My family of 6 stayed at this beautiful cabin and enjoyed it immensely. The setting is magical and the cabin has just about everything you need. Beds were comfortable and the fact that linens and towels are provided was a big plus for us who were travelling such a long way. Margo and Steve Henderson were a pleasure to work with and answered all questions timely. It is walking distance to the lake which is right around the corner. We plan to be returning to this great vacation spot and will definitely want to stay here again. Also, many of family members were there during this week and our cabin was, in my opinion, the best one......Highly recoomend it and thank you Margo and Steve.......
We mostly enjoyed our stay at this home and the great quick responses to any questions from Margo! We have stayed at a lot of homes found through VRBO and it always makes us feel at ease to find property owners so responsive. We enjoyed the decor of this home, comfort of the couch and chairs and the great deck where we had breakfast and coffee every morning. The kitchen was nice and equipped with everything we needed to cook our meals. We enjoyed day trips to Lassen and Burney Falls and hanging out on the lake(though we found better access at the southern end where we could drive right up to the water) The beach was pretty small at the country club. Sand is very hard to find around the whole lake as a matter of fact. Our son did enjoy the playground there though. The only negative I have to mention iabout the cabin itself is that in one of the bedrooms upon pulling back the nice quilt, there were sheets with skulls and bones on them. I may have been able to look past this if they were not so dingy and uncomfortable. I tried moving to the super cute beachy bedroom only to discover how uncomfortable the mattress was. Upon lifting the sheets to look at the mattress, I could see why. It looked like it was at least 20yrs old. I ended up changing out the dingy bonecrusher sheets with the only sheets I could find in the closet - flannel, very warm for summer sleeping. Luckily I only spent part of the time sleeping in this room with my son. The master bedroom's bed was perfectly fine. I really hate to complain about the beds since we really did like the rest of the cabin, but hopefully it will help out future guests! Please shred those skull and bone sheets : ) Definitely not a relax into bed at a lakeside cabin feel.
Very clean with nice amenities! Beautiful deck and scenery. Owner was very helpful and quick to respond to questions I had before and during our vacation. Outside Not as young kid friendly as we would have liked, very steep driveway. But loved the recreation areas where our kids could play! Love Lake Almanor and plan to go back next year!
Our family needed a getaway from the busy hustle and bustle... boy we got it! What an amazing retreat we got. Margo and Steve's cabin was just what we needed! Beautifully set in the trees, It was quiet and so very relaxing! Having our morning coffee on the beautiful patio every morning, watching the birds and the deer. Just breathtaking! We were close enough to a beach to walk to, and it is a short distance to the to Rec areas. We look forward to renting again and again!
My husband and I rented this cabin for a week in July and had a wonderful time there. We were looking for a quiet serene location where we could relax and enjoy nature and explore the Mt Lassen area. Margo and Steve's cabin was ideal for us. The cabin itself is beautiful and comfortable. The owners have outfitted it with all the comforts of home, and it was a pleasure to live there for a week. They have a great selection of films for relaxing in the evening and the reclining chairs and couch were so inviting. The kitchen and bathrooms were updated, there were several places to sit out and enjoy the deck areas, and everything was just perfect. We did lots of hikes in and around Mt Lassen National Park, and this was a great home base. The cabin is located in a quiet neighborhood, part of the Lake Almanor Country Club, and the surrounding houses and cabins appeared unoccupied for most of the week, with several groups arriving on Friday, the last evening of our stay. Even with neighbors this last night, the houses are spaced well apart and we still had plenty of peace and privacy. Finally, Margo was wonderful from my very first email - responsive, helpful and welcoming, she made everything go smoothly. I recommend this cabin very highly!
