About Pat and Marco Stamenov

MY HUSBAND AND I BOUGHT THIS CHALET IN 1974 . HE WAS AN ADVENT SKIER SINCE HE WAS 12..... AND SO TAUGHT ME HOW TO SKI....OF COURSE I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT, AND ALSO THE STATE OF VT. WE LIVE IN MD AN TRY TO GET THERE AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE. NOW FOUR DAUGHTERS AND EIGHT GRANDCHILDREN LATER, AND ALL ON SKIS EXCEPT THE LITTLE ONE, WE KNOW IT WAS A WORTH WHILE VENTURE!! WE INVITE YOU TO EXPERIENCE THE BEAUTY AND THE VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES THAT THIS WONDERFUL STATE HAS TO OFFER!

Pat and Marco Stamenov purchased this chalet in 1974

Why Pat and Marco Stamenov chose Mount Snow Area

WE BOUGHT THE CHALET IN THIS PARTICULAR AREA BECAUSE IT WAS SENTIMENTAL TO MY HUSBAND. HIS MOTHER SKIED AND BELONGED TO A SKI CLUB THAT SKIED BOTH MT. SNOW AND STRATTON MTN. IT IS ALSO CLOSE TO BROMLEY AND MAGIC MTN SKI AREAS.

What makes this chalet unique

IN 1974 THE HOUSE WAS BUILT LIKE A SWISS CHALET WITH THE DECK SIDING CUSTOM MADE , AND THAT IS WHAT DREW US TO THIS CHALET, HOWEVER OVER THE YEARS THE DECK NEEDED REPLACED AND AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICTURE THE SIDING IS NOT THE SWISS DESIGN ANYMORE. SOME OF THE SIDING GOING UP THE STEPS IS STILL THE ORIGINAL....... THE SECOND THING THAT SOLD US ON THIS ONE WAS THE PRIVACY ......SO WE BOUGHT THE LOT IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE AND THAT ASSURED US OF ALWAYS HAVING THE PRIVACY THAT WE WANTED.

A Cozy Home near VT's beautiful landscape

  • 5 of 5

My family's stay was absolutely a memorable experience for all of us. The chalet is situated in a fairly secluded road but accessible to the main roads (VT 100). This was very useful since we traveled to different towns to visit and enjoy the state parks. After our travels, all the amenities in the home made us feel right at home plus more. If our stay was longer, the kitchen/dining area and washer/dryer would definitely come very handy. We mostly dined in but there are different small restuarants in the area that looked very appetizing from the reviews I read. I recommend Dot's Diner for a nice breakfast/lunch/or brunch. Overall, this is a perfect chalet for a nice getaway to the beautiful VT mountain region for a small family, couple, or small group. Pat responded very quickly and she provided us with all the necessary info. to reach out if we had any issues (which turned out no issues at all!) Thanks!!!

Everything We Needed

  • 5 of 5

This cabin in the woods had everything we needed for our family of five; plenty of sleeping space, laundry, great deck, fully equipped kitchen, and ample seating in both the kitchen and living room. Our days were spent at nearby attractions (Bromley, Wardsboro parade, family reunion), and this was a great spot to return to for recharging our batteries for the next day's adventures. We will certainly rent this house again. Keep in mind that it's a cabin, not the Ritz Carlton. It was cozy, comfortable, and exactly what we needed for our five day trip this summer. Thanks again, Pat and Marco!

Chalet in the woods

  • 4 of 5

Coming back from a day of skiing to the Pat and Marco's chalet in the woods was a treat. The description of the chalet was accurate. It's small and rustic but cozy. Sitting in the rocker looking out the sliding glass windows at the snow covered porch and trees was very relaxing. It was easy working with Pat to organize the trip.

There is free wifi, but it works better on a computer than a phone. No cell phone service (texting worked upstairs, but not downstairs), but this was a retreat from the world, so didn't miss it (and if I need to make a call, I did it before leaving Stratton Mountain).

For a great dinner, try Dover Forge, about 5 miles down Rt 100 in Dover.

Cozy Spot Away From It All!

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough good things about Pat and Marco's West Wardsboro chalet! The chalet was located on a quiet cul-de-sac close enough to Rt 100 to have easy access to West Dover, Wilmington, Brattleboro, Manchester, ect. but not so close that we had any road noise whatsoever.

The chalet is rustic. Located in the woods, it was a perfect place to hang our hammock and listen to the wind through the trees and relax. The second floor deck with grill was another great place to relax and read a book or make something yummy for dinner. We visited in the summer so we didn't really have a need for the wood stove, but we did notice that there was plenty of wood already chopped and waiting. A huge dining table let the two of us use one end for eating and the other to set up laptops, etc to upload the gorgeous pictures we got while hiking in the area. If you are coming with a larger group, it would be perfect for dining all together.

There were lots of beds to choose from and a nice sized bathroom as well. Washer and dryer made it possible for us to return home after a weeks stay with a only a couple of things to put in the laundry.

The wifi and dish tv both worked great and the sofa and rocking chairs were very comfortable spots to kick back after a day exploring.

The owners also put a nice little fire pit in in the back yard, which was great for smores in the evening.

We typically don't bring our dogs with us when we travel. They are fussy, they don't travel well, and usually not comfortable wherever we end up staying. But we decided we would bring them with us for this trip. They are still terrible travelers but, they loved this chalet. They settled in immediately and loved the place!

Pat and Marco provided excellent customer service, especially in the communication department. Pat was quick to answer any questions and help in any way that she could. We will be making our annual trip back to the Dover area next year and we will be booking this chalet! We can't wait to come back!!

Great Stay with Great Deck

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We had 3 people and 3 dogs (very behaved). I was shocked and so grateful that Pamela would allow us to have all of our dogs. She was very attentive and gave us lots of places to go and even allowed us to use the canoe, which we didnt use after all. We did some hiking, swimming, and walking but mostly we sat on the deck drinking wine and grilling steaks. We all discussed going back for the leave changes. My only suggestion might be a dehumidifier in the master bedroom during the summer months but it was a really great birthday weekend overall! Thanks Pam!
