Why Pam Castronova & Keith Rotach chose Honeoye
We chose Eagle Point because of the amazing view. Our first week in the cottage we were busy painting and heard an unusual bird call. Looking out the window - way up in a tall tree we saw two bald eagles! That's when we came up with the name Eagle Point.
What makes this Cottage unique
There are few views on Honeoye Lake better than this one and the sunsets can't be beat. The neighbors are friendly and helpful.

NOT A XXX.00 A NIGHT COTTAGE
My wife and I are not fussy people and enjoy rustic places, however this cottage was just not worth XXX.00 a night. We were very disappointed that the condition of the camp was poor at best. A funny yearn like smell in the hallway, water leaking into the small first floor bedroom which soaked our cloths bag. Dirty and cobwebs in bathroom, and living room. Very dirty looking carpets as well as water spots on ceiling and tiles missing in the bathroom on the walls and gaps in the floors. Upstairs looked like a patched together, last minute idea which we did not use. Dirt and debris on the floor and carpet. The garage area where the washer and dryer were located was very cluttered , dirty , and a puddle of water on the floor. The dryer was vented directly into the garage and we were expected to wash and fold our sheets and place them on the bed, which for XXX.00 a night should not have been our responsibility. HOWEVER WE DID LEAVE IT MUCH CLEANER THAN WE FOUND IT! I am not sure if there is any inspection of the properties that you advertise but i believe this was grossly misrepresented and do not feel I can trust the website. We should have known something may have been up when we tried contacting the owner and she was short with my wife. The communication and questions we had were difficult and we felt as if we were being a bother. Just not a good experience and we do not have extravagant or high standards at all. It would be great if a VRBO representative would give us a call, we can further elaborate our concerns. I feel that a partial refund is warranted, however I just hope to get our deposit back and put this sub-standard cottage in the rear view mirror. And if you ask why we didn't call the owner, there was nothing they could have done to improve conditions in a four day weekend. I have a very large network of workers and friends and at this point would not recommend your site or this cottage in the future. I don't believe I have ever given a negative review like this but my family and extended family were impacted by the sub-standard condition. No need to say any more, hopefully someone will contact me to discuss this further. Respectfully Submitted Joseph LaMarca. The one high point of the stay were the very friendly neighbors and how helpful they were.
Nice spot in Honeoye
We enjoyed our stay in the Honeoye area! This rental was a good location for us to visit the surrounding area, and the neighbors were friendly. The Cornerstone Market is a great place for a sandwich, and the Noble Shepherd Brewery for a cold drink. We also enjoyed hiking around Canadice and Hemlock Lakes. This home also was pet friendly and had good yard and plenty of quiet roads for us to walk!
The owners were very responsive and helpful!
great spot on the point... eagles or not!
Nice cottage and furnishings... fireplace was bit tricky at times but Keith was always on the spot to help. Plenty of room... especially outside on the large deck and grounds beside the lake. Our pup loved it, and so did we. We'd love to try it in the summer but lack of AC (beyond lake cooling) could be a problem. But we'll be back for sure as scheduling allows! Then maybe Keith will tell us where the eagles are kept haha. PS: the Honeyoye and Naples areas are great places to explore.
Thanks so much for your review. There is usually a nice cool breeze off the lake - so we don't have A/C. Please come back to Eagle Point soon!
Eagle Point.....a good choice!
This is a nice cottage on a quiet, peaceful location. The neighbors are great and extremely helpful. We had a wonderful time, good fishing and slept well. (the beds are very comfy!!) Thank you Pam and Keith for letting our dog, Riley, join us. He had the best time. You keep a very clean and comfortable cottage, well worth an enjoyable vacation. This will definitely be a consideration for us next year. Thanks again....Dan and Alita
You may not want to leave the deck at the cottage, but if you do want to venture out there are lots of things to do in our area. There are hiking & biking trails, restaurants, shops, local wineries & micro-breweries. No trip is complete without taking a drive to Naples for a walk to the waterfall at Grimes Glen and stopping by Joseph's Market to sample local produce and baked goods.
