We had a great time. The condo was perfect and so relaxing. Thank you very much!
Thanks, Wendy - as repeat customers, we knew you were efficient and proactive. Turtle Crawl was a wonderful condo - well stocked including beach chairs and a beach cart! We enjoyed cooking in the condo as well as beach treats as Dockside Café (who allowed our dog to join us) in St. Joe and Indian Creek Raw Bar just down the road. We will be back bringing our friends!!
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Turtle Crawl. It's such a "beachy" house and very relaxing. We actually came there to ride out Hurricane Matthew. What a blessing to have found your lovely house. My sister was visiting from PA and really enjoyed her stay. We loved being able to walk to the beach. We ate at Sunset Grille the last night we were there. The food was good and the view spectacular.
A little bit of history: My husband's great uncle, Ernest Marler, was the Asst. lighthouse keeper at Cape San Blas lighthouse and died in 1938 (he was actually murdered according to historical records, but it is still unknown who did it and why). There is a book published called "Secrets of Cape San Blas!" It's based on Ernest Marler but fictional. Very interesting read. It's a coincidence that the code was the same as the date he died. Also, there was a picture of the lighthouse on the wall. And the master bedroom had a plaque with "Captain's Quarters" on it. My husband is a Captain, his father was a Captain and his grandfather was a Captain. All from Destin, Fl. My husband's name is David Ernest Marler, named after his great uncle. You can imagine our surprise when we arrived to find all of this. It was like it was meant to be!
We would love to come back again when were not escaping storms and can take advantage of all that you have to offer.
Thank you for the short mini vacation in your beautiful house!
Thank you, Wendy, we had a lovely time during our short stay. We wished we could have stayed longer. The rental home was nice and efficient. It is truly just a short walk or steps to the beach. The beach buggy was very helpful to carry the beach items. Turtle Crawl was supplied with all the starter needs. Our dogs enjoyed the morning/evening walks on the beach. It was nice to bring them, although, they were too chicken to go into the water! The area is very well maintained and quiet, the way we like it. We will sure be a return customer!!
We had such a great time at your condo. My black Scottie girls Midge and Mandy were just perfect on their first beach vacation! It was so amazing how they settled right in and loved everything as much as we did. The weather was perfect for the dogs being cooler in the mornings and evenings for their outings. The porch with the gate worked as a safe place to roll and dry after their daily baths.
One evening we went horseback riding for our 28th year anniversary at sunset. The weather was changing so we didn't get a sunset we were looking for, but the rainbow was outstanding in the distance!
We grilled outside on the porch for our dinners and enjoyed seeing others with and without their pets go by. Everyone was friendly and wanted to pet my girls.
The dockside grill even had a area the dogs could sit with you in town.
Thanks Wendy for helping us with the perfect place on such a short notice! We will be coming back next fall!
My husband and I just returned from five nights at Turtle Crawl for the long Labor Day weekend with our dog, another couple and their three-month-old baby. That may sound like a lot of people in one unit, but we had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy our vacation. The weather was wonderful and we were able to take advantage of the blue green water and pristine sands of the Cape.
Our black lab, Lily, loved being able to included in our vacation. The unit and complex cater to dog and their owners by having dog bag stations and green areas all around the grounds. The beach and beach-goers also loved petting Lily and introducing them to their fur babies. It was our first time experiencing a truly dog friendly beach.
Turtle Crawl was very clean, inviting and comfortable. This was our first time staying at Cape San Blas and we will definitely be holding onto Wendy's information to book again next year. On our first day, Soni, the local manager stopped by to make sure that everything was as it should be. I thought that attention to detail was very nice. The condo is very well appointed with everything you need to make dinner from knives, pyrex, spices and measuring spoons. It also comes with extra chairs floats and games for bad weather. All you need is your towel!
We had been advised that we may want to prepare our meals at night so we didn't have to venture to the Piggly Wiggly during our stay. If we needed anything we ran down to the Trading Post which was very well stocked with everything from gourmet cheeses to liquor.
All four adults on our trip left on Monday talking about making this an annual trip. If you are thinking about an easy quiet spot for your next vacation then look no further that Cape Escape and Turtle Crawl.
