Please feel free to share your comments and ideas as to how we may improve on our facilities and service. Thank you.
We have just returned from a stay in Kalkan at Villa Sofia. The villa is beautiful, very light and airy with more than enough room for the four of us. The pool was perfect and maintained everyday, and the garden area was well kept with lovely plants - there were plenty of sun loungers, a table for outside dining and another set of table and chairs in the shade. We had a great time and any problems we had were dealt with swiftly by Ruth and the local representative, Sahin (including no water on our last day)!
We hired a car and visited Kas, Patara Beach and Kaputas Beaach - all well worth a visit. I would have to say that although you can walk down into Kalkan (15-20 mins) it is too hot in August and you end up exhausted and overheated by the time you reach the restaurants - so car hire or taxi is definitely the best option. In cooler months I'm sure it's not a problem. Kalkan is definitely a great place to go, and enjoying the local beaches, beach clubs and roof top dining in the evening is a must!
Just returned from a wonderful stay in the beautiful resort of Kalkan, and the wonderful Villa Sofia. The villa is well equipped, well maintained & provided plenty of space for our family of 5. The villa was cleaned 3 times during our 2 week stay & outdoor area & pool were attended to daily. The walk to the harbour is 15-20 minutes but a very pleasurable stroll down, walking back up is not for the faint hearted as the villa sits quite high on the hillside & the roads are steep!! However, for a very reasonable £3 there are plenty of taxis to run you back up the hill. We tended to stroll in of an evening & taxi back. Ruth was lovely & provided us with a lot of information prior to us leaving the UK. She very kindly organised our taxi transfers to and from the airport & these were both efficient and comfortable. On our first day, we had a problem with the hot water, I contacted Ruth who organised for Sahin to come and take a look, this all happened on the same day. I felt that nothing was too much trouble. We arrived at the Villa quite late on our first night, so it was a welcome sight to see that the fridge had been stocked with essential items. I would definitely recommend Villa Sofia to anybody considering booking. Thank you Ruth!
Had a fantastic week at the villa and in Kalkan, wished it had been longer.
The villa was excellent, very clean, well maintained and spacious. We particularly enjoyed the swimming pool, plenty of space to sun bathe.
There are also beautiful views of the bay.
Would highly recommend Villa Sofia
We have recently returned from a wonderful relaxing holiday at the luxurious Villa Sofia. The villa had everything as promised on the website - and the photos really do not do it justice! We loved its location (superb views and 15 minutes from downtown Kalkan) and its efficient air-conditioning always gave us respite from the heat of the day, when we felt like it. Cooling off was made even more pleasant by the lovely pool - with water temperature just right. During the first few days we enjoyed walking to the town but then were tempted by so much to see and do in the area that we hired a car. Hiring was a really easy and stress-free process, with the minimum of form-filling - and no excess or deposit to pay! The journeys to and from the airport in a comfortable people carrier were arranged for us and were excellent. We discovered some fascinating archaeological sights within short distance, for example Patara (also with a fantastic beach), the Saklikent Gorge and the rock dwellings of Tlos, a little further inland. There is little traffic on the roads in this part of Turkey so driving was really easy.
Altogether a delightful holiday at the Villa Sofia - which we heartily recommend - and we can't wait to return!
We have just come back from Villa Sofia and we had two weeks holiday in Kalkan. We found the villa to be very confortable and enjoyed the luxury of having our own private swimming pool. It had everything we needed. We strongly recommend this villa to anyone wishing to visit this beautiful part of Turkey. It is very laid back and relaxed and this is what we wanted. Hopefully we will come back in the future...
We have just returned from a fantastic 2 week stay at this villa.Couldn't fault it really....wonderful views of the bay, spacious sized rooms, lovely furnishings, great pool and serviced twice a week. We also thought it was v.good value for money relative to similar properties in for example Portugal or Italy.
In terms of getting around we hired a car but you could get away with not having to do so. My daughter & I walked down to the town one afternoon and back but should have caught a taxi for the return as steep climb back to the villa and obviously hot !
Would thoroughly recommend Villa Sofia and the beautiful town of Kalkan.
Kalkan is one of the most attractive and unspoilt resorts on the Mediterranean coast with its fine harbour, marina and myriad of narrow streets of Ottoman-Greek houses. An extensive range of over 100 restaurants can be found offering either simple home cooking or sophisticated harbour side dining or rooftop restaurants with magnificent views over the bay. After dinner wander through the cobbled streets which house an array of shopping opportunities featuring traditional carpet shops, antique shops, leather shops etc. Market day is Thursday offering an amazing selection of fruit, veg, clothing and more! There are supermarkets (who will deliver your groceries FOC) and butchers, bakers etc. nearby. Whatever you do Villa Sofia is the perfect place to stay in luxury. Hire a car or take a taxi to Patara Beach - beautiful sand, safe bathing and unspoilt surrounds. There are sunbeds and a restaurant. This beautiful area has already caught the eye of the Sunday Times Newspaper!
