About the property

2bed/2bath Cozy Log House On Ski Tracks by the River. Stylish Log Furniture

Please visit our beautiful log home that sits right on Methow Community Ski Trail, the longest cross country ski trail in America. Trail is stunning both in the winter and in the summer when it becomes a kids friendly biking trail. Situated on a scenic 6 mile drive on a paved road from the western themed town of Winthrop that has supermarkets, ice rink, restaurants etc. Our log cabin sits on a private community of 40 acres, only 50 yards from the Methow river. Access road is plowed for year round access. Hot tub is open in the winter, outside pool in the summer.

Each of the two rooms sleeps 3, 2 more

people can sleep on a queen sofa in the living room for a total of 8. Second floor room is connected to the living room, but also conveniently has it's own entrance from the outside.

Gas fire place, guitar, wi-fi, two smart LCD TVs, cell phone coverage (TMobile, Verizon,

AT&T), table games are all in the house for you to enjoy.

50 yards to Methow river with beautiful rock beaches and a large island where kids like to play.

Resort has outdoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, beach volleyball court, kids playground, horse shoe ring, table tennis,

picnic tables and large grassy areas to play in. All amenities are included in your rate.

Enjoy the silence, watch the local wildlife and wonder at the star filled sky in this paradise surrounded by meadows and aspen trees.

We purchased the Dancing Wolf in April 2015. We rebuilt the balcony, upgraded the bathrooms, insulated the floor and bought solid log furniture to match the house style. We have fallen in love with the area, and hope you will too.

Accommodation includes bed sheets, towels and full kitchen equipment.

Check in time is at 4PM, check out time is at 11AM.

Why Jiri Pertold chose Winthrop

We visited Methow valley often since 2009 and ended up buying this beautiful log cabin in 2015.

For us, lovers of stunning nature, Methow valley proved irresistible. Mountain views, horse ranches, world class cross country skiing, great weather, silence, flowers, birds, the river and relaxed local live style. Either you already love it, or you soon will.

What makes this cabin unique

Entering this home is a continuation of fascination with Methow valley nature. Huge pine tree logs that the house and furniture are built from, grew on the slopes of Methow valley. Very different feel from a standard wood stick construction.

From the living room, you can see the snow covered peeks, 40 acres of lawn, aspen trees and deer wondering around daily.

Comfy and happy

  • 4 of 5

We (4 adults and 2 dogs) had a great time at Dancing Wolf and were very comfortable during our stay. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked with dishes, pans, etc.

Our only concern when we arrived was we couldn't find any heating for the upstairs, but we quickly figured out that if we left open the 1st floor access door to the upstairs, that was enough to heat both floors.

Owner's Response: The heating control knob is in the upstairs room on the wall.

Great cabin with nie ammenities.

  • 5 of 5

Only issue was the pool and hot tub - still winter-proofed and it was 90 degrees outside. Other than that, the cabin was great and comfortable.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your great rating. Pool will open soon, sorry. The hot tub is open all year around, not sure if you found it. It has a separate entrance from the pool.

Comfortable home, direct trail access

  • 5 of 5

We found our stay to be very comfortable with everything we needed for two families with small children. The direct trail access was most important to us and worked out perfect. The hot tub was nice and big and never crowded. The private road was quiet and meant we felt the kids were safe playing out in the snow without worrying about fast cars passing through. We loved it and will look here in the future.

cozy and pleasant

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at this log house! The area is beautiful, the home is spacious and cozy - we had everything we needed. The onsite manager was also very responsive when we needed new batteries changed for the thermostat. We didn't take advantage of the hot tub, but our boys enjoyed playing in the yard and utilizing the snow sleds.

Wonderful cozy cabin.

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for a wonderful stay in your cabin. The main living area was the best part along with the front deck.

The only thing that would have been nice is to have the passcode for the deck entrance, not the second floor entrance. Loved being so close to the Methow River.

Owner's Response: The pass code is the same for both entrances, 2nd floor and the deck. We will ask our cleaner to verify that there is no problem with the lock.
