Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday cottage in Burdett - Peach Orchard lake level

Newly Remodeled one bedroom cottage next to waters edge

Just steps away from Seneca Lake!

Walk out the front door and enjoy coffee and casual dining on the shore underneath the shade of beautiful old-growth trees. Newly-renovated cottage with air conditioning, a queen bed, pullout double bed, new appliances including microwave. This is in the beautiful Peach Orchard neighborhood on a town maintained, paved road. Unlike most lake cottages that have lakewater or beachwell water systems, this cottage is served by the town municipal water system.

Location offers the best of both worlds - the peacefulness of lake living and the excitement of local tourist activities. Many major wineries are with in just a few miles, outlet malls are a quick trip down the highway, and world-famous attractions such as the Corning Museum of Glass and Watkins Glen International are less than 45 minutes away.

Get away from it all, but don't give up a thing, in this charming and bright lakeside cottage!

two kayaks, a paddle boat and row boat are available for use by our guests.

Watkins Glen International Nascar weeked has four night minimum.

This is a seasonal use cottage and is only rented from May to mid October.

A great little property in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

This is a really nice property in a great location. I am a frequent traveler to Seneca Lake and usually stay at hotels but this is a MUCH better option. When you don't feel like wine tasting or sight seeing, you still have PLENTY to do. The cottage has multiple boats to use, you can swim in the lake(depending on time of year), relax by the firepit or cookout on the grill. The cottage itself is very clean and well maintained and is the perfect size for 2 people. I will not hesitate to stay here again.

Very Nice Cozy Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is a very nice comfortable and cozy cottage right on the water. It was the perfect location for a weekend getaway. Seriously, the only sounds we heard was the sound of the water, so quiet and peaceful. Cottage is well maintained and very clean. Just minutes from Watkins Glen and more winery's you could ask for. Thanks again Bob and Diana for a great weekend.

Peaceful bliss with an amazing view at this little lakeside gem!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful little cottage in a location that is perfect! Bob and Diana are super nice and ensured we had everything we needed! We would definitely recommend to stay here if you are a couple or single looking for a quiet, peaceful retreat at the lake.

We enjoyed morning coffee with one of the prettiest views and slept with the windows open to hear the soothing sounds of the waves lapping the shore. At night, we enjoyed the fire pit on the shore ( bring your own wood) and watching the stars - just pure bliss. There is plenty of wildlife to entertain you too - chipmunks, ducks, gulls and even a beaver out for an early morning swim!

We tried the paddle boat, kayaks and row boat too. Note - do be careful as it can get a bit windy and wavy on the lake but at other times, it is smooth as glass. Nearby you will find great wineries, parks to hike in and other fun things to explore (we stopped at a barn sale and enjoyed checking out the antiques.)

Inside the cottage is very clean, simple and modern, with all the basics you should need plus you are not far from Wal-mart & Watkins Glen. We really are looking forward to a return visit soon!

Ideal spot for relaxing and wine tasting

  • 5 of 5

This property was exactly as described. The owners were friendly and helpful. Even though they live close by they were not at all intrusive. Perfect size for 2 to comfortably stay, immaculately kept, and right on the Lake! The views are amazing, sunsets breathtaking!! You can drive up the road and visit your choice of wineries just minutes away or go a little further away to Watkins Glen State Park with more amazing sights and things to do. Actually you don't even need to leave the property to have a good time, it is a getaway enough in itself. We had a short stay, but plan on returning to enjoy all it has to offer and take in more of the local area as well!

Snug and clean cabin for fit people

  • 2 of 5

We found the snug little cabin excellently kept and clean. Cabin and the nice view are exactly as described. Swimming is a bit inconvenient, though, as there are lots of weeds, sharp mussels on the rocks and the occasional fishbone which one needs to get by. There is a dock that would perfectly do the job, but it is preserved for exclusive usage by the hosts. The hosts appear not to be used to letting guests onto their own property which is what they made us feel from the very first to the very last minute. Be prepared to be confronted with a huge unleashed dog that does exactly what he wants or to wake up to the sound of the host’s hammer on planks which made it very easy for us to leave this location.

Owner's Response: We are glad that you found our Cottage to be well kept and clean, we strive to keep it spotless for all of our guests. We are sorry that the rest of your stay did not meet your expectations. If you had told us of these issues we would have made every attempt to improve your experience during your stay. If we had known that the overly friendly dog visiting our neighbors was bothering you, we would have addressed this immediately with them. The private family dock on the adjoining property is not part of the rental. The dock is currently under renovation and is not safe for any use at this time, especially swimmers in bare feet that might get a splinter. Beautiful Seneca Lake is a natural lake and we cannot change the condition of the lake bottom, we recommend that guests use lake shoes in the water. You would likely experience the same conditions at any cottage on this lake. If lake swimming is not what you expected, a hotel with an indoor pool might be more appropriate for future stays. Unfortunately, a hotel could not offer the lakeside living experience and the natural beauty that this location offers!

Very Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful cottage to enjoy the beauty of the lake. Very clean and the bed is very comfortable. You come here to enjoy the lake or wineries. There are beautiful state parks all around the area to enjoy along with traveling into Corning to enjoy the Glass museum.
