This was a fabulous experience. You can see and feel the thought & care that has gone into every aspect of the house to make the traveler feel at home and welcome. It was beautiful, immaculate, & well-equipped. We stayed there with friends, and there was just the right amount of together space and private space for all. The views are absolutely breath-taking. While I have never met the owners, I can't help but feel that the charm & grace of the home is a reflection on them. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a beautiful, peaceful refuge in the North Carolina mountains. We hated to leave. I'm not sure what I will miss more - having coffee on the deck in the mornings looking at the mist and the light changing as the sun comes up or enjoying a glass of wine on the deck while watching the stunning sunset in the evenings. I understand why people who have the pleasure of staying here return to this home & hope that we have that opportunity, too.
Our stay was all we imagined! Beautiful sight and home. I will rent from them again!!
Could not have been better!
I wish I could give our hosts and this property way more stars! To say it was amazing is an understatement. The location of the house is superb - with a back deck looking out at the mountains. We saw some incredible sunsets. It was so serene out there. It was so perfect for a mom's getaway for us 5 ladies. Dawn was super responsive and friendly. No issues whatsoever. Hosts supply literally EVERYTHING you could need except your personal belongings and food/beverages, so packing is so easy! They even have shampoo and other toiletries in case you forget anything. Every detail has been well thought out. The house comfortably fit all 5 of us and the layout is wonderful. We loved the deck in the mornings and the evenings. The screen porch is adorable. We spent both nights by the fire pit in the comfy adirondack chairs. We hiked at Stone Mountain Park (BTW when they say part of the SM loops is "strenuous" they're not kidding. But so worth the views and so close to the house!) We didn't venture out to any wineries or in to any towns because we just enjoyed being at the house (plus brought enough food to last for at least a week!) Everything was very clean. Plenty of kitchen supplies. I just can't say enough! I would go back in a heart beat and in fact, I'm already trying to figure out when I can go back with my family because I want them to be able to experience it as well. Thank you so much Dawn!
Great location and view
Excellent location from which to explore Stone Mountain. The views and outdoor spaces are fantastic.
Had a wonderful time and wish we could have stayed longer
Awesome mountain home
My firends and I thoroughly enjoyed our quick vacation in this hime. Everything was just as described. It sits at the top of the mountain so the morning views were great. There was plenty of space for the 5 of us. The kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped. Dawn was easy to talk to and readily available. The drive up the mountain seemed far initially but we were only about 15 mins from town. There are plenty of wineries nearby which was the purpose of our trip. And the house is on a golf course. Overall we had a wonderful time.
House is located in Traphill, NC between Roaring Gap and Wilkesboro, in the heart of Blue Ridge country and Yadkin Valley Wine Region. The closest winery is only 10 minutes away. An hour away from Winston-Salem, Boone and Banner Elk, this mountain community is laid back and friendly. Several other fantastic mountain golf courses are within easy driving distance. There are more than two dozen wineries within 30 miles. Incredible hiking and sightseeing at Stone Mountain State Park and Doughton Recreation Area. Minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and the New River. Activities abound nearby or within a comfortable drive, including hiking, fishing, canoeing, golfing, mountain biking, skiing, antique shopping and much, much more.
