Welcome to "Virgin Island in the Sky" - space that is all exposed to natural resources; Sun, Sky, Wind, Air, Light; and to nobody else i.e. none of the large windows (XXL, that is) of either rooms open into that of neighbours, thereby offering Complete Privacy. The island is on Level 15 of a Brand new apartment; comprised of 2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Entertainment, Dining, Kitchen, Laundry and a Big Balcony with Uninterrupted City Views (literally!) for you to embrace the Sky even more closely.
Location is the best part. Should you start your way from International or Domestic Airport, a reasonable 32 mins' Taxi/Uber ride lands you here. Trains are not a bad idea either. Should you change over at Central Station, you can get in here in 46 mins overall which includes the waiting and reboarding time at Central. Alternatively, you can pickup the Direct train from Airport itself which would cost you little more time i.e. 1 hour 5 mins overall, however, saves you a trouble of offboarding and onboarding at Central especially if you have sized luggage.
The apartment is just next to Granville Train Station - offering excellent connectivity to City, Parramatta CBD, Sydney Olympic Park, Rosehill Racecourse, Western Sydney University, Spotless Stadium, Westmead Hospital or even Blue Mountains. I must mention, it's an ideal base for exploring Sydney in every direction - City or Suburbs - for Trains offer changeovers from Parramatta, Lidcombe and Strathfield for different routes - and all these junction stations are located within 10 mins from Granville Station. As a cherry on a cake, the crisp 3 mins' walk to the apartment from Granville Station makes everything all the more handy.
Mostly, Carley, my co-host, will help you with key exchange and checkin. It's a secured apartment so you will need to swipe the fob - at entrance and inside the lift for you to be able to press 15 - once got off the lift at level 15, you should walk to your right and then turn left - and you'll see the door for my unit which reads "Live, Laugh and Love" (I mean it)!
Welcome in, and spend a minute absorbing what you'll see. I'll refrain describing it for I want you to experience that for real :) .... Once settled, please use the foot stool to sit down and take your shoes off, the shoe rack awaits your shoes before you start walking in please.
Yes, the hamper you see on the yellow coffee table is for you. We would like to welcome you with an Australian sovuneir gift coupled with a packet of chips and/or crackers and/or chocolates and/or a bottle of wine, depending on the no of nights you book with us and also what's available in the shops closeby then. We provide all toiletries: disposable toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, soaps, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, body mist, lip balm. We also provide bath towels, face/hand towels and toilet papers.
Let's take a tour of the island?... The Sofa is sourced to make your movie experience a big one. It's got wide armrests and removable head rest to suit your own preference. The LED you see is a 40 inch wide Smart TV - with YouTube and Netflix loaded - and there is unlimited wifi in the space to support this. You'll find the wifi details pasted on the fridge; alternatively, they are mentioned here as well.
On the right; you see the equipped Kitchen with Refrigerator, Gas Stove, Chimney, Microwave, Oven, Dish Washer, Kettle, and various size of pots and pans in the right bottom cabinet. Tea / Coffee is provisioned in the top right cabinet whereas Salt, Pepper and Sauces are stacked in the top left cabinet. There as well is a spice rack with seasonal spices should you want to cook. Please use/pull the chimney if you're cooking (to ditch the super sensitive fire alarms). Feel free to grab a packet of instant pasta or noodles from the basket if you like. In fridge, I have stacked some regulars vis milk, bread, butter, jams, eggs, juices etc for you. The bottom is the freezer if you liked some ice or wanted to store frozens. With these consumables supplied, I am not claiming to be serving breakfast here - instead, the intent is to have at least the essentials stacked for you, just in case.
On the left to Fridge, is a small laundry room. There is a Washing Machine, Dryer, Baskets and some Laundry liquid in case you needed to wash. Left to the laundry room, you see ironing table and iron. Please be careful with the switch for the iron, and please do turn it off after the usage. I remind, there are fire alarms installed, and a little smoke or a burning sensation in the air may trigger them buzzing non-stop and trouble the residents across the building to evacuate for no right reason (besides rendering me as a candidate for a heavy fine). Please be careful.
