Great Cabin Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed in this cabin for approx. 5 days. It's about 45 minutes away from downtown Seattle, which was what we were looking for. We also took a day trip up to Vancouver, BC (about a 3 hour drive). This house is centrally located for all the areas we wanted to visit.

The river and mountains right out the back door were beautiful! The house was a perfect set up for us. My retired parents had the downstairs bedroom and bathroom to themselves and didn't have to worry about many stairs. There are a few steps at each entryway, but those were doable for my parents. My family (2 adults, 1 child) was able to use the upstairs bedroom, loft and bathroom.

This house was VERY clean! Instructions for check in and out were very clear and we had no problems. My only suggestion would be regarding the recyclables. The instructions mentioned putting the recycling and garbage in the shed, but that was locked when we were there and we were not able to use it. The instructions also mentioned bringing our recycling with us to drop off at a recycling center or place. This was our first time in the Northwestern area and had no clue where to take our recycling. We also had a 6:30 am Sunday flight so most places, I imagine, wouldn't have been open at that time of the morning. Possibly a list of locations or suggestions would help your guests.

We truly loved our time spent at this cabin and if/when we return to the area, will definitely look into staying here again!

Great house, great view, great area.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed staying here for the weekend. Sitting in the hot tub looking at the stars and listening to the river was amazing. The house is plenty large for the six of us, and was very clean and taken care of. They had all of the necessities for us to make some great meals as a family, and having a dishwasher was super handy.

A+ experience, highly recommend it!

Beautiful winter escape

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful house with wrap around deck and spacious hot tub (fit 6 adults and 1 baby with room to spare). Best feature of the house is the floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto the river, and up at the peak of Mount Index- so gorgeous on a clear day! The property is not as secluded as I was imagining (you look into other people's yards across the river) but it didn't end up feeling too intrusive since there's a good amount of trees dividing each property. We loved having 3 actual beds and 2 bathrooms + a mud room for the dogs- definitely the most comfortable VRBO spot we've found so far. The kitchen is well equipped- really the only thing we found lacking was wine glasses (there were only 4, to share between the 6 of us wine-lovers). It's about a 20 min drive east to Steven's Pass, where we took the whole crew snowshoeing on the Skyline Lake trail (beautiful, short, but major incline!) We then unwound in the evening with hot tub and Netflix. Overall: highly recommend for a relaxing get-away that's only a short trek out of Seattle.

Unbelievably beautiful natural setting

  • 5 of 5

To get here, you drive over the coolest one-lane bridge, and even though you're not far from civilization, it feels remote and untouched. The river is right outside the door, separated from the house only by a big deck with a table and chairs for socializing and a hot tub. We cooked meals, went for a couple of hikes, hung out in the sizable living/dining/kitchen, slept deeply in the quiet, and had an all around wonderful time.

Splendid setting and a great getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Having grown up on an island here in the Puget Sound and now living in the city, I needed a few days out of town for some space and mountain air. Mountain View Cabin was just the right place for this and more! The yard and large deck provided a great space for relaxing in the sun or in the shade, relaxing in the hot tub with the mountains and river in the foreground was perfect, and wading in the water was great as there were large areas clear of rocks where I set up a portable chair and let the river sweep over my feet. The sight of the suspension bride and songbirds also added to the scene. It was quiet, rejuvenating, and a splendid time - I plan to visit again!
