Growing up in southeast Texas, the beach is the most cherished vacation spot for our family. We designed and built this home to accommodate the needs of our large family and it serves as our vacation home when not in rental service. It's loaded with features that make a large family gathering fun and safe. You'll find spices in cabinets, linens on the beds, and maybe some Blue Bell Ice Cream in the freezer. Just bring a bathing suit and some extra clothes. Everything else you need is here.

Our home is designed for large family gatherings and contains many features that will help make your vacation enjoyable. We've provided such things as locking gates on the sun deck (to protect the small kiddos), a "pack-n-play" for babies, plenty of hammocks, swings, and deck furniture, loads of outdoor and indoor games, satellite TV and movies (in all the rooms), a built-in double oven and extra large stove top, auxiliary ice maker, propane grill and spacious bar area downstairs, outdoor showers, and many more items too numerous to mention. You'll truly be impressed by the family friendly features we provide!

Perfection
This was the best! We were right on the beach. The beds were comfortable. Everything you could think of was provided. It was clean. It was a memorable weekend retreat for our group. Would definitely book again.

Beautiful place, relaxing getaway
It was a perfect weekend, the beachfront rental was beautiful. The view breathtaking and so much fun was had by all ages (2 to 81). I have stayed at other beachfront locations in Bolivar Peninsula, but this one was my favorite. The large, kid friendly porch over looking the ocean was my favorite! The owner was so great to work with.

Great Vacation
This beachfront home is very beautiful and spacious. We loved sitting on the deck and having coffee in the mornings and wine in the evenings. Actually, we spent most of our time on the upper deck. The lower deck was really nice as well with swings and hammocks. The house had tons of space and the AC worked great. We were really impressed with how quiet it was inside the house with the amount of beach traffic. The property manager was very accommodating and answered all of our questions super quickly. It was a perfect vacation for us and we cannot wait to go back.

This was a great place, the huge front deck was the perfect gathering place...sunrises, sunsets, full moon, fireworks, constellations, surf and sand! We were impressed with the cleanliness of the beach, the friendliness of the people, the presence of the police who were passing out trash Bags!
We had 21 family members and felt it to be a little tight in the common area, but most of the time were fine being scattered about the decks, the beach and swimming or fishing. Even when the beach was populated and music bumming out of cars, it seemed quiet! The AC was very effective.
Location
The Bolivar Peninsula is a narrow strip of land running parallel to the upper southeast Texas coast, bounded on one side by Galveston Bay and the other by the Gulf of Mexico. Rich in history, the Peninsula was once the playground of pirates and privateers and it still provides plenty of adventure today!
With 27 miles of sandy beaches, world-class birding and wildlife areas, fantastic fishing, shopping, and some of the best seafood dining to be found, there’s plenty of fun to be found along our shores.
Crystal Beach community stretches seven miles along Texas State Highway 87 in the middle of Bolivar Peninsula and is the perfect place to get away. Activities include walking, running, sunning, sailing, surfing, shelling, birding, crabbing, and just plain relaxing. With its small-town, quaint charm, the beach is relaxing and far away from the stress of city life and yet, just a short ferry ride to all that the Galveston/Houston Metroplex has to offer.
Crystal beach is one of the few places left that you can actually camp or drive on the beach (cars, golf carts, ATV’s, etc). You can beach comb for shells, boogie-board or surf, build a sand castle, fish, roast marshmallows, go kayaking, and watch a spectacular sunrise right on the beach.
Elsewhere in Bolivar, you can visit historic Fort Travis Seashore Park, dine on fresh seafood, play golf, shop, explore the many bird sanctuaries, rent a golf cart and cruise the beach, fish at Rollover Pass, go crabbing, or ride the Ferry. The entire length of the Bolivar Peninsula is part of the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail, which attracts enthusiasts from around the world.
Fun day trips include Moody Gardens, Schlitterbahn Waterpark, Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge, San Jacinto Monument, Space Center Houston, Kemah Boardwalk, Galveston Pleasure Pier, Seawolf Park, and walking The Strand shopping area in Galveston.
