125 acre "off grid" property with incredibly beautiful views, 2 awesome small post & beam cabins, "a river runs through it", 5 miles of manicured trails, plenty of wildlife, river kayaking & tubing with over a mile of river frontage on Israel's River, surrounded by other US & New Hampshire Wildlife Refuges, there is a "woodcock habitat/preserve" on the property, beaver dams. This is the place for a great "Family Gathering" for a weekend or week. Sit on the deck and look at the Presidential Range to the south (can even see the Cog going up the rails), or the Kilkenny Range to the east, or Cherry Mountain to the southwest.
The main cabin has a wood stove, propane cook stove and refrigerator, flush toilet (to share with second cabin), well pump (only source of water), 3 queen size sleeping matresses/futon, limited solar lighting, oil lamps. A ladder is used to access the sleeping loft!
The smaller cabin has a wood stove, well pump (only source of water), 1 double size sleeping matress, 2 single matresses (in the screen porch, my favorite place to sleep) and other comfortable mats. A ladder is used to access the sleeping loft!
It may sound somewhat primitive to be off-grid in a secluded spectacular environment, but you will be amazed at how relaxing and meditative this place is. I believe you will enjoy your time away from your television and other distracting "devices". Cell phone reception, however, is pretty good!
Please remember there is no electricity available at Jona Meadow and you should come prepared for peace and quiet!

We (John & Nancy) found this spectacular property in 2002 and lived in a "teepee" in the summer months when visiting Jona Meadow. We then built 2 small post and beam cabins and continue to enjoy the "Meadow" throughout the year (even @ -46 degrees).
John Braga purchased this cabin in 2002
This is a very special place that we enjoy with family and our closest friends and we have decided that we would love to share it with a select group of renters who would appreciate this special place.
It is ideal for yoga & meditation retreats, hiking and outdoor enthusiasts, those seeking beauty and solitude and ultimate de-stressing. Or maybe a group of friends that just wants to get away from it all
If you love to walk throughout the woodlands and meadows to seek and enjoy nature you will find the "meadow" an ultimate get away. If you need more rigorous mountain hiking, the Appalachian Trail is very close by. Pondicherry Wildlife Refuge is also at your doorsteps.
What a beautiful piece of property! We had the perfect weekend up at Jona Meadow. The weather cooperated for us and we had a blast! 3 Ppl pitched Tents and we had 4 in the main cabin and 2 in the back cabin. They are both in great shape! Everyone loved being off the grid for AFew days and most of us cannot wait to go back. Over 100acres and A river we got to hang out & tube in!
Thanks John, so much, for making me not regret my decision to come and spend a meaningful weekend on the land!
Santa's Village is about a 2 mile drive. As the crow flies it is closer and you can see their fireworks on a summer night.
Waumbek Golf Course is a 1 mile drive up Meadows Road.
Carlisle Place Physical Therapy and Wellness Center (massages, etc.) is 1-1/2 miles away.
