Great location, peaceful!
Boat is a huge plus. Unfortunately, with the weather we weren't able to use as much as I wanted. If you go for fishing go before the water turns. Lake is really weedy so a fish finder is a must once the weeds begin to turn.
Great Family Vacation Spot!
It was a great little vacation spot for our family of 6! The cabin had everything we possibly could need. We really enjoyed the poontoon which was a fabulous added bonus to our stay! We caught tons of fish. The lake was really quiet and peaceful! It is located on a very quiet road and the neighbors are not too close with plenty of woods between each cabin. Highly recommend and we plan on staying again !
Great Lake House for Fishing
Overall, the cabin was absolutely wonderful. There was a beautiful deal with great views of the lake/sunset, a nice fire pit for the evenings, and a wonderful boat to spend the day fishing on. I would definitely recommend this for a family looking to fish. The lake did not seem ideal for swimming.
Boat worked well; caught plenty of fish, enough for a couple fish fries. Stairs down to the dock were a little difficult to manage as it is very steep and uneven. Nice firepit area. Wasps by the hummingbird feeder on the porch were bad. Poor cellphone service for AT&T. Cabin was clean. Good communication with owners. Fans provided.
Beautiful area - some aspects sorely lacking
We stayed here for 10 days. The cabin is cute, and the property is beautiful. We really enjoyed the fire pit.
However, there were a few issues that detract from the enjoyment of this rental. There is a hummingbird feeder on the deck, which is wonderful for watching hummingbirds. It is also not so great because it attracts several wasps, which wouldn't leave us alone any time we were on the deck. So we couldn't use the deck at all. We took the cover off the grill, lifted the lid and saw the filthiest grill I have ever seen, there were no cleaning tools available and we didn't feel comfortable putting food on it. The toilet seat slipped off to the right every time someone sat on it. The kitchen sink on the right side was clogged. We called and left a message with Jay and he never got back to us. Some of the lamps don't have working light bulbs and the shades are stained with various substances. The bunk beds are small, they are clearly designed for either very small adults or children.
They advertise a stereo and fish finder on the boat. The stereo doesn't work, and the fish finder was MIA. The steps leading down to the boat are an accident waiting to happen. They are steep and uneven with metal poles sticking out awkwardly from the sides.
We weren't expecting the Hilton by any means, but for as much as we paid, these things could have been a lot better.
We left early, as did the people before us.
Cozy cottage on beautiful, quiet lake
My husband, dog and I had a great 4-night stay at the cottage. We caught lots of fish (threw most back, but had a little fish fry at the end of our stay). The boat was great and ran perfectly. The lake was beautiful and peaceful. We were the only ones out on the whole lake several times (probably due to staying during the week instead of the weekend). Enjoyed the fire pit and incredible starry sky at night. The cabin had everything we needed for our stay and we found anything else we wanted at the gas station market in Mole Lake (just a few minutes away). Great stay!
