kitchen ... nice big screen TV .... ample parking for one or two cars and best of all just a short walk to galleries and restaurants in town. A+++++++++++
