About Cindi Bungert
I live in New London I have 3 children and we all enjoy vacationing in Door County...we have been spending a week there and doing day trips there the last few years. We are excited to have a home there and would like to share it with your family so you can have the fun and memories that we do...
Cindi Bungert purchased this House in 2015
Why Cindi Bungert chose Ephraim
There is plenty of room for all to enjoy....located at the end of a cul de sac but close to the highway
What makes this House unique
Large enough for a couple families
The location is excellent, and great size for large groups or families.
The owner did open up her room for us for extra space which we appreciated.
Negatives: The beds did not have the sheets on them (this is how she does it[ which is fine] but I really didn't feel like making beds when we got in.
It was pretty cold out and the heat was completely off so it was 54 degrees when we got in. It took a good while for this to warm up.. We would of appreciated some heat on at least a little bit.
Cleanliness is why this only received two stars. You pay a hefty cleaning fee so you Expect it to be clean. Cobwebs and spiders all over walls in kitchen, and corners in other rooms, the refrigerator was dirty, crumbs all over counters and appliances, and the kitchen and bathrooms sink/vanities were not clean either. I clean for other people so I knows whats expected and this was not acceptable.
I would love to rent this again as it was perfect for us but cleanliness is a HUGE thing and this didnt cut it!
I feel a partial refund of the cleaning fee would be appreciated.
The house is big and can fit 15 people comfortably. We had a great time. The house is dated and not 5 star, more like 2 1/2 star. But we knew that going in. Location is great. We saw deer in the yard. Had a fire outside, internet is good. But the major drawback is there are no channels on the TV except for PBS. They have an antenna, but only PBS comes in. We wanted to watch the Wisconsin vs Iowa football game and we had to stream it on our iPad. 15 people huddled around an iPad is not ideal. You can get a great antenna for $30. Why don’t they have one? That would pick up Green Bay.
Would we rent again? Yes, but we will bring our Apple TV and an antenna and mirror cast to the TV. The house is not top of the line, The yard is huge with no close neighbors, so why don’t they allow dogs? We have 2 non shedding dogs that would have been fine here. We had to pay to board them instead. MAJOR DRAWBACK.
Thank you for submitting a review on my home the TV has seem to be an issue that antenna was way more than $30 it is also a smart TV I am not a techy person but I have Netflix Amazon and other things on there also can login too any sports network...my kids tend to stream whatever they want right off their phone... the reason I do not allow pets is not everyone's pets are non shedding and to go around every inch of the yard every time and make sure people have picked up their dog droppings makes it very difficult... not everyone takes care of their pets the same way unfortunately and not all pets are non shedding
Great location, great size and seating for all. But upstairs was very hot. The sheets on the beds did not stay on, so in the middle of the night you are sleeping on the bare mattress. One bunk had to have bolts tightened every day. Could use some drinking glasses for kids. Had trouble with the front door lock. For having a cleaning service we were surprised to find a prescription pill, that did not belong to us, among the food and dust particles in and under the sofa. Had a blast in Door County.
We were a group of 11 teachers the house worked for us. We had plenty of room. It was very clean and had what we needed. The owner, Cindi was very accommodating. One of the guests forgot her purse and she was willing to go out of her way to return it. The house is in a perfect location to enjoy all Door County has to offer. We hit the wineries, kayaking, Washington Island and shops.
Spacious stay for 12 people!
We had 12 people - 3 couples, 4 kids, a grandma and great grandma, celebrating my son's high school graduation. When Cindi heard my 90 year old grandmother was joining us, she was so kind to open her personal quarters to us!! I am glad too, because the stairs to the main 4 bedrooms would have been a bit much for her. This house is spacious, plenty of room for the 12 of us. The location is very convenient, a quick drive up to Sister Bay or down to Ephraim. The mattresses are new, quality and comfortable. We did a bunch of BBQ grilling, with plenty of seating. The kitchen is equipped adequately. There is also plenty of parking for 4, maybe even 5 vehicles. We never had a problem with running out of hot water for showers, either.
We are veterans of Door County - our spouses would tell you we are related to half the residents. As such, we would not say this is a remote or rural location for Door County. Route 42 is only half a block away through the trees that you can see and hear from the back porch, as well as a parking lot for a resort. It wasn't anything that you could hear from inside, but it would have been nice to know. It wouldn't have changed our minds, though. It is still worth staying.
Note about the AC: When we arrived at 4pm, it was 78 degrees in the house and humid (and 88 outside). We turned on the AC, ran it for 4 hours, and while cold air was blowing through the vents, there was no improvement. The AC is undersized for the space. You have to open the windows at night to let cool air in, then close up the house to seal it in the morning, and then the AC can more or less maintain the coolness, but it never removes the humidity, and there are no ceiling fans and only one working mobile fan in the whole house. Luckily Door County rarely gets truly hot and always cools down at night. With this approach, we were able to keep the house comfortable the remainder of the trip despite fairly high temps (we stayed over the 4th of July), but if you don't want to hassle with opening and closing windows twice a day, you might not want to stay here during July or August.
Roomy comfy place.
It was a great place to stay at for our family of 8 adults and 6 grandchildren. I loved that it was in a cul-de-sac, saver for our young grandkids to ride their bikes. Had lots of room in kitchen/dining area and living room area.
