This wonderfully charming recently remodeled 1920’s Los Angeles home is centrally located in a prime West Los Angeles neighborhood on a quaint, quiet, tree lined street. The home combines modern amenities and upgrades while preserving its old world charm.

You are sure to fall in love with this peaceful retreat. French doors open to a spacious deck with BBQ and beautiful private park-like garden. Soak up the California sunshine with your morning coffee or tea. Festive lighting on the deck makes it a perfect place to enjoy outside activities and dinning.

This warm and inviting home has 2 bedrooms which accommodates 4 adults comfortably, and can accommodate 4 adults and 2 children, if the children are over the age of 10. The home has central air conditioning, 2 bathrooms, formal dining room, modern gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances, bright and cheerful breakfast nook, and a fenced back yard. Other amenities include a washer and dryer.

The home is beautifully furnished with high-quality linens, comfortable furniture, and a well-stocked kitchen. This Westside retreat is ideally suited for couples and small families, as well as business/corporate housing.

Conveniently located near many of Los Angeles’ top attractions, our home a short 3 minute walk to restaurants, movie theaters, shops and bars/nightlife. Our home is also a short walk (4 blocks) to the new Expo Line Metro station. The Expo train will take you to downtown Santa Monica in 15 minutes, and downtown LA in about 40 minutes. Our home is a short drive to Westwood/UCLA, Beverly Hills, and the Getty Museum. Our house is 6 miles from Santa Monica and Venice Beaches, and only 10 miles from downtown Los Angeles, including LA Live, Staples Center, and the Music Center. For athletic activities, nearby Rancho Park offers: a beautiful regulation golf course, tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball diamonds, soccer fields and children’s parks – less than 1 mile away.

Other nearby attractions: The Grove shopping mall, historic Farmers Market, The Dolby Theater, Hollywood & Highland shopping, historic Grauman's Chinese Theater, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame – are all within a 20 minute drive. Public transportation is available within a 3-5 minute walk.

Charming, Comfortable, Calming & Close to UCLA

We recently stayed at this lovely home for more than 5 weeks while receiving medical care at UCLA. The drive to UCLA was very easy, and never took more than 15 minutes, even in heavy traffic. As others have said, the pictures are accurate, but this home offers so much more. It was the perfect place for a restful recovery. The back yard is an urban oasis, and was a wonderful place to take meals and relax. The house was very clean, beautifully decorated and has all of the comforts that anyone could want. The neighborhood is great and provides easy access to all major highways. The streets are lined with trees and we enjoyed walking the neighborhood daily. Most importantly, Jill and Tim were fantastic and a joy to work with. Recovering from surgery can be difficult, especially when you're away from home, however, this home was exactly what we needed and we'll remember it very fondly. We have no hesitation in strongly recommending this home for your stay in Los Angeles.

wonderful home

We enjoyed our stay so much. The home is beautiful. Clean, comfortable, stylish furnishings, everything worked well, stocked with everything we needed but absolutely no clutter! The backyard is an urban sanctuary -- I loved sitting on the deck and drinking my coffee in the morning or looking at the moon above the trees at night. The location is fantastic. So convenient to the best of LA. 10 minutes to the Santa Monica beaches and easy access to the 10 and the 405 for other trips. I'd go back tomorrow if I could! Tim and Jill were incredibly kind and very responsive. A pleasure to work with them. Highly recommended!

Outstanding Property

What a wonderful property and experience I had renting for the first time with VRBO! The Cottage was better than the listing description! It was decorated and appointed perfectly. The customer service from Jill Matteson and her husband was the best; timely responses to my questions and he walked us through everything when we arrived. The cottage was decorated so attractively and appointed with lovely bath products, coffee, kitchen equipment, supplies, etc. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were supplied with all the conveniences of home. The upstairs bedroom is perfect for children or shorter, young adults. In addition, the cottage is conveniently located within walking distance to a variety of restaurants; a mall with a large Nordstrom’s, and the Metro is just several blocks away. The neighborhood is very safe, quiet and very walk able. The property was centrally located; close to UCLA, Santa Monica; not far to major interstates for easy access to the Getty Villa and Center, Pasadena, the airport, etc. We had a delightful stay and are hopeful that this house will be available when we return for a visit! I have already recommended the cottage to others. It’s a gem!

Great place close to home for visiting family

Really welcoming home that we used for family visiting from Australia. Jill was a wonderful host, and everything that my parents needed was on hand and thoughtfully thought through. I hear the beds were super comfortable and the bathrooms, kitchen and living areas were also tastefully and personally done. You could tell this home is loved and not just another rental property. It was walking distance to shops and centrally located for them to get around.

Highly recommended and would definitely use again when people come to visit.

Great house with terrific owners

Our recent stay could not have gone better. The home is clean, well maintained and ready to go as soon as you walk in the door. Jill and Tim stayed in contact with us to insure that all was well. If you are looking for a comfortable home, in a quiet area, the "Cottage" is the place to stay. We will be back.

Chic and cozy home

I am a former long time resident of Los Angeles and know the area and rental market well. This home offers everything from style to value. Tim and Jill provided excellent customer service and were timely and professional. They even quickly came on thanksgiving day to rescue us after our daughter accidentally locked us out. The home has beautiful finishes and decor and feels very warm and homey. Walking distance to the mall and many restaurants. We would definitely stay there again.
