Bide-a-wee is Scottish for "stay a little while." Located in the town of Forks, our cottage is a roomy and comfortable base for exploring the Hoh Rainforest and Olympic National Park beaches. After a day of hiking and beach combing, you can relax in front of the wood stove, play games, take a bath in the old clawfoot tub or stroll through the neighborhood and down a trail to the Calawah River. The kitchen and bath have been recently renovated. The carpet is a bit worn, but it is clean.
Two bedrooms are located on the main floor. The third bedroom is located upstairs. We use it as a TV room, but it is furnished with two love seats that fold out into twin-sized beds.
The loft area upstairs has a futon that makes into a toddler bed. A surprisingly comfortable deluxe queen air mattress can also be set up in this area.
The kitchen is fully equipped with appliances, spices and assorted mismatched dishes. We offer complimentary coffee, tea and cocoa.
We keep a variety of games and puzzles in the hall cabinet for evening entertainment after a day of exploring.
Bideawee Cottage was built in 1923 and was moved from Main Street to the current location in the 1970’s. There are some unique built in cabinets that add to the charm.
We live here half of the time as a base for work. I hope you enjoy some of the antique oil lamps on display.
