Beautiful custom built home. Great for your Oregon Beach getaway

Bedrooms 3
Separate WC's1
Space 2,000 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom with ocean front view! Sleeps 8

This recently updated Oregon beach house is the perfect place for your beach vacation. There are 3 bedrooms located on the first floor. The master bedroom has a queen size bed with all new linens. The adjacent private bath has a shower and sink. There is also a second bedroom with another queen size bed. The third bedroom has 2 bunk beds, perfect for kids or sleeping 4 adults. These two bedrooms have easy access to another bathroom with a bath/shower combo and sink. There is also a small laundry area on the first floor with a washer / dryer and utility sink.

Head upstairs from the bedrooms to find a breath taking, ocean front view! The recently updated kitchen is on this floor and has all new stainless steel appliances, warming drawer, honed marble counter tops and a farm sink. This dream kitchen has an attached bar with seating for three so that you can cook and entertain your guests while they sit at the bar. The house has an open floor plan with the kitchen opening up into a beautiful dining area. The large dining table seats 6-8 people very comfortably. Just off the dining area, the living room has 2 very nice linen couches, one with a chaise for stretching out and enjoying a quiet afternoon at the beach. There is also a large, flat screen TV witha DVD player available for your entertainment.

There's a deck with a barbecue and outdoor furniture just off the kitchen/dining area. The view from the deck provides an on-the-beach feel without the sand! It's a perfect place for watching boats quietly pass and a great place for whale watching!

The third floor is a loft with another seating area and a million dollar beach view! It's the perfect place to relax with friends or family. The loft is carpeted and has always been a fun place with plenty of room for extra guests with sleeping bags.

The beach access is just steps away from the home. Gleneden Beach is a very quiet area of the Oregon Coast. Usually there are a few sets of people on the beach, but really, never more than that. There are plenty of great places to build a bonfire, roast marshmallows, and soak up the fresh ocean air.

The home was built just for personal use and has just become available for rent very recently. Though it's a wonderful family home, the driveway/access to the house is very steep and can be difficult for small children and people with mobility issues. It's a cozy, clean and well furnished home just perfect for getting away from it all!

About Missy Samiee

The house was built by my parents in 1976. Growing up in the Willamette Valley, we spent many weekends at our family's "beach house". During the daytime, we'd play for hours on the beach. At night we''d play cards, games, cook and watch movies! My memories of going to the beach house over the summer or for weekend getaways are all so wonderful. Now, with 3 kids of my own, I couldn't be more thankful that I get to share this home away from home with them, too!

Missy Samiee purchased this house in 1976

Why Missy Samiee chose Coastal Oregon

The unobstructed oceanfront view makes this home the perfect Oregon coast vacation spot. The area is very quiet with very little beach traffic and provides a very peaceful setting for your getaway.

What makes this house unique

The home is recently updated, but still has a relaxed beach feel. The house is very family friendly and even has built in gates guarding little ones from the stairs! The views from the loft, living area, dining room and kitchen are expansive and always changing. The house provides a perfect backdrop for easy living and vacationing!

Beautiful views in cozy home

  • 5 of 5

We had the privilege of staying in this house for a month! We arrived and it was clean and even bigger then the pictures showed. We absolutely loved our time in Depoe Bay. The kitchen had everything we needed to make dinners and eat on the patio or the large beautiful dining table and enjoy the expansive ocean views! We saw three whales swimming across during our stay! We had no problem accessing the trail to the beach while we were there and already miss our morning walks on the beach looking for agates. The beds were all comfortable and our son stayed in the loft with an aero bed. The owners were so easy to work with and left a sweet gift for our family. Our family of 6 truly had the time of our lives. We became regulars at Pirate Coffee Company and Highway 101 burgers. Drift creek falls hike is close to the house and absolutely gorgeous! We saw seals at Taft beach and visited the science museum in Newport. Though we loved all that we saw along the coast some of our best memories were had at this house- Watching susnsets from the deck, having family meals and playing games late into the night. Thank you for having us!

Fantastic home, location, and host. The house is bigger than it looks in the pictures, and it's updated interior and prime location make for the perfect coastal outing. With a hospitable owner, groceries right down the street, and a beautiful view, you can't go wrong with this spot! We especially enjoyed it's easy access to well-known coastal sites within an hour to the north and to the south.

Worst ever.

  • 1 of 5

Where to begin.. House was dirty with dust, pet hair, grease in the kitchen, floors were not clean, no mattress protectors on the beds, broken glass, and we found a dirty nylon and condom wrapper under the couch while picking up my 2yr old's Legos. The heat went out on our second night, my kids were up ALL night long unable to sleep in the Oregon coast winter with zero heat source. The owner only gave my deposit back after we contacted her a second time, and gave us no refund for staying in a house with no heat the second night. We were to the point that we tried closing all the vents at 4am to try and get any heat we could into the room where our children were sleeping. By morning they were in their beds with snow coats, hats, and gloves on. We are reasonable people, but this was the worst experience our family has ever had staying in a hotel or vacation rental. We weren't expecting a palace by any means, but this was almost surreal. The home would have been fine if the owners took pride in the cleanliness of the home and the quality of the stay for their guests. This home was not cleaned between stays, and the owner told us the pet hair was probably from the people who stayed in the house before us.. What?! I have never written a bad review for any product or service, but I feel that it's appropriate here as we have them the opportunity to make it right and they decided that was giving us back our cleaning deposit.

Owner's Response: Jessica, I'm sorry that you did not have a good experience. We spoke with our housekeeper, who cleaned just prior to your stay, about your issues with the cleanliness and she definitely was surprised to hear your concerns. She's a wonderful, hard worker that has not let us down in the past, and I know she'll work even harder to keep the house as clean as possible in the future. That being said, your review comes as such as a surprise. The day you arrived (Christmas Eve) I received a call asking if you could stay an additional night. The next time I heard from your party was 2 days later when your husband called the morning of your departure (5:30 am) to let me know that the heat wasn't working. I gave him a couple of suggestions, and waited up to hear if they helped. No return call. After calling you, I had our housekeepers out that same day. They discovered that the heat was working just fine -- only that the heating vents were mysteriously closed. Regarding your deposit, VRBO handles the return of a the security deposit and this is done immediately following a stay, unless an owner requests otherwise. I checked with VRBO, as we've previously discussed, and your deposit was returned in full, on 1/1/17 -- within just about a week of your stay. Anyway, I apologize that your holiday wasn't what you wanted as we sincerely pride ourselves on providing our guests with a wonderful experience. - Missy

Lovely home with incredible view. Nice updated kitchen. Enjoyed our stay.

We would rent this house again. It would be nice to have some furniture on the third floor that accommodates sleeping. For the most part we didn't use the top floor at all. Bathrooms are old, but are clean and well kept. Also, more flatware in the kitchen is needed. All and all, comfortable house and such a great view.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much. We'd love to get a sofa sleeper for the loft so our guests can have more time to soak up that view. Great idea and we'll do our best to make it happen. Extra silverware, that we can do right away! Thanks for renting our home and we hope to have you again! Missy

Nice Vacation House

  • 4 of 5

Thank you for sharing your house. It has an amazing view, nice kitchen, fresh flowers were displayed (even the supplies was from Trader Joe's). But the little discomforts were the beach access (we tied a rope to help but it was stolen after a few days), it would be nice if there were more table spoons, the hose for washing feet should be fixed, there were no activities for kids, and there was no cable T.V, also it would be nice if there was a BBQ grill. Otherwise it was a nice house for vacation. Thank you again.
