Born and raised in Southern California, I have always had an affinity to the beach. I travel frequently and often stay in VRBO rentals. I've had such a positive experience that I decided to share my guest house with others.
Robert Zavala purchased this cottage in 2014
The proximity to the beach and other area attractions make this location ideal. The neighborhood is historic and retains most of it's turn of the century charm. I feel fortunate to call this place home.
The guest house is steps to the beach. Centrally located between Los Angeles and Orange County, Long Beach provides the perfect launching point to enjoy all that Southern California has to offer.
Fabulous location half a block to the beach and walking distance to wonderful shopping and restaurants. Apartment has everything you could need. Robert is a wonderful host!
Robert couldn't have been more helpful! He gave us several suggestions of coastal drives, restaurants, and activities before we even arrived! He met us at the house and showed us around. We enjoyed the quaint sitting area in the back and the proximity to the beach. This is a wonderful neighborhood and such a warm, inviting place. The bed was very comfortable and space was just right. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.
Because we were interested in visiting the Long Beach Museum of Art as well at the Long Beach Museum of Latin American Art, we chose the Governor's Guest Beach House for it proximity to both. It turned out to be an excellent choice. We do have a suggestion for a very minor improvement which would be to put a full length mirror, perhaps on the inside of one of the clothes closets. The 17 stairs up to the unit could potentially be a problem for some folks. Otherwise, we found this guest house absolutely perfectly suited to our comfort and needs.
My husband and I enjoyed the sparkling clean and cozy setting of the apartment. Perfect size for 2 but with room to have family visit comfortably. We also really enjoyed the access to the bicycles so we could take a ride on the bike path on the beach across the street.
Robert was an attentive host and was helpful throughout the entire process. We would absolutely recommend this rental and will use it again if we are in the area.
The house was beautiful and well cleaned. The house had everything one could need from fixing breakfast to a bike ride on the beach. My wife and I cant wait to go back. Thank you Robert for a wonderful stay. oh and their was total privacy the whole trip ...would recommend to any one, great stay..
Robert was a great host and very accommodating. He met me when I arrived and showed me the beach house and the amenities. Parking in that area of town can be tricky but he was willing to let me use a dedicated spot by the garage which I really appreciated since I had my 2 year old son in tow.
The house is very nicely furnished, upgraded and clean. It has A/C which usually in Long Beach is not needed, but they were having a little hot spell and it was very nice to have! I made a few meals in the kitchen and it had all of the utensils that I needed. He even supplied coffee pods and creamer, which was an added bonus.
A few nice touches that we didn't get to take advantage of are the fluffy beach towels, beach chairs and sunshade for a fun day by the water and the bikes to ride on the bike path. If we visit Long Beach again this will definitely be a place I would stay again.
Conveniently located in the Bluff Park neighborhood in Long Beach. The guest house has a walk score of 70 and a bike score of 85. Restaurants, bars, groceries, etc... can be easily accessed. Public transportation is located 1/2 a block away providing you additional access to other local attractions.
