About the property

Three Bedroom Villa, Sleeps 7

A beach bungalow with a classic California mid-century twist! "California Classic" is located on one of the most private beaches along the coast of Ventura. Recently updated with expansive new redwood deck, mid-century modern touches and beautiful new bathrooms. The deck is private and affords views of sunsets, sunrises and dolphins that frequent our coast. Open beam ceilings, modern tile in the living and bath, warm woods and an artistic fireplace round out the experience of a fine beach home.

The kitchen, informal dining, and living area are open concept and all overlook the ocean. The living area opens up to the expansive new deck. Entry to the beach is right out back down a private walkway and stairs. Also downstairs are two bedrooms (one Full and Queen + Twin) and two with adjacent bathrooms. Upstairs is the spacious private Master Suite with its own private sun room fronting the entire coast. The Master Bath was just completely remodeled with new vanity and tiled shower which faces the ocean.

Located in the middle of the point insures privacy and access to long strolls on the beach along Faria Beach Colony. The deck is private and affords views of sunsets, sunrises and the everyday dolphins that frequent our coast. Faria Beach in Ventura is a marine sanctuary with exposed tide pools, sand beaches, and some of the best marine environments along the California coast. The area is perfect for surfing, kayaking, snorkeling, boogie boarding or just to enjoy long walks on the beach, hunting for shells, rocks and sea glass. While this beach is known for dolphins feeding and riding waves on a daily bases, whales can even be spotted during their migration. The sunrises and sunsets are exceptional and the Channel Islands are visible offshore. With just steps to the sand, you will be able to explore one of California’s most unique and beautiful beaches.

A home with fine balance of a beach cottage, with upgraded amenities, make it a perfect beach getaway. Open beam ceilings, mid-century modern tile in the living and guest bath, warm woods, along with a fireplace, round out the experience of a truly fine beach home.

Charming and restful

  • 5 of 5

This is a charming, well situated property - and represents one of the last original cabins at Faria. Highlights are comfortable beds, good ventilation, small but well stocked kitchen, great bar-b-que. As always it was easy to work with Chuck and team.

A great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

A great place to stay! Our family has had the pleasure of staying at this home two times. Both times we found it to be very comfortable and relaxing. The view is incredible and there's space for everyone to have their own privacy. It has the charm of a California bungalow but the space of a modern day house. Its such a wonderful experience. We highly recommend it. We love staying at the California classic.

Beautiful escape

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely home, very clean and well maintained. Felt like I was at a spa, comfortable beds and linens. Living area was relaxed and pleasant decor. And of course the ocean right there at your doorstep, tidepools ect.

No more hotels for this family!

  • 4 of 5

Our 2nd stay at this home was just as wonderful as our 1st! Arrival was seamless, Chuck & Shannon are so helpful, everything was clean and as pictured. Picked up groceries before checking in and we did not leave for 4 days!

The layout is ideal for families or couples and everyone has a bathroom! 2 of the bedrooms/baths are downstairs making it accessible for elderly guests.

This home, for me is all about the view. I am perfectly happy to never leave that deck!

We did bring our own beach chairs this time and we're really happy that we did as we had plenty of sandy beach most of the day.

We also rented a kayak and paddleboard, since it was so easy to be able to just walk down the few steps and into to the surf.

Highly highly recommend this property!!

Perfect house to explore the area

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for Spring Break, with two adults and two tween/teens. The layout of the house was ideal. We loved the open kitchen/living room with expansive views onto the deck and ocean. The bedrooms tucked in back and upstairs provided privacy. The whole place was extremely clean and comfortable, and we appreciated its simplicity. We had everything we needed - excellent bath and beach towels, beach toys, kitchen items, enough seating, toiletries, etc. - and nothing we didn't need (knickknacks and such). The location is ideal for exploring the area - north to Santa Barbara, south to Ventura, or inland to Ojai. We saw surfers and seals from the deck and played on the beach (too cold to get in the water this time of year without a wetsuit). The kids collected seashells, rocks, seaweed, sea glass, and driftwood and did cartwheels on the beach. The only downside to our trip was the coastal fog that rarely dissipated, but there was nothing we could do about that, and it was easy enough to drive a short distance inland to find sun. We relaxed in the mornings, explored the area during the day, and brought dinner back to the house in the evening to enjoy in front of a movie. The fireplace was a fabulous bonus in the cool mornings and evenings. The house is easy to find and feels private. We met the friendly neighbors next door, and saw a few folks on the beach, but otherwise felt like we had the area to ourselves. We slept so well in the master bedroom upstairs in a very comfortable bed with the window cracked to hear the ocean and feel the cool breeze. The house is the perfect blend of historic California charm and updated niceties, like the beautifully renovated bathrooms. Shannon was very easy to work with and responded very well to all of our inquiries. Highly recommend this place!

Perfect family home for our vacation on the sea! Wonderful experience!

  • 5 of 5

My family booked this property for the incredibly accommodating layout for our type of group. We had a couple, a teen and a grandmother and at no time did we feel like we were in each others way. The home is located off of a very low traffic road that runs parallel to the main highway and it has a garage to keep your car put away. It was great having a master suite upstairs with a TV and the other 2 downstairs so we all had privacy and grandma could avoid the stairs while still enjoying the beautiful view just steps away from her room. The fireplace was very simple to use and we enjoyed sitting around it while reflecting on our day trips to other towns. We went to Danish Village of Solvang, experienced a salt cave at a spa in Santa Barbara, drove up to Ojai to walk through the quaint shops and explored the shops right in town by the house (a lot of cool local businesses with unique items). The deck was spacious (very clean) and the entire place feels private. We went to the grocery store the first day to pick up the basics. Bring a few canvas/tote bags with you because in CA plastic bags are not included in the price at food stores (great to see this movement). One of the nights we ordered from the suggested pizza restaurant and it was excellent! Also went to Kibo Sushi right in town - very small and not fancy but awesome sushi! Each day we walked down to the water when the tide was low to explore and found a few starfish and small shrimp hiding under the rocks. The property manager Chuck was awesome at making sure we were in good hands and he is part of the reason we will definitely be coming back! We came all the way from FL arriving at 7pm on a weekend and he made sure to be in communication to make sure we were settled in. We have recommended the house to our family and friends. Great overall experience - the home, area and booking experience.
