Come stay in a one of a kind home that you will never forget!

From the imported old world hardwoods and tiles to the hand made cabinetry and stained glass, this home will leave a lasting impression on you and your family.

Centrally located in the heart of the historic district of Longmont, you will stroll tree lined streets and parks admiring historic architecture every step of the way.

Our home is separated into two rental units. The main 4/bdr 2/bath house consists of 2 bedrooms upstairs and 2 bedrooms on the main level.

In addition, for a small fee, there is a lower level In Law Suite which has its own bedroom with queen bed, living room with double futon, full bathroom and kitchen.

The fee to unlock the In Law Suite is 100 per night and is only available for the entire duration of your stay. There is no outside entrance and we will never rent separately. Please specify if you would like to include the suite on your inquiry and we will adjust the quote accordingly.

The Kitchen has granite counter tops, two dishwashers, two sinks with copper fixtures, walk in pantry with ample storage, and an ice and water dispenser on the new (this year!) fridge. It also has a 6 person eat-in area for a more personal dining experience.

The adjacent dining room has an extendable table to seat 8 with custom inlay in the hardwood floors.

The main level has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with copper sink, custom cabinet and low tub/shower combo with grab-bar.

The master has king size bed and its own private bath with jetted tub, his/her copper sinks and walk in cedar closet.

The front yard is on a quiet street with small lawn.

There is a few steps in front and in the back with handrails to access the house.

The back yard is shaded with patio seating, flower planters filled with strawberries, raspberries and grapes.

There is also an Apple tree to pick from as well.

Unfortunately our house has taken up most of the lot space so large outdoor events should be hosted in the park across the street.

If needed, upon request, we can also supply high chair, pack n play, baby gates and stroller.

"Hi Ted and Jill,

You asked for a critique: the house lacked nothing. Just lovely, the mixture of the old and new was very well done, it would be interesting to know a bit about the history of the house, the renovation and the addition. Sure looks to us like a lot of time and effort was spent to put together a wonderfully livable house. All twelve of us were favorably impressed. The neighborhood was also very good. The little park down the street and the business district over on Main street were well attended by our group. We found the local pizzeria, the Chinese and the Italian restaurants and we saw some delighted owners when our group showed up for a meal. Certainly the house was the focal point of our trip which boiled down to providing a venue for the children and grandchildren to get to know each other a little better. Most of the time the conversations never stopped, and my eldest son had four business meetings with clients in the Denver area. Just this morning I was approached to do a repeat performance next summer, so it looks probable to meet there again next year. We will keep in touch vis a vis our plans for next year."

About Ted and Jill Reitsma

Ted and Jill moved to Longmont in 2001 and have enjoyed every minute of it!

We love to travel to some warm beach areas and if not, we are camping, hiking, fishing and 4-wheeling in the neighboring mountains.

Both of us are in the graphic industry, Ted owns a print shop, while Jill has her own business designing websites and logos.

Unfortunately sometimes work gets in the way of fun so we have made our own retreat in our backyard with our pet chickens under 100 year old trees.

Why Ted and Jill Reitsma chose Longmont

One look into our home and you can see why we own it. The original owner had spent numerous hours in the design and remodel of a 1950's bungalow to make it what it is today. Construction was finished in 2003 and they moved to Michigan 7 years later.

Once our daughter was born, my mother wanted a seasonal place to stay closer to us in order to watch her grow. We purchased the house and the rest is history.

The suite includes a king bed, dresser, flat screen TV, closet and a walk in closet, jetted tub, his and her sinks, private bath, marble floors and skylight. Across the sitting area from the master is "The Office" it has a double bed, computer desk, tv/dvd player and closet The Blue Room is on the northwest corner of the house and has a queen bed with desk, sofa and flat screen TV. Farrah's Room has a twin bunk bed, computer desk with coloring books, closet and dresser. The In-Law suite bedroom can be a kids room, or a downstairs hideaway. It has a queen with a custom window "dresser" nightstand and closet, separate living room with futon, full bathroom and kitchen. THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL FEE OF 100 PER NIGHT FOR IN LAW SUITE.

We welcome you to our home! Much of the history behind this house is not well known, but we do have a little bit to share. The prior owners had a love for the Mediterranean and traveled often to Spain and Italy. There they sourced a majority of the tile and woodwork that was put into this house. We believe the prior owner did a majority of the stained glass himself as a lot of the material was left behind when we acquired the property. From the Spanish doors used on the staircase and entrance to the master bedroom, to the exquisite woodwork done all throughout the bedrooms, kitchen and hallways, this home will leave a lasting impression on you and your family!

Beautiful house with great character! It was clean and comfortable.

This house was awesome, just as shown in the listing. Ted and Jill were excellent hosts and their house was very clean and welcoming. This was the perfect place to stay for a few days with our family, including a few babies. The house was spacious And the beds were very comfortable. We were easily able to prepare our own meals in the fully stocked kitchen. All in all this place was perfect. Connie J.

Beautiful home in beautiful surroundings

We had a family reunion here. Ages 4 months to 78 years, 15 people in all. The house was comfortable and large enough to accommodate all of us. Family dinners in the large dining room were delightful. The owners put up a Christmas tree in the living room and Santa came with lots of presents for the little ones. Longmont has entertainment and restaurants to please all ages.

We stayed here over a wedding weekend and this home was perfect. We had four couples and one older parent and the space worked so well. The house is absolutely beautiful and the location is ideal. On top of everything Ted and Jill were extremely generous and helpful. Perfect spot!

Exactly as Stated!

This home is in the historic district of Longmont, and within walking distance to Main St., where shopping and restaurants are unlimited. We had 3 boys (7, 7 & 12) as well as 3 adults, staying and we all absolutely loved all the details that were in this home. Ted and Jill were amazing hosts as they responded very quickly to anything we needed. Thank you for sharing your home with us and when we are in Longmont again, this will definitely be our home of choice!

Old Fashioned - like Grandma's house

Convenient location but shared driveway was difficult with 4-5 cars. Heat came on in basement and front bedrooms in middle of summer. Also smoke alarms went off 3 times in the middle of the night. Landlord was on hand next day and adjusted it so problem did not repeat.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the feedback William, As stated in the house rules, the driveway is shared, narrow and one way. There is always plenty of on street parking available right in front of the house. We understand that thermostats are hard for some people to turn off, and the smoke detectors were easily reset by pushing the button. Longmont began in an unusual way. In 1870, a group of prominent men in Chicago decided to start a new town in Colorado. To do this, they sold membership in the new town, called "The Chicago-Colorado Colony," and used the money to buy 60,000 acres of land in a carefully chosen site in northern Colorado. They brought people, lumber, and building materials to the barren site, and by 1871, a new town was built. They named it "Longmont," after nearby Long's Peak.

This home is located among numerous historical mansions in the well desired neighborhood of Old Town. Take a leisurely stroll down the tree lined sidewalks and parks, walk downtown to an astonishing array of excellent restaurants, shops and brew pubs, or just sit back and relax out back with your pick of raspberries, grapes, peaches and apples.

only 32 miles west lies the gateway to the rockies - Rocky Mountain National Park. Drive over the continental divide on Trail Ridge Road or try your luck on any of the crisp mountain streams and lakes. If you feel brave, try to climb 14,253' Longs Peak!

The University of Colorado is just a short 15 minute drive down the Diagonal to Boulder where you can take in a game or ride down the bike paths of Boulder Creek.

IBM, Seagate, and many other tech companies call Boulder County home as well.

If you feel the need to gamble, Black Hawk and Central City are only an hour away.