Dining table is all set for you with plates, bowls, cups, glasses, cutleries and napkins. There are also a few extra plates and cutleries in the kitchen if required. Please wash your dishes after the usage and help keeping the Kitchen clean in order not to attract the insects.
Have you jumped into the Balcony yet?... You may use those sleepers for it may be a bit dusted. I have placed some aromas, candles, relaxing couch, cushions and coffee table therein. For winters, I have put some throws in the basket next to sleepers if they help.
On into bedrooms, there are two: the first left has its bathroom just outside it, which also comes with Spa; whereas the Master bedroom's got its own Ensuite which comes with a Shower panel. There are travel sized toiletries provided in each bathroom, and also those with dispensers in case you ran out. There is a towel rail in the balcony attached to Master room, and also a garment rack as a drying provision. The Master room sleeps two people, and the other room sleeps three as I have placed the extra floor mattress already to as well serve as coffee seating. In case you must have the sixth person in your group, he/she will need to consider sofa as a bed please (it's wide anyway). There are extra quilts and linens for you in the wardrobe of the 2nd room just in case.
Since there is a Train Station closeby, you need to consider the potential for noise; however, it's not that bad given it's Level 15 and if you keep the windows closed (the thick window glasses do a good job acting as noise barriers).
I will request you to please keep the place locked from inside (just set it vertical!) while you're in and lock it while going out too (again; set it vertical, step out and bang the door) for the security of yourselves and your belongings (and mine as well :D). Not that there is any threat in here but why take a chance?
If you needed to use Parking, you press the remote in a Key set to open the main gate, get in and slowly drive through the slope and then take left, finish the circle of this B1 and slowly drive through the slope to enter B2, drive straight through the lane and on the right most corner find the spot for the Unit (Unit number is mentioned on the floor). By any chance, if someone else has illegally parked his/her car in our spot (people do!), may be you just use one of the visitors' spot and text me about the situation and I'll deal with it. Please find the lift for Tower East and then swipe the fob to be able to press Level 15.
There is an Indian Nepalese Grocer at the Ground floor of Building itself should you run out of anything essential during your stay here. They keep snacks and food too and it's open longer hours.
For Eateries/Market, you may just walk to the other side of station and there's everything. Subway, fresh baked Pizza, Grocer, Pharmacy, ATM etc. You must try "Hawa Charcol Chicken" and/or "Himalaya Fine Dining Restaurant" on this side of station itself - just google them to track your way of a few mins' walk. Should you like some Shopping vis Kmart, Target, Woolies, Coles, or even any Big Brands; take a Train to Parramatta which will land you straight into a Big Big Westfield Mall in 3 mins' Train ride.
While checking out, may I please request you to first check all lights including heater/aircon and other electronic appliances (must check iron!) are switched off?... For Carley will make it to the apartment only after a couple of hours of your checkout and we dont want loopholes please. You may then put the keys-set on the keys-holder behind the main door, lock the door from inside (remember, vertical?), step out and bang the door. It should be locked, however, please double check. Also, if you had a car parked in B2, please consider you will need to first go to B2 using the fob, take car out on the road, come back to unit to put the keys back, lock the door, and then make a final exit via Ground floor (thank God we don't need to swipe fob at least for accessing Level G)!
I would also request you to please treat the place as if it's your own. Please help keeping it clean and maintain it in the condition it's offered to you. For I have done every single detailing myself right from screwing the chairs to filling in the hand-washes; and it would upset me to see the place used inappropriately, disrespectful as well.
I wish you a Happy and Comfortable stay! In case you need to reach out to us, messaging is the best way. Once again, Welcome to my place, and Welcome to Sydney :)
