Nate purchased this cabin in 1992
This cabin has a spectacular view. The large deck provides for great outdoor living while the historic log structure makes for a warm and comfortable interior complete with the original stone fireplace.
The cabin is quiet and peaceful yet just minutes away from all the amenities that Hot Springs and the Diamond Lakes area has to offer. It's a great home base for getting out to explore the area and then come back to and relax.
Love this place! Pretty, quiet and well maintained. I stayed last year with a girlfriend of mine and we had such a wonderful experience that we wanted to make it a regular January trip. It is only a 4.5 hour drive from Dallas. This year she could not go so I went with my boyfriend instead. He loved it too. We hiked, picked up some awesome water to take home, ate wonderful food and took in an Escape Game called Gr8Escapes in the downtown area. We are definitely going to be returning. Nate is easy to work with and was a great help when I needed to make a last minute change on the reservation. Hot Springs is beautiful and this cabin is the perfect home to relax and enjoy your stay in!
My husband and I really enjoyed staying in this cabin during a few kid-free days. It was very cozy, quiet and peaceful. The cabin itself isn't the most extravagant place, but it was nice and just had everything a cabin needs without all of the fluff. It was exactly what we were looking for: a comfortable place (with a comfy bed!) to getaway and reconnect without distractions. I wish it wouldn't have rained so much so we could've enjoyed the nice deck surrounding most of the cabin.
The manager of the cabin was also very helpful and attentive.
I don't think I would recommend visiting Hot Springs during the beginning of January, due to most of the downtown businesses being closed for "maintenance" or vacation, but I'd definitely recommend this cabin!
Stayed here years ago and it was as charming as I remembered it. Awesome log cabin with a great view and proximity to everything!
We stayed at this Cabin during December so it was freezing outside, the problem with the cabin is that it doesn't have heating. The owner installed two heater/ac units, one in the living room and one in the kitchen. The cabin has such poor insolation that these units are practically useless, we had them blasting on high the entire time and it just couldn't hold heat. After the first night our water froze and we were unable to use the bathroom (toilet or shower) and kitchen sink. So all basic amenities were useless. The owner said to leave the faucets dripping overnight after contacting him, and unfortunately it did not solve the problem as everything was already too frozen up. Luckily we were in Hot Springs so we hung out downtime for almost the entire trip, the only thing we could do in the cabin was sleep when we got back at night. The owner provided an electric blanket on the bed, which helped us sleep at night. For this cabin I would definitely stay in it again when the weather is nice outside as it would have been a comfortable stay otherwise (the owner provides a nice large television in the living room), but during super cold or hot times I would pass. I'm very frustrated with VRBO that I had to pay their ridiculous fee and wasn't warned about any of these problems, I would expect they would have a better understanding of there properties. Using this site you pay a high fee to book through VRBO and it's not worth it when they can't even inform you there's no heating in a property. I will use Air B&B in the future.
Incredible getaway cabin! Super helpful host! Great place to be close to Hot Springs, but feel like your in your own little place. Easy access, up to date amenities, and a comfy bed made our stay top notch! highly recommend!
We enjoyed our stay. Relaxing on the covered porch enjoying the lake view was the highlight. Kitchen was well supplied. Cabin was clean and organized, easy to find whatever you needed. Bed was comfortable. The only drawback was that the leather couch and loveseat need to be replaced. Once you sink down into them, it is hard to get up or out. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and wanted to stay longer.
