Gorgeous little apartment in a beautiful setting!
My partner and l stayed in this cosy, clean and comfortable apartment. The owner is so helpful and lovely and so were the hosts who assisted with everything. The welcome basket had fresh local produce that we loved. We rode on push bikes through the countryside to nearby towns for coffee, gelato etc. Or you can catch a bus to the train station to visit more of Florence. At night a few doors down is a lovely small restaurant that we could eat at after a day out. Delicious homemade Italian meals and lovely wine! The town is just stunning. The apartment has everything you need. A perfect relaxing magical getaway in a beautiful medieval town. Will return!
Dear Susan, how lovely to read your review and to know that you enjoyed your stay with us. It’s always great to know that our little welcome basket is appreciated, it certainly helps when arriving late at night when the shops are closed. It seems that you really did live like a local by getting around on public transport and bikes! As you found Vicopisano is ideally located to visit the must see destinations in Tuscany. I will let the little restaurant down the road know that you enjoyed dining at their place after a day out seeing the sights!
You were great guests and we do hope you will come back to live like a local again one day in the future. Till then take care and best wishes from Marie and Lorenzo (property managers) and Patrizia and family (property owners)
Loved living in a part of history.
Welcoming apartment right in the center of the town. Lovely. Perfect for a couple. Everything you needed was supplied including a welcome basket filled with treats as well as local meat and cheese in the fridge and a parking space! Local stores all within walking distance. Great hub for visiting Tuscany - Day trips to Pisa, Lucca, Volterra and Florence. Marie and Lorenzo were just a phone call away and always ready to help or make
a suggestion to make our stay better. Favorite part - our Italian cooking
lesson with Olimpia, a local chef. It was the "icing on the cake" to our Italy vacation.

Our stay in Vicopisano, a quiet little village near Pisa.
Comfortable apartment is fully furnished for preparing meals. However, bed slopes toward middle and could use a new mattress. In our opinion, getting to apartment from the airport requires a rental car equipped with GPS, which is also extremely helpful in getting from there to popular tourist towns such as Lucca, Volterra, Siena, etc. Free parking near apartment is a real plus. Our host, Marie, is English-speaking (a rarity among property renters in Italy, in our experience) and is very helpful with tourist advice. The town itself can be walked around completely in about ten or fifteen minutes. When we arrived in the early afternoon everything was closed. By 5pm we found a small market and a bakery open. We were told that restaurants in town generally open around 8pm. If you're looking to avoid city traffic this is the place to be.
Thank you for your review of Nido Bianco. It was lovely to read through your review and to hear that you enjoyed exploring the wider region of Tuscany such as Lucca, Volterra, Siena etc..which is so easy from Vicopisano. We are so happy that we were able to assist you with our local knowledge and recommendations. As you rightly said Vicopisano is not like big touristy towns or cities where the shops and restaurants stay open all day to cater for tourist. Here you will find a very authentic town where the restaurants open at Italian lunch and Dinner time and the locals still enjoy that afternoon siesta! I as sorry to hear that you did not find the bed comfortable, I have to be honest and say this has never been mentioned to us before but it is something which we will certainly look into. Thank you again for finding us it was great to meet you.

Really good time in Nido Bianco in Vicopisano. Great hosts, with lots of practical help and advice.
The property is really well equipped, with all the amenities you would need. Very clean and well maintained, with everything working perfectly. Great location within the village and the private garden area was a real bonus for breakfasts and evening drinks. Patrizia and Marie were very attentive and we particularly appreciated Marie's company on our visit to the nearby olive oil farm and her booking of local restaurants for us. Great base for visiting Florence, Lucca and Pisa. Marie was very helpful with advice about local restaurants and gelato shops. The personal touch from Marie, making sure we were well catered for, was fantastic and greatly appreciated.
This is an authentic Tuscan village, which is well worth a visit. We loved our stay here.

It was great to have met you and It would be our pleasure to welcome you back to Nido Bianco again one day in the future .

A great village to base yourself in
The property is small, but you can tell that from the pictures. There is a decked garden area at the rear which is lovely to sit in and we enjoyed a couple of meals there. The apartment is well equipped. You will pay five euros a day extra for the aircon but it is needed in summer. The apartment is near the church bells that ring all night. We adjusted after a day or so. The village is lovely, very authentic, nice cafe bars and not expensive. Lorenzo and Marie live nearby, and were very helpful in recommending where to go, where to eat and the local wine is lovely. Its a great place and recommended by us.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review for Nido Bianco. We are so pleased that you took advantage of the private garden and that you found the apartment well equipped and that the newly installed air/con was a welcome addition to our property. Thanks for pointing out to our guests how you enjoyed the authenticity of the village with it’s cafés and local bars. Vicopisano is truly a genuine small Tuscan town with friendly locals and yes a Medieval bell tower which strikes on the hour and every half hour. The clock tower is a feature of many small towns and villages in Tuscany and I’m afraid is very much a treasured tradition which most little towns will never dream of silencing so we are pleased to hear after a couple of nights and good local wine, you too became use to chime and enjoyed living like a local in Vicopisano! We hope you come back and visit us again one day, til then take care and best wishes.

Gorgeous and Lovely - And more than recreative!
We (my girl friend and me) really enjoyed our stay. Patrizia and Marie did their really best for us (small introduction tour through the city of vicopisano, lightening up candles in the backyard and so on and so far). The appartment indeed was stylish and romantic. Hopefully, we can enjoy it a second time. Definitely recommended to go here!
Dear Christian, thank you so much for taking the time to write a review for Nido Bianco. We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and we really hope that you come back and visit us again one day in the future. It was so lovely to meet you both. Best wishes Marie, Lorenzo and Patrizia.
Vicopisano is a truly Tuscan town situated on the lower slopes of the Monte Pisano, a range of hills which rises like an island between the provinces of Pisa and Lucca.
Vicopisano is the ideal location for those searching for a truly authentic experience - here you can live like a local and take home some memorable experiences such as witnessing the olive and grape harvest and sampling our local products.
A hilltop Medieval fortress and watch tower designed by the renaissance engineer Filippo Brunelleschi stands guard over the village and surrounding countryside.
The fortress is open to visitors at the weekends; a perfect place to spend a couple of hours exploring medieval dungeons, palace rooms and climbing the impressive watch tower, the small entrance fee includes a personal guided tour.
