Great house in a great location

  • 4 of 5

Spoke to Alistair before we went about possibly getting into our accommodation earlier and cleaning lady was at this house when we arrived. Although she spoke no English we managed to arrange a spot on the property where she would leave the key for us.

House typically French.

Stunning to look at from the front and within a 5 minute walk to the beach.

On the edge of the village but only a 10 minute walk to the centre where all the restaurants and bars are.

The house itself has stunning views overlooking the Somme from all the back windows and the views from the front overlook the square with the church.

The house is ideal for a large party with its spacious 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms.

The only downside to this accommodation were the mattresses....very old and dirty and need replacing.

Would stay here again and wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to others

Peaceful family house full of character and charm

  • 5 of 5

The house exceeded our expectations in many ways: it is spacious, central, very La Falaise is an impressive family house, well-equipped, and has retained a lot of original late 19th century features like the walls and built-in wardrobes. The views over the bay or Saint Martin Church are superb, and a pleasure to wake up to every morning. The week-end flew by and we would like to come back again and longer. The owner is not only very helpful but also very kind and understanding and it is no wonder that this house is booked throughout the year!

Beautiful house and town

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful family holiday at La Falaise during Easter 2016. The house is very comfortable with beautiful views and in a central position within the old town. It's an easy walk to the beach, estuary and town and there are plenty of local shops and supermarkets nearby. The house contains everything you need for all ages and our party ranged from 18 months to 76! The beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms also had English plugs in the bedrooms, which was very useful for the teenagers. I would highly recommend this property.

Alastair was very professional and efficient. It was easy to communicate and he was very patient with our many queries.

Stunning House and Fantastic Area

  • 5 of 5

The house was superb and exceeded our expectations, with spacious and well appointed rooms. There were fantastic sea views from the living room and bedrooms.

The house was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. Whilst there were only three in our party, with two bedrooms and one bathroom on each floor, the house can accommodate the largest of families.

The beach, shops and good restaurants are within easy walking distance, not to mention the many historic buildings, including the nearby church.

We have already recommended the house and area to family and friends and, we will be booking again next year.

Super family house

  • 5 of 5

Four of us enjoyed a lovely short stay during November at La Falaise, a spacious, quirky, authentic Belle Epoch house ideally situated above the river providing amazing views; binoculars are the first thing that should be packed for a stay in St Valery and this trip proved rewarding for seeing the wildlife (especially the seals) at this time of the year. A cosy welcome awaited us when we arrived at the house and although we enjoyed exceptionally bright and mild autumnal weather during our stay I would not hesitate to stay again during the winter as the heating in the house was perfectly adequate. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the parking in St Valery is free over the winter months so we were able to park the car right outside La Falaise, where it remained for our stay. We know St Valery sur Somme quite well and knew that the house would be ideally situated for all amenities, and were pleased to find that enough restaurants and facilities were open at that time of year to enable to enjoy this interesting town once again. Our booking was handled smoothly by the agent and we received our booking deposit back quickly. We hope to visit again.

A wonderful stay!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in La Falaise. The views from the house are amazing. Watching the tide and even the seals from our window was very easeful. Comfortable and charming rooms which were clean and the kitchen and dining room were well equipped.

We'e been several times in Saint-Valéry, but this is undoubtedly one of the most charming places!
