loved it, quiet spacious and very rural.
Quiet and idyllic setting and very private ...great if you are happy with being really remote
We had a terrific stay with the villa delivering everything promised. You really do need a car and the road leading to the villa is narrow and basically a track which takes some getting used to particularly at night. Otherwise this is a perfect holiday getaway particularly if you enjoy a pool. The pool which goes from shallow to deep quite quickly was cleaned every couple of days which we really appreciated. Overall we thought the villa was quaint and had character …. others might think it is ready for redecoration. It was clean and tidy on our arrival and the change of linen and towels with a basic clean of bathrooms halfway through our stay was a nice touch. There is plenty to see and do in and around Tavira and we had great days out in Seville, Faro and at a number of the coastal towns. Do buy the toll pass as it cut journey times down considerably. The shopping in the Algarve outlet malls and venues was good and varied. While we enjoy cooking, the kitchen was well equipped, and we found the local produce and markets great we also found plenty of local places to eat which offered really good choice and were very reasonable - and always friendly and welcoming. We made attempts to speak Portuguese but found our phrasebooks and Apps worthless as the level of English spoken along with other languages was high - which put us to shame! Finally, the artisan ice-cream in around Tavira was excellent and it was worth going out everyday just to have an ice-cream fix.
Dear Sanzeri family
Many thanks for your wonderful feedback. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay in Casa Katerina and do hope we see you again in the near future at this or any other Jacaranda manged property.

Local shopping is about 5 minutes by car in the small and quaint village of Santo Estavao. There you will find a beautiful church, cafes and small general stores. Alternatively Tavira offers a large selection of shops and larger supermarkets plus a fantastic morning fish and grocery market.
There are a series of waterfalls about 5 minutes by car in the near by river valley. A true paradise!
The Portuguese call Tavira the 'prettiest town in the Algarve'. It is a medieval town built on either side of a river, which is spanned by a seven-arch Roman Bridge. Elegant 18th century houses border the Rio Gilao. Castle ruins overlook at least 30 churches. Tavira is renowned for its historical past. Recent excavations have discovered some important Phoenician and Moorish remains.
Faro airport is the nearest and can be reached by car in about 30 minutes.
