Hidden Gem

My family enjoyed a week at this beautiful cottage. Finding the cottage was easy and Kevin even helped launch our boat and bring our truck back while we brought the boat to the dock. The dock is guarded by large submerged rocks. We had electronic charts that made getting in easy. Our family spent a majority of time at the private beach, which was perfect for our 2 year old as there were very few rocks and all nice sand to play in. The cottage itself is very rustic, which we loved. Inside is an updated kitchen and bathroom and a main common area with beautiful views of the lake. The cottage is very private and out on it's own peninsula surrounded completely by water. Outside the cottage is a small hut with a bar and TV. My wife and I loved it as we could listen to the kids on the baby monitor and enjoy a beer out there. Kevin and his family gave us plenty of privacy and helped immediately with any questions we had. The worst part about this cottage was leaving! We only hope to be back next summer.

Best Place to Get Away

  • 4 of 5

This was exactly what we were looking for, a traditional Lake Winnipesaukee cottage! The property is very private, on its own peninsula with no neighbors. There are decent views, but there are a lot of trees and brush between the yard and the water that do obstruct the views a little. Without them though it wouldn't seem like such a secret spot! The yard is awesome, some grass and nice walkways around most of the house. There's a separate building with a bar and TV with cable, no TV in the house. The approach to the dock is a little rocky, so be careful when coming in on a boat. You can't park right at the house, you come down very close to the owners home and drive past it and park on the side. It seems like you'll be very close, but then you walk past the nice sandy beach (we used it all the time) on a path that leads on to the peninsula where the house is far away from everyone else. It is a little bit of a walk from the car. The owners are nearby, but they left us in complete peace. There was a paddle boat, canoe, two kayaks, life vests, a floating dock, ladder ball, tons of chairs outside and everything we could ever need inside. Again, this is one of the original cottages on the lake, it's a small gas stove and dim lighting, it was perfect for us! The house was very clean and was free of bugs.
