Lido Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches, not only in Florida, but in the United States. The world famous sunsets off the shores of Lido Beach draw not only our visitors but local residents as well. All there to soak in one of natures most spectacular performances. The view is so surreal that it is not uncommon to see people clap their hands in the joy they receive from this experience.
All of this is just a short stroll from this quaint, Lido home.
We stayed for 4 nights and it was just perfect for a small family. Just as described. The pool was absolutely lovely - cool and refreshing as there was plenty of both sun and shade. A private oasis with so much vegetation. An outdoor shower and beach cart with chairs were great for beach days. The kitchen was huge and well equipped. The house felt roomy with a lot of floor space for games (Othello!). Beds were very comfortable - even the pull out from the day bed. Vicki was responsive to our every question.
We recommend renting umbrellas on the beach as well as going to the Surf Shack for gourmet tacos. Short walk to beach and St. Armand's Circle. Will absolutely book again!
The house is very nice inside and very clean. The pool was nice and the deck was big. We spent most of our time there. The walk to the beach is easy and we walked into Armand circle a couple of times. It was pretty quiet. The bedrooms are nice and the kitchen is beautiful. We would definitely go back.
LOVED this place!! Clean, comfy beds, easy access to beach, located in walking distance to St Armand's Circle - where there is so much to do, see, and eat. This was ideal for my hubby and I to relax by our private pool and walk the block to the beach to watch the great Lido Beach sunsets. The accommodations were newly updated with everything. I enjoyed cooking gourmet meals in the kitchen. Oh and we grilled on the gas grill a couple nights, too. Laundry facilities were a bonus. Two of my kids joined us for a couple of days and it was fine, one bathroom makes 4 or 5 people seem a little tighter.(*there is a rental studio attached to the property, so you may NOT be totally alone, but the pool is for your use only. And it is not a heated pool, bonus: it gets shade and sun.) Parking is great for one car, but would start getting tight if the studio was rented and you had car driving guests staying with you. I would definitely rent this place again. (In fact, we tried to rebook for the following year, same time frame, and it was already booked. :( )
The beach is absolutely gorgeous and not overly crowded. We went in March (spring break time), so the traffic in town and off the island was 'Yuck'. We made sure we did our grocery shopping once and tried to just stay on Lido Key the rest of our 10 day stay. There is a sweet bonus that we stumbled upon, and that was a fresh fruit/vegetable market on Thurs. 9-1pm at the beach pavilion. Bring cash. It was AWESOME!! Another unusual item was that there was often Pennsylvania Amish groups that came to watch the sunset. We also drove to the south part of the island to explore the park one day. This was a nice walk and we saw lots of interesting nature like different birds, a family of raccoons, and nice hiking trails.
The owner and the property manager, Vicki, were very helpful and quick to respond to questions. All in all, this was a wonderful, relaxing trip.
Had a great march break staying at this quaint home, a block next to the beach and a 10 minute stroll to st Armand's circle. House was clean and modern. Backyard pool was nice but unfortunately cold weather prevented us from enjoying it. Would recommend this home to a family trying to get away!
George was easy to work with before our stay. Vicky was fantastic during our time at the house. It is exactly as the pictures show. Everything we needed for a great trip. Thank you for sharing!
We rented this property with another couple for a conference our husbands were attending. The location was perfect, close to town and even closer to the beach. The newly updated home was well appointed and the pool area was where we spent most of our time. Vicki was very helpful and we can't wait to return. This property will not disappoint!
Beautiful St. Armands Circle, with its collection of restaurants & pubs, daiquiri decks, ice cream parlors, boutiques and specialty shops is a short 5 minute walk from the home.
The Lido Pavilion, located on the beach is 50 yards from the front door. Grant Drive is one of the quietest streets on Lido Key allowing you to bask in the simple pleasures of island life. At both ends of Lido Key there are Parks that you can bike or walk through, enjoying special 'look-outs' to the beautiful Mangroves surrounding that portion of Lido Key. Kayak rentals are available to get up close and personal with the natural shore lines surrounding Sarasota bay.
Mote Marine, a beautiful Aquarium where you can explore the many beautiful sea animals that live in the Gulf of Mexico is located just off the north end of the key.
Over the Ringling Bridge to mainland Sarasota you can take advantage of many wonderful experiences and a rich cultural community. From the Ringling Museum, to the ballet, opera or concerts at the Van Wezel, to gorgeous downtown Sarasota with its picturesque bay-front. With street names like Lemon, Orange, Pineapple, and Coconut it is a very tropical setting. Downtown Sarasota also boasts a beautiful movie theater, library, plenty of shopping, and wonderful restaurants.
