About this property

Crystal River Chalet on 2 acres with over 500ft of river frontage.

The Crystal River Chalet is located on the Crystal River with over 500ft of river frontage and 2 acres of land. The property is located at the base of the famous Mt Sopris with expansive views of the Crystal Valley. Fish in the backyard or travel a short distance to Colorado's best Gold Medal Trout waters. The house is a 2 bedroom 2 bath with a master suite upstairs with a king Tempur-Pedic mattress. The second bedroom has a brand new queen mattress with a large enclosed steam shower perfect for cold Colorado nights. There is a new smart propane fireplace and large dining table for dinner gatherings. An office with bluetooth printer and all your work needs while on vacation. Enjoy a updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances that includes a whirlpool dishwasher, oven and fridge. The property has several areas to enjoy the river and star gaze at night. Carbondale is your base camp for adventure that will allow all your Colorado dreams come true. An old mining town turned into an artist community is a short 8 min drive. The historic town features world class dining and is slowly becoming a destination that will be on all the top of the list for all who come to Colorado. Aspen is only a 45 min drive away which everyone has to experience once in their life. Glenwood Springs is 30 min drive and offers everything for the family and the adventurer at heart. The Hot Springs are some of the best in the world with the Famous Hots Springs Pool and the New Iron Mountain Hot Springs. We like to stay away from the crowds and go to Redstone or Marble up HWY 133. They both offer amazing food options, hot springs and art galleries along with some of the most pristine views of the Colorado backcountry. Avalanche Hot Springs is 10 min drive away and is listed as the best new natural hot springs in Colorado. The town of Crested Butte is only an 1 hour and a half in the summer, which takes you past the largest Aspen grove in Colorado and a trip worth every second. You will not be disappointed when you stay at the Miller Mountain Chalet for all your Colorado adventures.

Great 2 acre retreat with creek running through it
Great property for our pups to run free and for us to relax. 10 minute drive to town, peaceful property with acreage for our pups to roam. Sitting creekside was so relaxing. There is a main hwy that is next to property so you will hear road noise. Given the fact that we arrived during a historic heat wave (97 degrees on first day there). No a/c, as most mountain homes do not have. Bring a fan if you travel during hot times. There is a house fan (attic fan) which was ok but portable fans are better to direct the flow of air where you need it. Also, dealt with mudslides, road closures and flash flood warnings. Our friends had to talk the alternate route to get home since I-70 was closed due to mudslides on highway. We attended the Thursday night rodeo and a Mountain Art Festival in town which was a lot of fun.

Colorado getaway
Nice stay at quirky property with a mixture of nice amenities and non-maintained items. Quirky in that the creek is right next to a fairly traveled highway and floorplan is such that the kitchen and dining area are downstairs and the tv/sitting area is upstairs. When we were there, the coffee maker didn't work, two lights were out, the outdoor gas fire didn't have gas, and the fire pit bench had broken slats. That said, the house was clean, beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked. The washer/dryer was a great plus too. The hosts also had a variety of interesting items in the house including a guitar, telescope, lots of books and games as well as the steam shower (all which we unfortunately did not get to try since we were out and about much of the time). We really enjoyed hanging out at the creek one of the afternoons and wish we had more time to sit and relax. Colorado is truly a summer paradise.

Quiet Retreat Great Locale
We loved staying here and hit the perfect weather for the house all windows open to hear the river...the main road is closer to the river/ house than anticipated but it didn’t diminish the experience a bit. Loved the modern well stocked kitchen and beds super comfortable as advertised! We loved being able to explore Marble, Aspen, Basalt, Carbondale and Redstone with easy access to hiking. Our pup did not want to leave Somuch to explore for everyone. I would come back in an instant. Suggestions Might think about some actual chairs on main level as it was either an office or wooden chairs so makes it hard to socialize on main level and might make it hard for two couples Some of the outside furniture needs TLC Hosts were helpful and accessible to all questions!

What makes this property unique

Our views are never obstructed. We love watching the rafters and kayakers float past the house on the crystal river.
