Description

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cabin in Gatlinburg - Quiet Times

This beautiful log cabin called 'Quiet Times' is located on a private road in the mountains about 2 miles from downtown Gatlinburg. Inside you will find all wood floors and walls as well as vaulted ceilings. This beautiful log home features two bedrooms with king sized beds with pillow top mattresses, plus a sleeper sofa (sleeps up to 6 people), two full baths, a fully equipped kitchen, and a washer and dryer. There is a large family room with a real wood-burning stove with a glass front and free firewood. There is cable TV in both bedrooms. The family room has an 52' HD flat screen TV, DVD player, VCR, and some movies for you to enjoy). Off of the kitchen you will find a nice dining area and all glass sitting/reading room with a great view of the mountains and woods.

On the front porch there is a swing and rocking chairs and under the gazebo you will find a large hot tub.

This cabin is very nicely furnished with super comfortable beds and is very clean. All cabins are pet free and smoke free. We start you off with fresh coffee, hot chocolate mix, cider mix, and popcorn for our special guests during their stay. Nice property for girls weekend

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Quiet Times. It was a nice, clean and comfortable cabin in the woods. As one day it rained all day, we did spend a lot of time hanging out at the cabin, sitting in hot tub, and cooking in the cabin. Our only complaint is the steep drive-way causing one of our cars to bottom out despite being so careful. We took Uber's at night to avoid the driveway and the curvy roads in the dark! Overall a great stay!

Misleading Discription

  • 1 of 5

The cabin is NOT secluded as the description would lead you to think. In fact you have 3 neighbors. Two are only a 25 feet or so away. You can hear them talking, sitting on their porch, washing dishes, etc. Your porch directly faces the neighbors and has no view of anything but that. The internet is horrific. It will only let you search and not click on any links without a password. I would not have mined because I could have used my cell phone hot spot except you will be lucky to get one bar. On a working vacation this was a disaster for us.

The interior of the cabin is very nicely decorated. However, the shower pressure is non existant, hard to wash long hair. The beds are cheap and horribly uncomfortable sagging in the middle and hard on the frame edge of the mattress. I felt like it was a Motel 6 bed. The pillows looked and felt like you were the 1,000th person to use them, deflated, foldable (means full of debris). Definitly need to upgrade beds and pillows. The master bedroom TV was extremely small and only gets maybe 6 stations the rest are music or infomercials. The floor boards creak insanely loud if you have to get up in the middle of the night it's going to wake others. You are so close to a busy road that you can hear trucks/traffic all the time instead of nature.

The two decks are nice and would be better if had a view. Cabin was well cleaned and maintained, very nicely decorated. Excellent location to park. For a working vacation couple seeking privacy and wilderness it did not fit the bill.

Great Property but slightly misrepresented

  • 4 of 5

Overall my family and I loved our 10 night stay at the Cabin. We had lots of positives and a few negatives. I read most of the reviews on the cabin before choosing this one, hopefully my perspective will be useful in assisting others with their decision. I will start with the negative:

1. Privacy was one of the top traits we were looking for when deciding on our cabin. The house is advertised as one of 3 or 4 houses on a private road. This led me to believe it would be fairly private. When we pulled into the road...it was more like a long driveway with 3 houses sharing the end of it. Meaning, all three houses were literally within an underhand toss of each other. We were slightly disappointed with this feature. Thankfully both neighbors were quiet for our entire stay. It would be ideal if you had a large family renting all three places. Parking was tight. I understand certain camera angles will better portray the positive features of the house which increases sales, but my recommendation is to take a picture showing how close the houses are to each other so there are no surprises.

2. Wireless internet was pretty difficult to access. Luckily, Racheal and the property manager, were more than willing to take time to walk us through accessing it. A recommendation is to have step by step instructions listed in the cabin to make it easier on the renters.

3. Small maintenance issues when checking in. Little to no firewood and a small leak in the upstairs bathroom. Rachael again was very helpful in dealing with the firewood issue and came up with a quick fix. As far as the bathroom, I didn't even mention it because it wasn't that significant.

Now for the Positives:

1. Racheal the property manager was awesome, nice, and always answered her phone. Thanks!

2. Property was clean upon arrival

3. Great location to access everything in Gatlinburg. literally 1 min from the Bypass and 3 or 4 to the main entrance of the park

4. Bears showed up for one night....all three hung out on our porch for an hour or so playing around (Cool experience)

5. Fore the most part everything was in good working order for our stay

6. Most comfortable beds my wife and I have ever slept in

Lastly, like I said overall our experience was good, I definitely would recommend this house to others as long as they understood how close the other cabins are to it.

Adorable & comfortable cabin.

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay at Quiet Times cabin. It was quite cozy & cute inside. We had the opportunity to see a mother bear & two cubs which hung around the property for about 20 minutes one evening!

The cabin is both a short drive from the park entrance & downtown Gatlinburg.

We also used Smoky Mountain Grocery to have groceries waiting for us upon our arrival.

Only two minor complaints I can think of. The kitchen light was out making preparing food difficult, and the grill gate needs to be cleaned.

I would recommend this cabin to anyone wishing to visit the Smoky Mountains.

Wonderful time!

Great stay! House was clean, great location close to downtown Gatlingburg and Pigeon Forge. We even got to see a mama bear and three cubs playing outside the cabin. Will definitely come back!

Nice, quiet and comfortable...

  • 4 of 5

I recommend Quiet Times! It was very well maintained, and comfortable. When we first arrived, the air wouldn't come on...and it was a very hot day! We called the owners, went into town to have dinner and run by the grocery store, and when we got back, the air was fixed! We really appreciated the quick way it was handled. Would love to go back someday...the Pucketts from Louisiana.
